  4. Guard rail according to one of the claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the end flanges (15) of the spacers (11) are screwed to pressure plates (19), which are displaceable in the longitudinal direction in the C-profiles (16), thereby clamping the flanges (21) of the C-profiles (16).
  5. Guard rail according to one of the claims 1 to 4, characterised in that hollow metal profiles (35) are incorporated between the C-profiles (16) and the reinforcing straps (25).
  6. Guard rail according to one of the claims 1 to 5, characterised in that the C-profiles (16) or the hollow profiles (35) are provided with support strips (22, 34) contacting the surfaces (33) of the round wooden beams (7) above and beneath the C-profiles (16) or the hollow profiles (35).
  7. Guard rail according to one of the claims 1 to 6, characterised in that protectors (36) made from an elastic material are fastened to the C-profiles (16).
  8. Guard rail according to one of the claims 1 to 7, characterised in that fastened to the posts (5) beneath the guide rail (6) is a metal rail (37) of C-shaped cross-section made from individual sections, incorporating buffers made from pipe sections (38).
  9. Guard rail according to one of the claims 1 to 8, characterised in that where posts (5) with a C-shaped cross-section are used, additional posts (40) with a C-shaped cross-section are incorporated into the posts (5), offset by 90° in the horizontal plane.
