Definitions
- the invention relates to a high-frequency RF switching device for switching high-frequency signals.
- Such switching devices are basically known in the art. An example of this is in FIG. 5 and is described in more detail below:
- the HF switching device shown has a high-frequency input HF-E for supplying high-frequency signals and a high-frequency output HF-A for outputting the high-frequency signals when the RF switching device 100 is open or is turned on.
- the high-frequency input HF-E and the high-frequency output HF-A are connected to one another via a connecting line structure 110.
- the connection line structure is formed as a series circuit and comprises in the FIG. 5 Seen from left to right, the high-frequency input HF-E, a first capacitor C1, a first line structure element 112 of length ⁇ 8th . , a second line structure element 114 of length ⁇ 4 . a third line structure element 116 of length ⁇ 8th .
- a first diode path 120-1 is connected to a connection point 113.
- This comprises a series connection consisting of a line structure element 120-1-1 of length ⁇ 4 and a diode 120-1-2, wherein the anode of the diode is connected to the line structure element 120-1-1 and the cathode of the diode 120-1-2 is grounded.
- the end of the line structure element 120-1-1 which is not connected to the anode of the diode, is connected between the first and the second line structure element 112, 114 of the connection line structure 110.
- a second diode path 120-2 is similarly constructed Like the first diode path 120-1 and thus also comprises a line structure element 120-2-1 and a diode 120-2-2. Also, the cathode of this diode is connected to ground, while its anode is connected to one end of the line structure element 120-2-1. The other end of this structure element is connected between the second and the third line structure element 114, 116 of the connection line structure 110.
- the known RF switching device 100 also includes a low-frequency input NF-E for applying a switching voltage, preferably 5 volts or 0 volts or - 5 volts, via an RF coupling circuit 130 to the connection point between the first and second line structure element 112, 114th the trunk line structure 110 is connected.
- the RF coupling circuit 130 is formed as a low-pass filter so that it passes low-frequency signals and DC voltages while blocking high-frequency signals.
- line structure elements can be considered short circuits in the case of low frequency viewing.
- line structure elements of length act ⁇ 2 as a short circuit.
- Line structure elements of length ⁇ 4 act as a high-frequency impedance transformer by transforming a low-resistance terminal at its one end into a high-resistance terminal at its other end.
- the blocking state is first described, that is, the behavior of the device when a DC voltage of, for example, 0 volts is applied to the low frequency input NF-E.
- all the line structure elements 112, 114, 116, 120-1-1 and 120-2-1 can then be considered as short circuits. This means that even at all connection points of these structural elements, a voltage of 0 volts is applied.
- the diodes 120-1-2 and 120-2-2 are then both connected between 0 volts and ground, that is, they are high impedance and lock.
- the RF coupling circuit 130 can now be used as a series resistor for the two diodes be considered. At a switching voltage of 0 volts, however, no voltage drops across this RF coupling circuit 130.
- both diodes 120-1-2 and 120-2-2 are disabled.
- the diodes applies equally to a high frequency consideration. That is, the anodes of both diodes can be considered high impedance. However, in contrast to the low-frequency consideration, in the case of the following high-frequency consideration, the line structure elements can no longer be regarded as short-circuits. Thus, the line structure element 120-2-1 of the second diode path 120-2 now transforms due to its length ⁇ 4 the high-resistance connection point to the anode of the diode 120-2-2 in a low-resistance connection point 115 between the second and the third 114, 116 line structure element of the connection line structure 110.
- connection point 115 is in turn of the second line structure element 114 with the length ⁇ 4 transformed into a high-impedance left end of the line structure element 114.
- FIG entire right part of the RF switching device 100 to be regarded as high impedance and therefore does not need to be considered in terms of high frequency.
- no high-frequency signals can be coupled into this part of the circuit due to its high impedance, which means that no RF signals can be coupled out via the HF output HF-A;
- the RF switching device 100 blocks.
- the line structure element 120-1-1 of the first diode path 120-1 transforms its high-resistance connection point to the anode of the diode 120-1-2 into a low-resistance connection point 113 between the first and the second structure element 112, 114 of the connection line structure 110.
- the following is a description of the operation of the circuit 100 for a switching voltage of, for example, 5 volts, that is, a conductive state.
- This state of the diodes also applies to the following high-frequency consideration. Because the diodes conduct, their anodes can each be considered low impedance. High frequency, the two line structure elements 120-1-1 and 120-2-1 of the two act Diode paths 120-1 and 120-2 each as an impedance transformer and cause a high resistance of the connection points 113 and 115. This has the consequence that the two diode paths 120-1 and 120-2 can be ignored for the operation of the switching device in high frequency operation. What remains is only the connection line structure 110, at the connection point 113 via the coupling circuit 130, a switching voltage of 5 volts is applied.
- the two capacitors C1 and C2 are to be regarded in terms of high frequency as a short circuit, in this situation, the high-frequency input HF-E high-frequency directly connected to the high-frequency output HF-A, that is, the RF switching device 100 is turned on.
- the two diode paths 120-1 and 120-2 both extend spatially in the same direction, that is, downwards, away from the connection line structure 110. This has the consequence that their two line structure elements 120-1-1 and 120-2-1 are spatially close to each other and directly opposite, so that there is undesirable interactions of the magnetic and electric fields of these two line structure elements, that is to a crosstalk between These two line structure elements can come. In other words, the isolation between these two diode paths in their arrangement shown is small.
- Document XP010063048 describes the analysis of a microstrip line having a T-shaped connection, considering scattering parameters of both dominant modes and higher order modes.
- a microwave signal switch that has a circular array of quarter wave lines and diode branches.
- the EP 0 446 050 A describes a high-frequency switching device that can be switched between a transmitting and a receiving direction.
- JP 2000 013104 A describes a circuit arrangement consisting of a plurality of unit switches, each unit switch having a transmission line and a diode.
- JP06232657 A describes another high-frequency switching device for an amplifier.
- isolation is to be understood as a reversal of the term “crosstalk”, that is to say a good insulation means only a slight crosstalk and vice versa.
- the diodes are generally considered ideal, that is to say that they behave in the same way in terms of low frequency and high frequency.
- a sufficiently high isolation between them is achieved by the claimed spatial arrangement of the diode paths, which is why the RF circuit device according to the invention is also suitable for applications which require such a high isolation.
- Such applications are, for example, pulse radars for parking aids, blind spot detection or for accident warning devices in motor vehicles.
- a particularly large insulation between the adjacent diode paths is advantageously achieved in that they extend in opposite directions.
- FIG. 1 shows a first embodiment of the inventive RF switching device 100.
- the basic structure and its operation are the same as described above for the in FIG. 5 shown HF switching device have been explained.
- Identical components are designated in all figures of the description with the same reference numerals.
- the main difference between the in FIG. 1 shown RF switching device and the in FIG. 5 is shown in that the second diode path 120-2 extends opposite to the interconnect line structure 110 in an opposite direction as the first diode path 120-1.
- FIG. 1 This is illustrated by the fact that the first diode path 120-1 extends downward at right angles to the connection line structure 110, while the second diode path 120-2 extends at right angles to the connection line structure 110.
- such an arrangement of the components can be realized on a flat board.
- FIG. 2 shows a second embodiment of the RF switching device 100 according to the invention, which differs from the in FIG. 1 only differs in that the diodes 120-1-2 and 120-2-2 in the two diode paths 120-1 and 120-2 are respectively reversed poled. Specifically, lie in FIG. 2 the anodes of the two diodes (120-1-2, 120-2-2) are each grounded, while their cathodes are connected to the respective line structure elements 120-1-1 and 120-2-1 of the respective diode paths.
- This reverse installation of the diodes only changes the potential of the low-frequency switching voltage, and in terms of frequency, this has no effect on the mode of operation of the circuit nor on the high insulation required according to the invention between the two line-structure elements of the diode paths.
- FIG. 3 shows a third embodiment of the invention with an over the first and second embodiments modified RF switching device.
- this modified RF switching device 100 'differs from that in FIG. 1 shown RF switching device 100 characterized in that the second line structure element 114 of the connection line structure is split here into two sub-line structure elements 114-1 and 114-3. These two line structure elements are connected to each other via a connection point 114-2. Furthermore, now that connection point of the RF coupling circuit 130, which is formed as LF input NF-E, not connected to the connection point 113, but to the connection point 114-2. Furthermore, a third diode path 120-3 is coupled to this connection point 114-2. The coupling takes place more precisely about one end of a ⁇ 4 Line structure element 120-3-1 of this diode path. The other end of this line structure element 120-3-1 is connected to the anode of a diode 120-3-2 whose cathode is grounded.
- the insulation between the line structure elements 120-1-1, 120-2-1 and 120-3-1 is maximized in this embodiment in that they are spatially far apart.
- the spatial separation is realized here in particular in that the third diode path 120-3 extends, starting from the connection point 114-2 of the connection line structure 110 ', in an opposite direction to the two other diode paths 120-1 and 120-2.
- the respective line structure elements 120-1-1, 120-2-1 and 120-3-1 convert the respective high-resistance anode potentials into low-resistance potentials at their connection points 113, 114-2 and 115 to the connection line structure 110 '.
- the line structure element 114-3 it converts this starting from the low-resistance connection point 115 on its right side this in a high-impedance left side.
- the entire right-hand part of the connection line structure 110 ' that is, the parts 114-3, 120-2, and C2 have an overall high resistance, and therefore not high-frequency considerations to take into account.
- connection point 114-2 low-impedance.
- This low-resistance state at the connection point 114-2 is determined by the line structure element 114-1 due to its length ⁇ 4 transformed into a high-impedance left side.
- This connection point 113 is low-impedance via the diode path 120-1, that is to say no power can be fed into it from the HF input HF-E, as described above with reference to FIG FIG. 5 was explained.
- the RF coupling circuit 130 acts as a series resistor for all diodes in the diode paths 120-1, 120-2, 120-3. In each case then their diode voltage drops across the diodes. The diodes are switched on and conduct. This means that all the anode potentials of the diodes 120-1-2, 120-2-2 and 120-3-2 are low-impedance.
- FIG. 4 shows a fourth embodiment of the invention, which is constructed similar to that in FIG. 1 shown first embodiment.
- the difference from the first embodiment is that the diode paths have no line structure elements here.
- the two diodes were grounded in the same direction away from the trunk structure, then high frequency crosstalk between the masses would be possible. Therefore, according to the invention proposed, even with such a configuration of the diode paths without respective line structure elements to arrange the respective diodes with respect to the connecting line structure in the opposite direction, as for example in FIG. 4 is shown. In this way, an improved isolation and thus a reduction of the crosstalk between the diode paths is achieved here, whereby the fourth embodiment of the RF switching device is suitable for applications that require an increased isolation between the diode paths.

Description

JP 2000 013104 A -

- Figur 2
- ein zweites Ausführungsbeispiel der erfindungsgemäßen HF-Schaltvorrichtung;
- Figur 3
- ein drittes Ausführungsbeispiel der HF-Schaltvorrichtung;
- Figur 4
- ein viertes Ausführungsbeispiel der HF-Schaltvorrichtung; und
- Figur 5
- eine HF-Schaltvorrichtung gemäß dem Stand der Technik
-
