Abstract

A padlock has a case (1) and a U-shaped closure (2) whose ends (3, 5) locate through apertures in the housing. One end (2) has a detent (4) which blocks movement in the closed condition. The second end (5) has a groove (6) that limits movement in the open condition. The case base interior has a void that accommodates a standard half-cylinder (7) in the closed position.

Description

The invention relates to a padlock, consisting of a lock case body and a lock shackle, which is received with its shackle ends by recesses in the lock case body, a first shackle end having a recess for blocking a shackle movement in the closed state and a second shackle end having a groove for limiting the movement of the shackle in the open state , according to the preamble of claim 1.

Padlocks in different designs with different locking systems are state of the art.

In the case of known padlocks, specially adapted profile cylinders are used. A large number of specially manufactured locking elements are required to transmit the rotary movement of the key. This results in the need for separate production and cost-intensive storage of the required variety of parts.

There are basically manufacturer-specific solutions so that a defective locking cylinder from one manufacturer cannot be replaced by a locking cylinder from another manufacturer. This means that there is no compatibility, which is ultimately a disadvantage for the end customer or customer.

As is known, the dimensions of locking cylinders or half-locking cylinders for mortise locks or similar locking systems correspond to German industrial standard DIN 18252. This standard concerns, among other things, the external dimensions of such locking cylinders, which are basically interchangeable with the correspondingly standardized production. In the event of a change of ownership, for example an apartment, it is therefore easy to replace a locking cylinder with a new cylinder without having to replace or dismantle the entire lock.

From the foregoing, it is therefore an object of the invention to provide a further developed padlock consisting of a lock case body and a lock shackle, the actual locking mechanism to be realized in a particularly simple manner by standard components, so that the costs both in the manufacture and reduced the storage of padlocks or lock case bodies and there is also the possibility of integrating padlocks in locking system systems without special components.

The object of the invention is achieved with a padlock, consisting of a lock case body, according to the features of claim 1, the subclaims representing at least expedient refinements and developments.

Basically, a padlock consists of a lock case body and a lock shackle, which is received with its shackle ends by recesses in the lock case body and wherein a first shackle end has a recess or a clearing for blocking a shackle movement in the closed state. A second shackle end of the lock shackle has a groove for limiting the movement of the shackle in the open state, i.e. in the vertical direction.

According to the invention, in the bottom area of the lock case body opposite the lock shackle, an inwardly extending recess oriented parallel to the shackle ends is now provided for the complete accommodation of a standard half-lock cylinder. The lock beard of one then inserted standard half-lock cylinder engages in the closed position in the recess or the franking at the first bracket end, the width of the recess essentially corresponds to the width of the lock bit.

This defined recess for receiving the standard half-lock cylinder makes it possible to use such a standard component in the lock case body without further locking elements and to effect a secure locking.

In other words, the lock bit of the standard half-lock cylinder used serves as a locking element and, in contrast to known padlocks, no additional locking elements are necessary.

The lock bracket is matched to the associated hole in the lock case body so that when the lock bracket is pressed in, the clearance is exactly at the level of the lock bit. When the standard half-lock cylinder is locked, the lock bit is pivoted into the clearing of the shackle and remains in this position after the key has been removed. This closes the bracket.

If the standard half-lock cylinder is unlocked, the locking bar swivels out of the release of the shackle and in this way the shackle is released, which is then pressed out of the lock case body by a compression spring located in the housing, in particular a helical compression spring.

A shackle locking pin located in a groove in the inner end of the recess for the standard half-lock cylinder prevents the lock shackle from coming out completely, or the second shackle end, which has a groove for limiting the movement of the shackle in the open state.

The recess in the lock case body is preferably realized in such a way that the transverse axis of the standard half-lock cylinder runs essentially diagonally with respect to the cross-sectional area of the lock case body.

As mentioned above, the length of the temple ends with locking recess is designed so that when the bracket is pressed in, the locking recess or the clearance is located at the height of the locking bar.

The cutout for the temple ends, in particular for the second temple end, is realized as a hole in the bottom area of which the helical compression spring is located.

Furthermore, there is a hole in the lock case body for a conventional fastening screw, in particular a set screw, for the standard half-lock cylinder.

The lateral edges of the lock case body have a chamfer, the top of the case body being designed as an inclined surface, so that when an attempt is made to use force, an attached tool cannot be attached or can only be attached with great disadvantages, and this results in improved properties of such a padlock.

The shackle pin is preferably designed as a cylindrical pin, which engages with its side facing the second shackle end in a circumferential groove provided there, which enables the shackle to be freely rotated or pivoted, but prevents the shackle from completely coming out of the lock case body.

When the standard half-lock cylinder is removed by loosening the fastening screw or the set screw and swiveling out the lock bit from the release of the shackle by means of the closing movement of the key, the preferably cylindrical shackle pin can be removed, so that in this way a complete assembly by removing the lock shackle and the Helical compression spring can be effected. In the opposite sense, the padlock can be easily installed.

Of particular advantage is the fact that the padlock according to the invention consists of only a few, essentially two parts, namely the lock case with profile cylinder opening and the actual padlock bracket. The helical compression spring, which pushes out the lock shackle when unlocking the half-lock cylinder to be used, is an accessory.

Both the special lock case body and a preassembled variant consisting of the lock case body, lock shackle, helical compression spring and shackle locking pin can be commercially available.

The invention will be explained in more detail below using an exemplary embodiment and with the aid of figures.

The padlock according to the embodiment consists of a lock case body 1 or a metallic housing body.

Furthermore, a lock shackle 2 is provided, which is received with its shackle ends by the lock case body 1. A first bracket end 3 has a recess or clearance 4 for blocking a bracket movement in the closed state and a second bracket end 5 has a groove 6 for limiting the movement of the bracket 2 in the open state.

In the bottom area of the lock case body 1 opposite the lock shackle 2, an inwardly extending recess parallel to the shackle ends 3, 4 is introduced for the complete reception of a standard half-lock cylinder 7, the lock bit 8 engaging in the recess 4 in the closed position.

The width of the recess 4 or the design thereof essentially corresponds to the dimensions of the locking bar 8.

As can be seen from the lower illustration according to FIG. 2, the transverse axis of the standard half-lock cylinder 7 runs essentially diagonally with respect to the cross-sectional area of the lock case body 1.

The length of the bracket ends 3 and 5 is designed so that when the bracket 2 is pressed in, the locking recess 4 or the clearance is located at the level of the locking bar 8 of the standard half-lock cylinder 7.

The recess for the second bracket end 5 is a bore, in the bottom region 9 of which a helical compression spring 10 is located.

In the inner end of the recess for the standard half-lock cylinder 7, a groove for a shackle locking pin 11 is formed, the groove extending essentially perpendicular to the second shackle end 5.

Furthermore, a bore for a fastening screw 12 of the standard half-lock cylinder 7 is provided in the lock case body 1.

The lateral edges 13 of the lock case body 1 have a chamfer, the upper side 14 and two side surfaces 15 of the lock case body 1 being designed as an inclined surface, as shown in FIG. 2, so that a tool which may be attached during the attempted break-in slides and thereby increases the security when using the padlock is.

The quasi-diagonal position of the standard half-lock cylinder 7 in the lock case body 1 enables an optimal use of space with minimized overall dimensions of the case body itself. By loosening the fastening screw 12 and pivoting out the lock bit from the release of the shackle by means of the closing movement of the key, the standard half-lock cylinder 7 can be easily replaced and be replaced.

The lock case body with lock bracket is easy to keep in stock and can then be combined with a standard half-lock cylinder to a finished product, depending on the customer's requirements.
