Abstract

The production of a sandwiched non-woven material from at least two cover non-woven material layers made from chemical fibres, or natural fibres and an inner intermediate layer of pulp fibres is known. After the superimposition of the non-woven material layers, the composite is placed in a hydrodynamic needling device where the connection and fixing of the layers occurs. According to the invention, a more voluminous and hence softer, non-woven end product of the above type may be produced, whereby the lower of the laid, formed and thus produced cover non-woven materials have the volume thereof increased before the application of the pulp layer. The above is achieved by means of a compression of the non-woven material having a given width or by calandering, by means of, for example, geared engaging rollers, or additional pre-water needling.

Description

Verfahren zur Herstellung eines voluminösen Sandwichvlieses aus zumindest zwei Deckvliesen und mittiger Pulpschicht und Maschinenanlage dazuProcess for the production of a voluminous sandwich fleece from at least two cover fleeces and a central pulp layer and machine system for this
It is through z. B. WO 01/53588 a method for producing a sandwich fleece from at least two cover nonwovens made of man-made fibers and / or natural fibers and a middle intermediate layer of pulp fibers is known. For consolidation, the sandwich fleece runs into a water needling device and then into a dryer. The bottom cover layer formed from continuous fibers passes through a pair of calender rolls to press the fiber layer before the pulp is applied.
Sandwich nonwovens manufactured in this way are optimal with regard to a loss-free amount of pulp fiber, but they are flat in the end product, they are not voluminous.
The object of the invention is to develop a method with which a voluminous sandwich fleece can also be achieved with this type of hydrodynamic bonding.
To solve the problem, the invention proposes to increase the volume of the deposited, shaped cover webs, which are in any case produced, before the pulp layer is added. Such a more voluminous fleece and thus the sandwich product is then softer and more pleasant to the touch. This can be done by compressing, crimping, hydrodynamically treating or shrinking at least parts of the fibers of the cover layer. In any case, the volume generated in the fleece must be fixed so that it is retained by the water needling during the final consolidation.
By US Re. 31, 599 it is known to place continuous fibers in a gear after spinning in order to form a three-dimensionally deformed fleece, but none of this takes place here Fixation. If such a fleece according to the invention were used, the three-dimensionality would be canceled out immediately.
It is also known from EP-A-0 540 041 to needled a staple fiber fleece before the pulp layer is placed in it. This is done there to increase the water absorption capacity of the fleece. The fleece is then provided with a dry pulp layer, which is connected to the wet fleece by pressure.
It is better to place the pulp in an intermediate layer as disclosed in US-A-4,704,112. In addition to the cover nonwovens, an intermediate nonwoven is formed there, which has free spaces such as holes, into which the pulp can then be introduced in a thicker layer corresponding to the thickness of the intermediate nonwoven. Apart from the fact that such a sandwich fleece structure does not have a continuous pulp layer, it is not possible to achieve a fleece with a softer handle.
With the idea according to the invention, on the other hand, not only is a voluminous, softer three-layer fleece achieved, but also a thicker layer of pulp fibers, at least at the level of the depressions of the first and the lower cover fleece, can be introduced between the three-dimensionally deformed cover fleece.
In the drawing, two plants for producing the sandwich fleece are shown. Based on this, further inventive details are to be explained. 1 shows a schematic illustration of a discontinuous offline system with a nonwoven pretreatment after the separate spinning unit, FIG. 2 shows a discontinuous inline system with a nonwoven pretreatment after the spinning process, and FIG. 3 shows a spunbonded nonwoven system with water needling.
In the spunbond process, the endless filaments are formed in the unit 1 and placed on an endless belt 2. The fleece 3 formed with a weight of z. B. 8 - 15 g / m 2 is then thermally solidified under pressure by means of a calender 4. Only now can the nonwoven be manipulated and rolled up here. Subsequently, the roll 5 with the spunbond fleece 3 is to be submitted to a separate machine system for producing a sandwich fleece. This system then consists of roll 5 for the ground cover fleece and a unit for increasing the volume of the fleece. According to FIG. 1, this unit is a simple hydrodynamic needling device 6 with a smooth or better structured drum surface 7. Here, a pair of calender rolls with gear meshing rolls or a fleece shrinking device can also be used. In any case, the volume of the calendered nonwoven 3 must be increased in order to soften the grip of the end product. Then the pulp is given a pulp layer, e.g. B. by means of the air-lay device 8. The pulp layer is z. B. 20-60 g / m 2 . In order to produce the complete three-layer sandwich fleece, the top layer of roll 5 'has to be given up. B. by another pre-spunlace device 6 '. Finally, the three-layer fleece is to be connected to one another in its layer, specifically by means of a hydrodynamic needling device 9 with water needling on both sides. Finally, the PLC fleece is to be dried in device 10 and rolled up with device 11.
Another, but ultimately also discontinuous system is shown in FIG. 2. There, the calendered nonwoven 3 is first increased in volume before rolling up with the unit 5 ". According to the illustration, this is done by means of a simple pre-spunlace device 6" is integrated into the spinning system. Instead of the wet treatment to increase the volume, a structuring pair of rollers or an upsetting device can also be conceivable here. In the case of wet treatment, a dryer 14 should follow, or at least a water suction device. The Deckviies now achieved on the roll 5 'is already increased in volume and soft to the touch. It can now be presented to the sandwich fleece system for both the floor fleece 5 "and for the cover fleece 5 '". In between, the pulp with the unit 8 has to be placed and everything has to be solidified and dry in the device 9 as before.
FIG. 3 discloses a spunbonded nonwoven system according to FIG. 2, but in which the pair of rollers 4 with the pre-spunlace device 6 "is replaced by a compacting unit, that is to say with an opposing compacting belt 2 ', both of which are flowed through by the water jets of a nozzle bar 12 After the more compact, the fleece is then increased in volume, which is done by the nozzle bar 13, which is also assigned to the endless belt 2. Finally, the fleece is to be dewatered by suction and / or by drying.
