Claims (12)

  1. Manifold assembly/manifold housing comprising a collector housing fitted on top of a manifold equipped with elongated holes (26) each capable of accommodating an end of a tube, wherein the manifold (18) and the manifold housing (20) are formed by two half-shells that are generally symmetrical on either side of a common junction plane (P) and which have respective flat joints (22, 24) assembled according to said junction plane, wherein the two half-shells (18, 20) are formed by half-manifolds (34, 36) that are generally symmetrical with respect to the common junction plane (P), so as to form a complete manifold (38) when the two half-shells are assembled together, wherein the flat joints (22, 24) of the two half-shells (18, 20) continue at the half-manifold (34, 36) level and wherein the half-shells (18, 20) each have a rectangular cross section and the half-manifolds (34, 36) each have a cross section that is substantially semi-circular in shape.
  2. Manifold assembly/manifold housing according to claim 1, characterised in that the two half-shells (18, 20) are metallic, for example made of aluminium, and in that their respective flat joints (22, 24) are assembled by brazing.
  3. Manifold assembly/manifold housing according to claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the respective flat joints (22, 24) are shaped towards the outside of the half-shells.
  4. Manifold assembly/manifold housing according to claim 3, characterised in that the flat joints (22, 24) shaped towards the outside are held in place by at least one hook (32).
  5. Manifold assembly/manifold housing according to claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the respective flat joints (22, 24) are shaped towards the inside of the half-shells.
  6. Manifold assembly/manifold housing according to claim 5, characterised in that the flat joints (22, 24) shaped towards the inside form a stop for the tubes (14) of a core (12) of a heat exchanger.
  7. Manifold assembly/manifold housing according to any of claims 1 to 6, characterised in that the flat joints (22, 24) have respective cavities (40, 42) with matching shapes that are designed to engage with one another to interlock so as to hold the two half-shells in position.
  8. Manifold assembly/manifold housing according to any of claims 1 to 7, characterised in that the two half-shells (18, 20) are each formed from sheet metal.
  9. Manifold assembly/manifold housing according to claim 8, characterised in that the two half-manifolds (34, 36) are also made when the two-half-shells (18, 20) are formed.
  10. Manifold assembly/manifold housing according to any of claims 1 to 9, characterised in that at least one of the flat joints (22, 24) extends towards the outside by means of a tongue (28, 30) which is used, for example, to position and/or attach the heat exchanger.
  11. Heat exchanger comprising at least one manifold assembly/manifold housing according to any of the previous claims, as well as a core of tubes, wherein said tubes open out into the manifold.
  12. Heat exchanger according to claim 11, wherein waved separators (16) are positioned between the tubes (14) of the core.
