- the invention relates to a heat exchanger, in particular a gas cooler for CO2 ' as a refrigerant, according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Heat exchangers for air conditioning systems with R134a as the refrigerant consist of a heat exchanger network made of flat tubes and collecting tubes with a circular cross section arranged on both sides of the network. Such constructions were sufficient in strength for the pressures occurring in a condenser. With modern refrigerants such as CO2, however, there are considerably higher pressures that are no longer manageable with conventional heat exchanger designs. Extruded manifolds with increased wall thickness have therefore been proposed in WO 98/51983, a manifold consisting of four circular flow channels arranged next to one another. The production of such an extruded manifold is expensive because of the tools required for it.
- header pipe Another type of header pipe was proposed in DE-A 199 06 289, a header pipe being constructed from extruded parts and having two circular flow channels for the refrigerant C02. With this construction too, at least part of the collecting pipe must pass through

- a longitudinal partition of the lid / bottom acts as a tie rod, - since it is soldered to the bottom / lid.
