Definitions

  • the invention relates to a machine gun with a sighting line, which has a barrel, a device with a standby position for holding the barrel and a release position for removing or inserting the barrel, and a carrying handle which is mounted in the region of said device on the machine gun and between a rest position and a position of use back and forth is movable (preamble of claim 1).
  • Lightweight machine guns and universal machine guns often have a carrying handle which is mounted near the rear end of the barrel, that is, near the center of gravity, and which is reciprocable between a rest position and a use position. In its rest position, the carrying handle is folded and rests against the housing of the machine gun. In his position of use, he stands up from the machine gun and is then set up for its transport.
  • Such machine guns should basically be as light as possible and designed for high firing sequences and overall shot numbers. Therefore, such machine guns usually have facilities that allow it to replace the barrel in the shortest possible time, such as when it is hot shot.
  • the object of the invention is to develop a machine gun of the type mentioned in such a way that the barrel change as quickly as before, but safer and more reliable. Furthermore, the device for holding and releasing the barrel should be made simpler or at least not more complicated than before.
  • the aforementioned machine gun is further developed in that the means for holding and removal or insertion of the barrel can be brought into the release position only when the carrying handle is in the position of use, wherein the line of sight is covered by the carrying handle is located ,
  • a transverse eccentric shaft for releasably supporting a barrel of an automatic firearm is known from US 2 423 854.
  • the eccentric shaft can not or not significantly exceed their end positions.
  • a rest is assigned. This catch locks the eccentric shaft and the handle in their respective end position. Only with additional effort, this lock can be overcome (claim 5).
  • the usability of the machine gun is guaranteed, but it is prevented even when the barrel is removed that then the eccentric shaft is incorrectly rotated and that a new run is then not readily usable.
  • the mechanism described prevents the end positions of the eccentric shaft are exceeded. But he does not prevent that he is heavily loaded in these end positions by hasty operation and thus possibly damaged. Therefore, it is proposed to attach a locking plate on the eccentric shaft, which absorbs such loads in the end position and thereby relieves the mechanism (claim 6).
  • the carrying handle is therefore also used as a safety device. He ensures that the machine gun is fired only when the barrel is fully engaged. If the carrying handle is in the position of use, then you can not aim with the machine gun and therefore will hardly shoot. At least the handle is in the immediate field of view of the shooter, so that an error on the latching state of the device for holding and removing the barrel is excluded.
  • Another advantage lies in the fact that when changing the one hand of the shooter is usually on the handle. To change the shooter takes his other hand the hot run on a heat-resistant handle or by means of an asbestos glove, while his one hand holds the carrying handle; the temptation to come to the aid of one hand and injure it, if necessary, is eliminated.
  • the machine gun according to the invention such that the carrying handle can only be brought into its rest position when the device for holding and removing / inserting the barrel is in its ready position. According to the invention, however, it is preferred that when the carrying handle is being moved from its position of use in its rest position the device for holding and removing / inserting the barrel is pressed into its ready position (claim 2). In fact, should the said device become stiff, for example due to dirt, then it can still be forcibly pressed into engagement with the aid of the carrying handle, without the risk that the barrel will then not be properly locked.
  • an operating lever which is adapted to rotate this shaft and which may be long enough to ensure that the unlocking of the device for removing the barrel is effortlessly possible even if, after long use in use dirt and rust in should have accumulated the device.
  • the recess is easy and cheap to produce, so that the cost that causes a change running, are minimized. Should the replacement barrel be soiled, the recess can be wiped clean by hand or with a cloth without any particular effort.
  • This embodiment is further developed in that a locking slide is pressed by a spring in locking engagement with the eccentric shaft and is pushed back from this, and that the handle located in the rest position handle blocks the pushing back of the locking slide, in the position of use but the locking slide releases (claim 4) ,
  • the eccentric shaft is automatically locked by the slide and can not be solved as long as the handle is in its rest position. The shooter can therefore always be sure that the barrel of his machine gun is in a proper position.
  • the invention can be applied for example in a delayed recoil loader, whose closure is locked in the manner of the Swiss assault rifle 57 or the German G3. But particularly advantageous is the use of the invention in a gas pressure supercharger. There, namely, the connection between the barrel and the gas channel must be separated during the barrel change, which is particularly easy, because the barrel is inserted into its receiving bore from the front in the direction of the axis of the soul (running central axis).
  • a conventional universal machine gun is shown (US M 60), which has a replaceable barrel 1, which is held in a barrel changing device 3.
  • the gas piston device 5 is separable to allow the removal of the barrel 1.
  • a carrying handle 7 is hinged mounted on the machine gun and shown in the drawing in the unfolded position. In this position, the line of sight is usually covered by the handle 7, so that this folded over before the shooting must become.
  • the barrel changing device 3 When the hot run is removed, the barrel changing device 3 must be actuated, the barrel must be grasped by means of an asbestos glove and pulled out together with the bipod 9 towards the front. In this case, the gas piston device 5 is separated so that a part of it remains on the barrel 1 and another part of the machine gun.
  • Fig. 2 the running change device 3 according to the invention is shown in section - while the machine gun of Fig. 2 and 3, pointing to the left, shows the known machine gun of FIG. 1 to the right.
  • the barrel 1 has a thickened rear end 11 in which the cartridge chamber is seated and which is inserted into a suitable bore in the housing 41 of the machine gun from the front.
  • a recess 13 is formed in the upper part of the rear running end 11. In the region of this recess 13 sits in the housing 41 a transverse, rotatable eccentric shaft 15 which engages in the firing position shown with the rear part in the recess 13 of the barrel 1 and prevents it from moving forward. The barrel 1 is thus blocked in the position shown.
  • This slide 17 has on its underside a slide block 43, while its front end is extended forward to a slide nose 23, the (after front) can emerge from the housing 41 and is einstükkig connected to the slide block 43.
  • a transverse recess 21 is formed, which is open to the front.
  • the slider block 43 sits in the recess 21.
  • the slider block 43 forms part of the slider 17 and cooperates with the recess 21 of the eccentric shaft 15 such that a significant rotation of the eccentric shaft 15 in a clockwise direction beyond the position shown in FIGS. 2 and 3 is not possible. If the (in one piece with the slider block 43 connected) slide nose 23 is not hindered in its forward movement, then the eccentric 15 from its position shown so far counterclockwise rotatable that it releases the recess 13. The barrel 1 can then be pulled forward. If the handle, which is connected to the eccentric shaft 15, now released, then this turns back substantially in its in Fig.
  • the barrel 1 has a gas hole, not shown, extending radially from below, which adjoins a gas channel 33, which is formed in a radial gas sampling piece 35.
  • a gas channel 33 which is formed in a radial gas sampling piece 35.
  • an axial gas sampling piece 37 recognized in a known manner.
  • the gas channel 33 is angled away to the rear and ends to the rear in a piston-like Einsteckblock 39.
  • This plug-in block 39 is detachably inserted from the front into a gas cylinder 27, in which in the usual way a gas piston 29 is movable. This transmits its backward movement via a linkage 31 on the non-referenced closure to initiate its release.
  • the barrel 1 can be pulled forward from the machine gun.
  • the insert block 39 of the gas piston device 5 is pulled forward from the gas cylinder 27.
  • the gas cylinder 27 may, as shown, be designed as a replaceable wear part.
  • a locking block 25 is further formed, in such a way that it faces the slider 17 and with folded carrying handle 7 (Fig. 2), ie in fire readiness of the machine gun, just before the slide nose 23 and thereby their escape from the housing 41 (forward) prevented.
  • This interaction can also be realized as a catch, wherein the slide nose 23 fixes the carrying handle 7 in its fire-ready position by resilient engagement in a recess in the locking block 25.
  • the blocking block 25 pivots in front of the slide nose 23 and releases it (FIG. 3, FIG. in which the blocking block lies in front of the drawing plane and therefore is not visible).
  • the barrel change can be performed because the eccentric shaft 15 is now rotatable.
  • the eccentric shaft 15 is namely supported in the fire-ready position of FIG. 2 on the slide 17 on the locking block 25 of the handle 7 and can only be rotated when the locking block 25 is no longer in front of the slide 17 - ie in the situation of FIG , in which the carrying handle obstructs the sight anyway. So increased security is created without any additional handle would be required on the machine gun.
  • Fig. 4 is shown as the end of the eccentric shaft 15 in a different scale. This plan view is from the right side of the machine gun; the weft direction in the drawing therefore runs to the right.
  • a rotation limiting a locking plate 47 is mounted or formed on this end, which cooperates with a recess of the housing, as shown.
  • this rotation limiting or locking plate 47 is formed such that it allows only one rotation of the eccentric shaft 15 between its two end positions only on the shortest path.
  • the locking plate 47 prevents by their engagement with the recess in the housing that further rotation beyond this end positions is possible.
  • the locking plate 47 is associated in the recess of the housing with two detents 49, which are e.g. can be designed as sprung latching balls.
  • the locking devices 49 lock the locking plate and thus the eccentric shaft in their respective end position.
