Abstract
Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf ein Verfahren zum Laserstrahllöten von Aluminiumlegierungen, wobei die Fügestellen mit einem Laserenergie absorbierenden Mittel beschichtet werden. Als Laserenergie absorbierende Mittel werden zum Aluminiumlöten geeignete Flussmittel, insbesondere Kaliumfluoroaluminat enthaltende Flussmittel, Flussmittelpasten oder Flussmittellmetallpulvermischungen, verwendet.

Laserstrahllöten von Aluminiumlegierungen
Beschreibung
Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Laserstrahllöten von Aluminiumlegierungen unter Verwendung eines geeigneten Flußmittels.
Beim Löten werden metallische Werkstoffe mit Hilfe eines geschmolzenen Lotes verbunden. Flußmittel werden beim Löten eingesetzt, um für eine saubere Oberfläche und damit für eine feste Verbindung der Werkstoffe zu sorgen.
Das Laserstrahllöten stellt ein alternatives thermisches Fügeverfahren dar, um z. B. Bauteile aus Aluminiumlegierungen oder Bauteile aus Aluminium und Bauteile aus anderen Werkstoffen Stoffschlüssig aneinanderzufügen. Der Einsatz von Laserstrahlung wird dort bevorzugt, wenn die zu verbindenden Bauteile nur partiell einer Erwärmung ausgesetzt sein dürfen.
Beim Laserlöten wird die erforderliche Wärme durch die Umwandlung gebündelter energiereicher Strahlung beim Auftreffen auf das Werkstück fokussiert. Durch den absorbierten Anteil der Laserstrahlung wird das Werkstück auf Löttemperatur erwärmt und das Lot abgeschmolzen, so daß es die zu fügenden Oberflächen benetzen kann.
Unter dem Gesichtspunkt eines effektiven Lötprozesses kommt der Absorption der LaserStrahlung eine zentrale Bedeutung zu, da für den Fügeprozeß nur der Energieanteil der Laserstrahlung zur Verfügung steht.
Die Absorptionsrate kann z . B. durch geeignete Coating- ittel verbessert werden. So verbessert Graphit die Absorptionsrate von Stahl.
Für das Fügen von Aluminiumlegierungen ist Graphit auf Grund seiner korrosiven Eigenschaften jedoch nicht geeignet.
Aufgabe der vorliegenden Erfindung ist es, ein Verfahren zum Laserstrahllöten von Aluminiumlegierungen anzugeben, wobei Laserenergie absorbierende Hilfsmittel Verwendung finden sollen.
Die Aufgabe wird dadurch gelöst, daß die Aluminiumbauteile an der zu fügenden Stelle mit einem die Laserenergie absorbierenden Hilfsmittel beschichtet sind, wobei eine homogene Benetzung bzw. Beschichtung gewährleistet sein muß, um exakte Lotverbindungen zu realisieren.
Als Laserenergie absorbierende Hilfsmittel werden die zum Aluminiumlöten geeigneten Flußmittel, insbesondere ali- umfluoroaluminat enthaltende Flußmittel, Flußmittelpasten o- der Flußmittelmetallpulvermischungen verwendet. Der Begriff "Kaliumfluoraluminat" umfaßt die bekannten komplexen Aluminiumfluoride des Kaliums, welche aus Kalium, Aluminium, Fluor und gegebenenfalls Wasser zusammengesetzt sind. Bevorzugte Flußmittel sind ebenfalls Cäsiumfluoroaluminat-Flußmittel o- der Gemische dieser Flußmittel mit Al/Si-, Al/Zn- oder Si- Pulver. Die aktiven Flußmittel wie K2SiF6, KZnF oder CsSiF sind ebenfalls geeignet.
Flußmittel im Sinne der Erfindung können z. B. als Kali- umfluoroaluminat KAlF4, KA1F5, K2A1F3-H20 oder K3A1F6 enthalten. Dabei kann das Pentafluoraluminat auch in Form von irreversibel dehydratisierten Produkten vorliegen.
Man kann das Flußmittel als solches, gegebenenfalls unter Mitverwendung üblicher Hilfsstoffe, einsetzen.
Beispielsweise kann man als Hilfsstoff ein Bindemittel vorsehen, welches das Haften des Flußmittels auf der Ober- , fläche der zu verbindenden Aluminiumbauteile verbessert.
Zweckmäßig verwendet man das Flußmittel in Form einer Flußmittelzubereitung, welche das Flußmittel als Aufschläm- mung oder Paste in Wasser, einer organischen Flüssigkeit oder einem Gemisch von Wasser und organischer Flüssigkeit enthält. Als organische Flüssigkeit sind Alkohole insbesondere Methanol, Ethanol, Propanσl oder Isopropanol zu verstehen.
Zur Herstellung der Zubereitung kann man z. B. K2SiF6 und Kaliumfluoraluminat einzeln oder als Gemisch mit der flüssigen Phase vermischen.
Der Gehalt an Wasser bzw. der organischen Flüssigkeit wird so eingestellt, daß die gewünschte Konsistenz bezüglich der Aufschlämmung bzw. der Paste erreicht wird.
Das Beschichten der zu verlötenden Fügestellen kann auf herkömmliche Weise erfolgen, z. B. durch Besprühen, Berieseln, Bestreuen, Bestreichen. Die Beschichtung der Metalloberfläche mit dem Laserenergie absorbierenden Hilfsmittel beträgt 3 bis 50 g/m2. Ist das Hilfsmittel ein Flußmittel o- der Flußmittelgemisch, beträgt die Beladung der Oberfläche zweckmäßigerweise 10 bis 20 g/m2. Wird ein Flußmittel/Metallpulvergemisch verwendet, beträgt die Beladung zweckmäßigerweise 30 bis 40 g/m2.
Es wurde gefunden, daß unter Verwendung der genannten Laserenergie absorbierenden Hilfsmittel Aluminiumlegierungen unterschiedlicher Zusammensetzungen, insbesondere Mg-haltige Aluminiumlegierungen mittels Laserstrahl gelötet werden können.
Das Verfahren ist ebenfalls für das Verbinden lotplattierter Legierungen geeignet.
Auch das Laserstrahllöten von Aluminium mit anderen Metallen wie z. B. Stahl, Kupfer, Eisen, Titan u.s.w., wird durch das Beschichten der Fügestellen mit den genannten Hilfsmitteln ermöglicht.
Die Lötungen können sowohl mit kontinuierlicher als auch mit gepulster Laserstrahlung durchgeführt werden. Geeignet sind z. B. NdrYAG-Festkörperlaser oder C02-Laser.
Die Laserstrahlleistung legt unmittelbar die Leistungsdichte und die Streckenenergie fest. Die Lötgeschwindigkeit ist direkt von der Streckenenergie abhängig. Das verwendete Prozeßgas und die jeweilige Prozeßgasmenge beeinflußt im Bereich der Wechselwirkungszone des Lötprozesses die Oxidation und/oder je nach Gasart auch die Reduktion der Lötfläche.
In einer bevorzugten Ausführungsform wurde ein C02-Laser mit einer Leistung von 1,5 kW verwendet.
Aufgrund der für das Laserstrahllöten charakteristischen kurzen Lötzeiten, kurze Strahl-Werkstoff-Wechselwirkung und der damit verbundenen kleinen Schmelzvolumina ist die räumliche Ausdehnung der Fügestelle sehr schmal.
Es wurde gefunden, daß Aluminiumplatten mit einer Dicke bis zu 3 mm problemlos gelötet werden können.
Das erfindungsgemäße Laserstrahllötverfahren kann z. B. im Apparatebau, im Fahrzeugbau, insbesondere Automobilbau, eingesetzt werden. Man kann auch beispielsweise dünne Folien verlöten.
Die nachfolgenden Beispiele sollen die Erfindung erläutern, ohne sie in ihrem Umfang einzuschränken.

3 mm dicke Aluminiumplatten (100 x 20 mm) wurden an der Fügestelle mit Kaliumfluoraluminat (Nocolok) auf Basis von KalF4 und K2A1F5 beschichtet. Als Schutzgas wurde Argon und als Laser ein C02-Laser (Typ OPL 1800) verwendet.
Laserspaltbreite: 2 mm Lötdauer 0,2 s bis 1 s
Vorschubgeschwindigkeit: 50 bis 70 mm/min.

Versuchsdurchführung analog Beispiel 1, wobei die Fügestellen mit K2SiF6 beschichtet wurden.
Die metallografischen Untersuchungen der Fügestellen zeigen, daß die kristalline Struktur der Fügestelle sehr viel feiner ist im Vergleich zum herkömmlichen Flammlöten.
Claims
1. Verfahren zum Laserstrahllöten von Aluminiumlegierungen, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Fügestellen mit einem Laserenergie absorbierenden Mittel beschichtet werden.
2. Verfahren zum Laserstrahllöten nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß als Laserenergie absorbierendes Mittel zum Aluminiumlöten geeignete Flußmittel, Flußmittelpasten oder Flußmittelmetallpulvermischungen verwendet werden.
3. Verfahren zum Laserstrahllöten nach Anspruch 1 und 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß als Flußmittel Cäsiumfluoroalumi- nat-, Kaliumfluoroaluminatflußmittel oder deren Gemische mit Al/Si-, Al/Zn- oder Si-Pulver verwendet werden.
4. Verfahren zum Laserstrahllöten nach Anspruch 1 bis 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß als Flußmittel K2SiF6, KZnF, CsSiF oder deren Gemische verwendet werden.
5. Verfahren zum Laserstrahllöten nach Anspruch 1 bis 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Beschichtung der Metalloberfläche 3 bis 50 g/m2 beträgt.
6. Verfahren zum Laserstrahllöten von Aluminiumlegierungen nach Anspruch 1 bis 5, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß agne- siumhaltige Aluminiumlegierungen gelötet werden.
7. Verfahren zum Laserstrahllöten nach Anspruch 1 bis 6, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß lotplattierte Aluminiumlegierungen gelötet werden.
8. Verfahren zum Laserstrahllöten nach Anspruch 1 bis 7, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß Bauteile aus Aluminium mit Bau- teilen aus anderen Metallen, z. B. Stahl, Kupfer, Eisen, Titan, zusammengefügt werden.
