Description

The invention relates to a tap with a foam choke for removing liquid from a container with a plastic bushing, in which a piston is guided and which has a passage opening for the liquid, which closes the piston in a retracted locking position and in an extended removal position releases.

Such taps are from the DEU 298 21 780, DE 198 25 929 A1 . WO 02/072 469 A1 and WO 02/090 239 A1 known. They are mainly used to remove pressurized, carbonated liquids, especially drinks, from barrels, small barrels (party kegs) or cans. It's all about party kegs for beer.

Beer is traditionally tapped with CO 2 under overpressure. This technique is widely used in gastronomy. It has the advantage that the beer comes with CO 2 substantially saturated to the customer. This is unsurpassed for the freshness, quality and taste of the beer.

With beer beer kegs, the concept of bringing the tap technology into home use with CO 2 was originally pursued. There are dispensers with CO 2 cartridges that have a piercing tube that is inserted through a bunghole at the top of the party keg to the bottom. It is CO 2 fed under pressure in the headspace of the barrel to hochzufördern the beer through the tapping tube and spend. The quality of the beer can be affected, since the CO 2 overpressure is not regulated. If the pressure is too low, CO 2 is released from the beer, and the beer becomes stale. If the pressure is too high, overcarbonation of the beer occurs, accompanied by deterioration of the taste. Many customers also shy away from handling CO 2 cartridges and the cumbersome and costly pin.

A party keg of beer can be emptied by gravity with simultaneous pressure equalization without CO 2 . For this purpose, a tap integrated into a party keg of the type mentioned was developed. The tap is used in conjunction with a manual pressure relief valve in a bunghole at the top of the barrel. The consumer can aerate the barrel through the valve and bring about an unpressurized evacuation by gravity alone.

The disadvantage here is that the beer comes into contact with atmospheric oxygen, and that outgasses CO 2 from the beer. Remedy is seen in a CO 2 dispenser, which is located inside the party keg and gives off a controlled CO 2 overpressure into the headspace of the keg the first time it is taped. The CO 2 dispenser is activated by the consumer in exactly the same way as the pressure equalization valve at the top of the drum. The CO 2 overpressure ensures that the existing CO 2 remains dissolved in the beer and no oxygen enters the headspace of the barrel.

For the CO 2 overpressure in the headspace of the barrel approx. 0.6 to 0.8 bar are aimed for. Compared to the current state, to empty the barrel with pressure equalization at atmospheric pressure solely by gravity, this means a significant increase in the delivery pressure. The consequence is that practically only foam is tapped.

The object of the invention is to provide a foam choke, with which a tap of the type mentioned in a simple, easy to install and retrofit can adapt to a pin with CO 2+ under pressure, so that beer and foam in an appropriate ratio be issued.

The foam choke that accomplishes this task consists of a hood which can be placed in front of the passage opening on the bushing of the tap, which covers the passage opening and which encloses a labyrinth channel with the bushing, which at one end is open towards the interior of the container and which ends at the other end into the passage opening.

In a preferred embodiment, the labyrinth channel has a meandering course.

In a preferred embodiment, the open end of the labyrinth channel is near the outer end of the bushing. This is important for the emptying of the container. The tap is located just above the bottom of the container, which is tilted to remove the liquid residue. In this case, a liquid level must adjust at the open end of the labyrinth channel.

The labyrinth channel can be formed both on the outer jacket of the liner, as well as on the inner surface of the hood. In the latter embodiment, the labyrinth channel may end in a tap hole through the hood or leak at an end face of the hood. In this variant, the opening of the labyrinth channel is even closer to the end of the bushing.

In a preferred embodiment, the hood can be clipped onto the bushing. The hood can be both fully cylindrical, as well as partially cylindrical. In the latter variant, the hood has a wrap angle of more than 180 °, preferably about 220 °. It holds so under slight spread by inherent elasticity of the liner.

In a preferred embodiment, the liner is provided with ribs on its outer shell. The hood of the foam choke has recesses that fit over these ribs for positioning.

The tap consists of a liner 10, a piston 12 and a foam throttle 14th

The bush 10 has a circular cylindrical cup body 16, the bottom 18 is closed at its inner end. At the outer end of the bushing 10, a conically expanding bung made of elastic material is formed, which has a flange-like outer bearing part 20, a recessed behind it circumferential sealing part 22 and located in front of the sealing part 22, circumferential conical locking part 24 whose diameter is greater than that the sealing part 22.

The tap is pressed as a completely pre-assembled unit of bush 10, piston 12 and foam throttle 14 in the round opening of a container containing a liquid to be tapped. It is a pressureless or pressurized liquid that may contain carbon dioxide. Specifically, it is about the tapping of drinks, especially beer, from barrels, small barrels (party kegs) or cans. The nozzle is pressed with the cup body 16 and the conical latching portion 24 of the bushing 10 in the opening of the container. The peripheral sealing portion 22 receives the edge of the opening under seal, so that it comes to rest between the flange-like bearing section 20 and the latching portion 24 of the bushing 10, with the latter engages at the edge of the opening.

To align the bush 10 with respect to the piston 12 during assembly of the nozzle 16 four uniformly offset over the circumference ribs 26 are integrally formed on the outer surface of their cup body, which extend in the longitudinal direction of the bush 10.

The liner 10 has in the jacket wall of its cup body a passage opening 28 for the liquid to be tapped. The piston is a cylindrical hollow body whose shell wall at the inner end of the piston has an inlet opening 30, and at the outer end of the piston an outlet opening 32 for the liquid. Before the first pin, the piston 12 takes a retracted into the bush 10 locking position (see. Fig. 1 ), in which he closes the passage opening 28 of the bush 10 tightly. By pulling the piston 12 out of the bushing 10, the inlet opening 30 reaches the height of the passage opening 28, and liquid flows through the interior of the piston towards its outlet opening 32.

The foam throttle 14 is a partially cylindrical hood made of plastic. The hood is clipped outside the passage opening 28 on the cup body 16 of the bushing 10 so that it covers the passage opening 28. The hood has a wrap angle of about 220 ° -. It sits slightly spread apart by its own elasticity on the cup body 16 of the bushing 10 fixed.

The hood of the foam choke 14 has recesses 34 into which three of the four ribs 26 on the outer shell of the cup body 16 fit. The foam choke 14 is positioned in the recesses 34 by engagement of the ribs 26.

The hood of the foam throttle 14 has on the inside a labyrinth channel 36 of meandering course. The labyrinth channel 36 opens at one end into the passage opening 28 of the bushing 10. In the variant according to Fig. 1 to Fig. 3 leads to the other end of the labyrinth channel 36 a tap hole 38 which passes through the hood transversely. The tap hole 38 is located at the outer end of the bushing 10 not far away from the passage opening 28. In the variant according to Fig. 4 the labyrinth channel runs out at the front of the hood.
