Definitions
- the invention relates to a web treatment device, in particular a calender, with at least one roller, over which a path is passed and a steam issuing humidifier.
- the invention is based on a paper web described as an example of a train. However, it is also applicable to other railways operating in the course of their Manufacturing or machining exposed to moisture Need to become.
- a paper web is in the course of its manufacture in usually satined, i.e. passed through a calender, and there with increased pressure and with increased temperature applied. In many cases you try also, the moisture profile of the web across the direction of travel to even out. This will cause moisture applied to the web and often with the help of so-called steam humidifiers that steam towards spend on the web.
- the steam output can be in Width direction of the web, i.e. across their direction of travel, be controlled zone by zone so that some areas get more steam and other areas less steam. The steam condenses on the surface of the Web and thus gives moisture and heat to the web from.
- the object of the invention is humidification to enable at higher web speeds.
- the moistening device preferably has a housing on that arranged at a distance from the roller is, a between the roller and the housing Seal is arranged. It is achieved that between the humidifier and the roller Space arises in which there is practically no air boundary layer can train more on the railway. An intrusion of air in this space between the humidifier housing and roller is avoided by the seal. You can also see the front of this room take appropriate measures to ensure that a Entry of air is prevented. After a certain Operating time can be assumed that this Has filled the room with steam, so that the train itself faces a steam atmosphere when it is from the The roller lifts off. So at most there can be a vapor boundary layer form. This boundary layer does, however the desired moistening of the web.
- the housing is expediently constructed with two walls, with between an inner wall and an outer wall also circulate steam can. This prevents Precipitate condensate on the outside of the outside can then drip onto the track.
- the seal is preferably attached to the housing and lies against the roller.
- the roller rubs against the Poetry. This will create gaps between the case and avoided the roller. Accordingly, there is a steam outlet practically not or only in this area possible to a very small extent. You concentrate the Steam where you want it, namely at the Surface of the web.
- the seal is about 90 ° to a line staggered at which the web from the roller takes off. If you assume that the housing in Direction of travel of the web has a certain extent and the rest of the case has a box shape, then the arrangement of the seal is about 90 ° from the Line away where the web leaves the roller, one constructively relatively simple measure to a good one To ensure tightness. The construction effort will kept small.
- the moistening device preferably has a in the gusset between the roller and the web directed steam outlet. You can use the Steam outlet the space between the housing and the Fill the roller quickly and permanently with steam. Also a Steam removal through the one running off the roller Rail does not cause air to enter this room can. The steam application to the web is improved.
- the moistening device in the direction of travel of the web has an extension. This extends the Steam exposure time to the web. This is particularly so an advantage for high-speed railways, enough Transfer moisture to the web.
- extension as a cover is designed without dispensing steam. With this configuration one also achieves that the steam delivery can be kept small in the area. The steam between the web and the humidifier held until it is almost completely open the web is condensed.
- the extension preferably has one in the running direction the thickness decreasing along the path across the path. Because the extension is mainly on the humidifier housing is supported, you hold onto it Way the mechanical loads small.
- roller is cooled. This leads to reinforcement on the surface of the roller Condensate is formed, which is transferred from there to the train becomes.
- the condensate has the advantage that it is air layer adhering to the web when it hits the air Roller disturbs. In addition, the web is through the Roller cooled. This leads to the steam still more condensed.
- roller is designed as a guide roller is.
- the guide roller is in front of a nip of a calender. Humidification is special there advantageous.
- the figure shows a treatment device designed as a calender 1 with two rollers 2, 3 between form a nip 4 through which a web 5, for example a paper web is guided.
- a web 5 for example a paper web is guided.
- Bahn 5 has a running direction 6.
- the web 5 is with increased pressure and usually also at elevated temperature applied. This is supposed to be surface properties the web can be improved.
- a guide roller 7 is in front of the nip 4 in the direction of web travel arranged over which the web 5 is guided.
- the wrap angle around the guide roller is relatively large. in the in the present case it is almost 180 °. In most Cases, the wrap angle of the web is around the Guide roller 7 but at least 100 °.
- a moistening device 8 is arranged on the same side of the web 5, on which the guide roller 7 is arranged.
- the moistening device 8 has a housing 9, arranged at a certain distance from the guide roller 7 is.
- a seal 10 is arranged at this distance, which is attached to the housing 9 and on the guide roller 7 is sliding. However, you can also get one Gap between the seal 10 and the guide roller 7 provide, but this gap as small as possible should be kept.
- the housing 9 is in a manner not shown double-walled with an outer wall and an inner wall formed, being in the space between the outer wall and the inner wall circulates steam and with it the outer wall is heated. This prevents yourself from condensation on the outside wall, which on the web can drip down.
- the housing has on its underside facing the web 5 11 a series of steam outlet openings 12 on.
- Another steam outlet opening 13 is in one Space 14 directed between the housing 9 and the guide roller 7.
- the steam outlet opening 13 is preferred even in the outlet gusset 15 between the Web 5 and the guide roller 7 directed so that the Lane 5, more specifically that of the humidifier 8 facing side of the web when lifting off the guide roller 7 immediately faces a steam atmosphere.
- the seal 10 is offset by approximately 90 ° to a line 16 arranged on which the web 5 lifts off the guide roller 7.
- the room 14 is then, so to speak, an isosceles Triangle bounded, its base curved is because it is formed by the surface of the roller 7 is.
- the seal 10 can be substantially radial to the Roller 7 are turned on so that you have the required Contact pressure can easily be applied without the There is a risk that the seal 10 during operation the guide roller 7 is damaged.
- the moistening device 8 points in the running direction 6 the web 5 an extension 17, which is simply as Cover is formed without steam dispensing.
- the extension 17 allows the steam to last longer Time to act on the surface of the web 5.
- the Steam flowing through the steam outlet openings 12, 13 can be ejected completely or at least condense almost completely on the web 5. this has the added benefit of having less steam in the environment can escape.
- the extension 17 points in Direction 6 of the web 5 has a decreasing thickness. This keeps the stress on the connection between Extension 17 and housing 9 small.
- the extension 17 preferably consists of a metal, which is under Circumstances can be heated via the housing 9 to Avoid formation of condensate. But also a plastic with low heat capacity and low thermal conductivity is possible.
- the mode of operation of the treatment device is thereby as follows:
- Such means can, for example, grooves in the Surface of the guide roller, for example run helically outwards. Such Measures are in connection with guide rollers per se known. They are used to run sideways to prevent the web 5 on the guide roller 7.
- the web 5 When lifting off the guide roller 7, the web 5 has practically no more disturbing air boundary layer. This would go back shortly after taking off train and especially at higher speeds the web 5 assume a considerable thickness, which are no longer so easily penetrated by a steam jet could be.
- the guide roller 17 can also be cooled.
- the used for this Means are known per se and therefore not shown in more detail.
- the cooling of the guide roller 17 can for example, by supplying cooling water.
- the cooling has several effects. For one thing, on the Surface of the guide roller 7 increasingly creates condensate, which is transferred from there to lane 5.
- the Web 5 strikes guide roller 7 when it runs up a layer of moisture that may Air boundary layer interferes.
