Definitions
- the invention relates to a circuit arrangement for a pulse width modulated controllable electromagnetic regeneration valve for tank ventilation of a motor vehicle, comprising a voltage source for supplying the magnetic coil of the regeneration valve with electrical energy, a control unit for generating pulse width modulated signals and a switching device via which the magnetic coil with the pulse width modulated signals of the control unit can be acted upon ,
- a regeneration valve is usually an electromagnetic driven valve comprising a solenoid, an armature with sealing element, a sealing seat and a return spring (closing spring).
- the armature In the energized state, the armature lifts the sealing element against the spring force of the closing spring from the sealing seat by the magnetic force of the coil and thereby releases the flow opening.
- the valve In the de-energized state, the sealing element is pressed by the closing spring on the sealing seat, the valve is in Scht manposition.
- the control of the regeneration valve via the engine control, which determines the respective maximum loadable air-fuel mass flow according to the respective load state of the internal combustion engine and converts it into a corresponding control signal.
- the regeneration valve is usually pulsed (pulse width modulated) driven and outputs, depending on the motor control each predetermined duty cycle, different dosing discontinuously.
- Tastverhit is in this context, the ratio between the total period, d. H. the period of the open and closed valve, the period of the open valve understood.
- the clock frequency is selected to be so high that the valve can no longer follow the oscillating excitation and instead remains in a position that corresponds to the respective mean coil current
- the publication FR 2797022 shows a solenoid valve in which a zener diode is used to protect a transistor from voltage spikes.
- a disadvantage of the known regeneration valves of the type described above is that it is both clocked and pulse-width modulated proportional operation to an undesirable noise, which has not yet been prevented.
- the object of the invention is to provide a circuit arrangement for an electromagnetic regeneration valve for tank ventilation of a motor vehicle, by means of which the noise can be significantly reduced both in clocked and in proportional operation.
- a pulse width modulated controllable electromagnetic regeneration valve for tank ventilation of a motor vehicle which is a voltage source for supplying the magnetic coil of the regeneration valve with electrical energy, a control unit for generating pulse width modulated signals and a switching device via which the magnetic coil with the pulse width modulated signals Control unit is acted upon, comprises means for suppressing high induced voltages to the solenoid provided.
- these means are a so-called freewheeling diode, which is connected in parallel to the magnetic coil.
- the regeneration valve is preferably activated in proportional operation at a pulse frequency between 20 Hz and 200 Hz. It has been found that in the commonly used clocked proportional valves, the valve characteristic (mass flow as a function of pulse duration) becomes steeper and non-linear with an increase in the pulse frequency, which leads to a deterioration of the dosing accuracy. This behavior can be explained by the fact that on the one hand by the inductance of the coil, the current build-up in the coil is slowed down and on the other hand, the inertia of the mass to be moved is overcome. With increasing pulse frequency thus a higher coil current for opening the valve gap is required. In proportional operation, the pulse frequency is preferably about 50 Hz. It has been shown that this frequency is already sufficient to ensure a quasi-proportional operation in which a coil current always flows and thus the valve armature does not strike.
- the circuit arrangement according to the invention has the advantage that the currently located in motor vehicles control electronics can be left, which is to be evaluated as a significant cost advantage, since nothing prevents the use of the circuit in existing series.
- the inventive Circuit arrangement can be used both for the clocked and for the proportional operation.
- Fig. 1 shows the block diagram of the control of the regeneration valve.
- the magnetic circuit of the valve is represented by the resistance R Sp and the inductance L Sp .
- Parallel to this, the freewheeling diode D f used according to the invention is shown.
- the power transistor, in which a diode D s is integrated for protection purposes, is controlled by control pulses of constant frequency and variable pulse width and thus switches the battery or vehicle electrical system voltage U b to the valve.
- the control is usually via the engine control.
- the pulse width modulated control of a solenoid valve and in particular in a motor vehicle is known per se and often described, which is why at this point not further discussed.
- Fig. 2 shows by way of example the course of the current in the magnetic coil at a pulse frequency of 50 Hz in proportional operation and a) without a freewheeling diode a duty cycle of 20%, b) with freewheeling diode with a duty cycle of 20% and c) with a duty cycle of 90% with freewheeling diode. It can be seen that the current reduction with free-wheeling diode is significantly slowed down. At a duty cycle of 90%, the coil current is always greater than 0. The effect on the armature movement shows Fig. 3 , With a duty cycle of 20% a) without free-wheeling diode, the behavior compared to the free-wheeling diode b) is significantly rougher.
- the anchor returns very quickly to the rest position, which is obviously due to the massive noise. It is even in the embodiment with diode a very gentle closing behavior of the valve, the noise. is significantly reduced. With a duty cycle of 90% with freewheeling diode c) it is no longer possible to close the valve. This leads to a complete freedom from noise.
- circuit arrangement according to the invention leads not only in proportional operation at high pulse frequencies to a significant noise reduction, but due to the slow current reduction after a pulse in the clocked operation.

Description
- Figur 1
- ein Blockschaltbild einer bevorzugten Ausführungsform der Erfindung;
- Figur 2

Fig.1 . -
