Des weiteren ist in der Messerkopfscheibe ein Bolzen 7 angeordnet, der in die Ausnehmung 5 hineinragt. Der Bolzen ist auf keiner der Symmetrieachsen der Messkopfscheibe sowie versetzt zur Mittelachse 3 des Messers angeordnet, so dass die Messer nicht spiegelverkehrt an der Messerkopfscheibe angebracht werden können, was zur Folge hätte, dass die Schneide 10 des Messers nicht in Drehrichtung der Messerkopfscheibe angeordnet wäre. Des weiteren verhindert der Bolzen, dass Messer, die keine entsprechende Bohrung aufweisen auf der Messerkopfscheibe montiert werden können. Wie aus dem vergrößerten Kreisabschnitt erkennbar, weist die Ausnehmung 5 eine Skalierung auf, die dem jeweiligen Exzenterhaltebolzen entspricht. Die obere Skalierung ist für einen Exzenterhaltebolzen gewählt, bei dem das Messer in einer 0- Stellung oder 6 mm nach außen verschoben auf der Messerkopfscheibe angeordnet werden kann. Entsprechend ist die untere Skalierung für einen Exzenterhaltebolzen vorgesehen, bei dem das Messer in der O-Stellung oder 3 mm nach außen versetzt angeordnet sein kann. In dem vorliegenden Fall handelt es sich um Messer, die noch nie in ihrer Länge begrenzt wurden. Dementsprechend korrespondiert der Strich auf dem Bolzen mit der Skalierung 0. Die Messerkopfscheibe besteht aus einem metallischen Kern 16, der mit einem Kunststoffring 17 ummantelt ist. In dem vorliegenden Fall ist der Kunststoffring auf den metallischen Kern geschrumpft. Die Schablone 12 kann um die Schraube 14 in und gegen den Uhrzeigersinn um jeweils 90° gedreht und in der entsprechenden Lage fixiert werden. Je nach Größe des Kutters kann die Schablone 12 nebst ihrer Fixierung auch noch in der durch den Doppelpfeil 15 dargestellten Richtung verschoben werden. In der oberen Darstellung ist ein Originalmesser, dessen Spitze noch nicht eingekürzt worden ist, auf der Vorrichtung eingespannt. Dementsprechend befindet sich die Schablone in O-Stellung, die auch der Anordnung gemäß Figur 2 entspricht. Die untere Darstellung verdeutlicht die Situation, nachdem das Messer eingekürzt worden ist. Mittels der Schablone wurde ermittelt, dass das Messer um 6 mm gekürzt worden ist und der Betreiber weiß, dass die Exzenterbolzen in eine entsprechende Stellung gebracht werden müssen.
