Definitions
- the present invention relates to a unit for packaging and applying a product (or a product in combination with an auxiliary product), as used in particular in the field of cosmetics.
- a product in a container surmounted by a housing with which it communicates via at least one passage, and in which is disposed an applicator.
- the applicator is integral with an element closing an opening of the housing, and also acting as a means of gripping the applicator.
- the inlet passage is sometimes equipped with a valve, in particular in the form of a valve, and opening under the pressure of the product.
- the FR-A-2 792 296 discloses a combined application set, especially on the skin, of a first and a second product, said application set comprising a container containing the first product, and at least one applicator capsule containing a second product.
- the applicator capsule comprises a support having means adapted to allow attachment to the container, an applicator member being mounted on the support and being adapted to convey said product from an orifice, formed in the support until to an application face of said applicator member.
- the applicator member is removably covered by a cap mounted on the support, and in the bottom of which is disposed the second product, in particular in the form of a solid cake or a powder.
- the application surface is in elastic support on the second product.
- opening / closing means of the valve or valve type, are provided for, selectively, disengaging, respectively, closing said orifice.
- the opening of the valve or valve is caused by the pressure of the product or by pressure exerted on the applicator member in contact with the surface on which the product is to be applied.
- the first product may be a makeup base in the form of a cream, a gel or a milk.
- the second product may especially be in the form of a compacted or free powder, and may comprise colored fillers or pigments.
- the first product may be a moisturizing or soothing base, in the form of a milk or a cream.
- the second product may be in the form of a powder or cream, and contain a protective filter against UV radiation.
- the applicator capsule is equipped with a valve whose opening is controlled by a pressure exerted on the applicator in contact with the surface to be treated, it is more difficult to accurately dose the amount of product. applied.
- the pressure exerted on the surface to be treated can, in depending on the location of the surface to be treated, make the application uncomfortable.
- the valve or valve closes automatically when the pressure stops, which prevents the return of air inside the container.
- the latter is configured as a flexible wall tube, it retains a shape at least partially crushed, and therefore, unattractive.
- a packaging and application unit of the type comprising a container equipped with a removable structure comprising an applicator, and solving or all or part of the problems discussed above with reference to conventional systems.
- a valve in the opening of the container allows, when the removable structure is not on the container, to ensure good preservation of the product away from the air without requiring auxiliary closure element plug type or other capsule.
- the opening (respectively, closing) of the valve being controlled by the introduction (respectively, the removal) of the removable structure, the product distribution conditions are not significantly changed.
- the product can be applied without exerting pressure on the skin, which may affect the comfort of the application.
- the valve does not close. Therefore, the latter does not oppose the return of air inside the container. It can keep a shape whose aesthetic remains unchanged over uses.
- said first valve closes under the action of an elastic restoring force when the removable structure is disengaged from the container.
- a such restoring force can be exerted by one or more elastically deformable portions, integral with the first valve, in particular forming a single piece with the latter.
- the valve can be obtained by molding the same material such as polyethylene or polypropylene.
- Such elastically deformable portions may further ensure the maintenance of the first valve in the opening of the container.
- the return force is exerted by an auxiliary spring, in particular in the form of a helical spring.
- the first valve is configured to open unilaterally towards the container. This configuration facilitates the opening control by the removable structure during the establishment of the latter.
- the first valve can open under the action of a member disposed in the inlet passage or facing the latter, and which, when mounting the removable structure on the container, comes into engagement with said first valve .
- the inlet passage of the removable structure is associated with a second valve.
- the removable structure after having first taken care of loading the applicator product, can be removed from the container and placed in a purse.
- the product it contains is sufficient to meet the needs of the consumer for a day or a weekend.
- the presence of the valve prevents any inadvertent product flow inside the handbag.
- the second valve opens unidirectionally towards the housing.
- Such an opening may result from the action of the pressure of the product from the container.
- the second valve may consist of a valve adapted to bend towards the housing under the action of the product pressure from the container, and to resume its closed position, with or without air intake, by recall elastic when said pressure ceases.
- Such an embodiment is particularly suitable when the container is a variable volume container, especially when it is equipped with a piston or configured as a flexible-walled tube.
- the second valve also opens in response to the mounting of the removable structure on the container.
- a first portion of the first valve may come into engagement with a second portion of the second valve, said engagement of said first and second portions causing the opening of said first and second valves.
- the second valve closes under the action of an elastic restoring force when the removable structure is disengaged from the container.
- the restoring force can be exerted by one or more elastically deformable portions, integral with the second valve, in particular forming a single piece with the latter, or by an auxiliary spring.
- said (or said) portion (s) elastically deformable (s) further ensure the maintenance of the second valve in the inlet passage.
- the applicator is integral with the closure element.
- the applicator is secured to a support for mounting the removable structure on the container, and traversed by said inlet passage.
- the applicator may be mounted on the closure element or on the support, by gluing, welding, pinching, or snapping.
- the applicator is free inside the housing.
- An auxiliary product in particular in the form of a compacted powder, a cream or a gel, may be contained in the bottom of a lid of the removable structure, said applicator being, in the mounted position of the lid on the support in contact, or even elastic support, on the auxiliary product.
- the product contained in the container may be a makeup base in the form of a cream, a gel or a milk.
- the product contained in the removable structure may in particular be in the form of a compacted or free powder, and comprise colored fillers or pigments.
- the product contained in the container may be a moisturizing or soothing base, in the form of a milk or a cream.
- the auxiliary product may be in the form of a powder or cream, and contain a UV protection filter.
- the application face of the applicator is, at least before use, elastically constrained in abutment against the free surface of the product contained in the lid, which, with certain products, is sufficient to ensure proper loading of said application face with said product.
- the loading of the application face with the auxiliary product can be promoted by rotating the application face bearing against said free surface of the product contained in the cover.
- the auxiliary product may be cast, hot or cold, or compacted, directly in the bottom of the lid, or in a cup mounted in said bottom.
- Means, in particular in the form of fins or other attachment means, may be provided for, in the event that the product is poured into the lid, allow the product, when it solidifies, to hang in the bottom of the lid.
- means in particular in the form of a grid or a perforated frame, may be provided to maintain said auxiliary product in the bottom of said lid .
- the free surface of the product contained in the bottom of the lid may be of any profile, in particular plane, concave or convex.
- the product can be separated from the bottom of the lid by an elastically compressible element, in particular a spring or block of foam, or by a piston. This reduces the compression of the applicator inside its housing.
- the applicator is preferably at least partially elastically compressed.
- the applicator consists of a block of a porous material, able to absorb said first product and, when the applicator is carried by the support, to route it from the inlet passage to a face application of the applicator.
- It may especially consist of an open-cell foam or semi-open, or a felt.
- the application face of the applicator member may be covered with a flocking.
- the applicator member comprises a plurality of "natural" passages formed between the fibers, or by the pores of the material, which communicate with each other. Such natural passages are particularly suitable when the product contained in the container is liquid.
- At least one "artificial" passage in the form of one or more channels extending, in particular axially, from the support up to to the application face, so as to transport the product contained in the container to the application face.
- the applicator member may consist of an elastically compressible element, in particular in the form of a bellows, and on which is mounted an application surface, in particular in the form of a foam, a woven fabric or a nonwoven, which surface may optionally be flocked or not.
- the application surface may be relatively smooth or have reliefs capable of having a massage action when applied to the skin.
- the applicator is made of a material chosen from polyurethane, polyester, polyether, PVC or NBR foams, a felt or a multilayer composite.
- the container may be a container with rigid walls, in particular glass.
- the container may be of variable volume, in particular in response to pressure exerted on a suitable portion of the container.
- the container can be configured as a flexible-walled tube, the volume variation of the container resulting from the pressure exerted on its walls, perpendicularly to their mean plane.
- the volume variation of the container results from the presence of a piston slidably mounted within the container.
- the piston progresses within the vessel, either in response to a depression within the vessel, or in response to manual pressure on the piston.
- the X-axis device 1 comprises a container 10 in the form of a flexible-walled tube, in particular made of polyethylene.
- the tube contains a product P1, for example, a milk intended to form a makeup base.
- the tube 10 is intended to removably receive a structure 100, which will be the subject of a more detailed description with reference to FIGS. Figures 2A-2C .
- the removable structure 100 comprises a support 101 intended to be fixed on the tube, and carrying an applicator member 102.
- the removable structure 100 also comprises a removable cover 103 in the bottom of which is disposed a product P2 for example, a product containing colored pigments.
- the product P2 is in the form of a solid cake, obtained by hot or cold casting, in the bottom of the cap 103, of a liquid composition, especially based on plaster, and which will solidify under cooling.
- Fastening means (not shown) anchor the product P2 in the bottom of the cap 103.
- the flexible-walled tube 10 comprises a neck 11 whose outer surface comprises a thread 12. Inside the neck 11 is disposed a member 13 delimiting a central opening 14 of frustoconical shape whose width increases towards the bottom of the tube 10.
- the member 13 can be held in the neck of the tube by snapping, gluing, or tight fitting.
- valve 15 which, when the removable structure 100 is not mounted on the tube 10 ( Figure 2A ), closes the opening 14.
- the valve 15 comprises a cylindrical portion 16 of width smaller than the width of the opening 14.
- the cylindrical portion 16 emerges from a few millimeters outside the container via the opening 14.
- the valve 15 also comprises a conical profile closure portion 17 corresponding to the frustoconical profile of the central opening 14.
- the valve 15 is constrained in the closed position via a helical spring 18, one end of which is in engagement with the closing portion 17 and the other end of which bears against an annular flange 19 formed by the member 13.
- the removable structure 100 comprises a support 101 comprising a lateral skirt whose inner surface comprises a thread 104 adapted to cooperate with the thread 12 of the tube 10.
- One end of the lateral skirt is closed by a transverse wall 105 traversed at its center by a axial passage 106.
- the passageway 106 is of frustoconical profile so as to form a seat for a valve 107 of corresponding frustoconical profile.
- the valve 107 comprises a closure portion 108 of frustoconical profile corresponding to the frustoconical profile of the upper portion of the passageway 106.
- the valve 107 also comprises a connecting portion 109, cylindrical. Opposite the closing portion 108, the connecting portion 109 terminates in an end portion 120 and is integral with three inclined tabs 110, spaced at 120 °, and oriented in the opposite direction to the bottom of the container 10
- the valve 107 is obtained by molding a low density polyethylene or a thermoplastic or crosslinked elastomer.
- the transverse wall 105 On the opposite side to the side skirt, the transverse wall 105 carries an applicator 102, in particular in the form of an open-cell or semi-open-cell foam block.
- the applicator is stuck on the wall 105, and has a recessed portion opposite the valve 107.
- a side skirt portion 111 whose outer surface comprises a groove 112 adapted to cooperate by snapping with a bead 113 formed on the inner surface of the side skirt of a cover 103.
- the support 101 in combination with the lid 103 defines a substantially sealed housing 150 for the applicator 102.
- the user mounts the removable structure 100 on the container 10. For this purpose, it puts in engagement the thread 104 of the applicator capsule 100 with the thread 12 of the tube 10. In doing so, the portion 16 of the valve 15 of the container comes into axial engagement with the end portion 120 of the valve 107 of the applicator capsule. This mutual engagement causes on the one hand the opening of the valve 15 and on the other hand the opening of the valve 107.
- This mounting position is illustrated in FIG. Figure 2B .
- the user then exerts pressure on the walls of the tube 10, which pressure causes the passage of a corresponding amount of product P1 from the tube 10 to the applicator 102 contained in the housing 150, via the passages 14 and 106.
- the applicator is then impregnated with the product P1, in a sufficient quantity for the needs of a day or a weekend of the user.
- the valve 15 of the container closes under the elastic return action of the spring 18.
- the valve 107 of the capsule 100 closes under the restoring force of the tabs 110.
- the user rotates the lid 103 on the capsule so as to generate friction between the application surface 114 loaded product P1 and the free surface of the product P2 so as to disintegrate part of the latter, and transfer it onto the surface 114 of the applicator 102. It then opens the lid 103 and, holding the applicator 102 by the support 101, it moves the application surface 114 on the surface to be treated. In doing so, it deposits on the latter a composition formed of the makeup base P1, mixed with the colored pigments of the product P2.
- the user mounts the removable structure 100 on the container 10.
- it puts in engagement the thread 104 of the applicator capsule 100 with the thread 12 of the container 10.
- the end portion 24 of the valve 15 of the container comes into axial engagement with the end portion 120 of the valve 107 of the applicator capsule.
- This mutual engagement causes on the one hand the opening of the valve 15 and on the other hand the opening of the valve 107.
- This mounting position is illustrated in FIG. figure 3B .
- the user then exerts with his thumb an axial pressure on the piston 20 of the container 10, which pressure causes the passage of a corresponding amount of product P1 from the container 10 to the applicator 102 contained in the housing 150, via the passages 14 and 106.
- the applicator is then impregnated with the product P1, of a sufficient quantity for the needs of a day or a weekend of the user.
- the valve 15 of the container 10 closes under the elastic return action of the tabs 23.
- the valve 107 of the capsule 100 closes under the restoring force of the tabs 110.
- the user unscrews the lid 103.
- the applicator 102 decompresses and pumps all or part of the excess product in the bottom of the housing 150. Holding the applicator 102 by the cover 103, it moves the application surface 114 on the surface to be treated. In doing so, it deposits on the latter the product P1.
- the device is moreover identical in all respects to the embodiment of the figures 1 and 2A-2B .
- the operation of this embodiment is similar to that of the embodiment of the figures 1 and 2A-2B .
- the simple fact of agitating the device before use, in the mounted position of the capsule 100 on the container 10 makes it possible to feed the applicator 102 and its application surface 114, via the passages 14 and 106, in particular by capillarity.
- the gesture is similar to that of the embodiment of the figures 1 and 2A-2B the product P1 being applied without prior contact with an auxiliary product.
- the container 10 differs from the first embodiment in that the container is rigid-walled, in particular polypropylene.
- the product P1 it contains is a moisturizing product with a viscosity close to that of water.
- FIG. Figure 5C A cutaway perspective view of the support 101 is shown in FIG. Figure 5C .
- the transverse wall 105 of the support is traversed by an axial chimney 126 defining the inlet passage 106 for the housing 150.
- the chimney 126 has a perforated wall 128 formed of three tabs 129 spaced at 120 ° and meeting at the center of the chimney 126.
- No valve is disposed in the inlet passage 106 of the applicator capsule 100.
- the product P2 contained in the cover 103 is a solid composition containing protective compounds against UV radiation from the sun.
- the user mounts the removable structure 100 on the container 10. For this purpose, it puts in engagement the thread 104 of the applicator capsule 100 with the thread 12 of the container 10. In doing so, the central portion of the perforated wall 128 of the support 101 of the capsule comes into engagement with the portion 16 of the valve 15 of the container 10, to the point of causing it to open.
- This mounting position is illustrated in the Figure 5B .
- the applicator is then impregnated with the product P1.
- the user rotates the lid 103 on the capsule 100 so as to generate friction between the application surface 114 loaded product P1 and the free surface of the product P2 so as to disintegrate a portion thereof, and to cause the transfer on the surface 114 of the applicator 102. It then opens the lid 103 and holding the applicator 102 by the support 101, it moves the application surface 114 on the surface to be treated. In doing so, it deposits on the latter a composition formed of the moisturizing base P1, mixed with the sunscreen P2.
- the operation is similar to that of the previous embodiment except that the passage of the product P1 from the container 10 to the housing 150 results from a pressure exerted on the walls of the flexible tube 10.
- the capsule after using the capsule, it can be transported independently of the container 10, without risk of inadvertent flow, especially in the handbag, because of the presence of the valve 127.
