Abstract
On connaît la fabrication d'un non-tissé sandwich à l'aide d'au moins deux non-tissés de couverture en fibres chimiques et/ou naturelles et d'une couche intermédiaire centrale constituée de fibres de pulpe. Après la superposition des couches de non-tissés, l'ensemble obtenu est placé dans un dispositif d'aiguilletage hydrodynamique provoquant l'assemblage et la consolidation des couches. Pour que l'on puisse obtenir un produit non-tissé de ce type qui soit plus volumineux et ainsi plus mou, il faut qu'au moins le volume du non-tissé de couverture inférieur chaque fois déposé et mis en forme soit augmenté avant le dépôt de la couche de pulpe. Cette augmentation de volume est obtenue, selon l'invention, par foulage en largeur d'un non-tissé présentant une certaine largeur ou par calandrage, par exemple au moyen de cylindres du type roue dentée s'engrenant l'un dans l'autre, ou bien par un pré-aiguilletage hydrodynamique additionnel.
