Definitions
- the present invention relates to the technical field of overflow tiles for lower roof edge. These overflow tiles complete the lower edge of a roof to extend said roof.
- the latter is generally sloped and comprises an assembly of rows of tiles for the flow of rainwater to the lower edge of the roof.
- the lower edge of the roof is provided with horizontal gutters intended on the one hand to collect the rainwater from the roof and evacuate this water to vertical descents. This avoids rain water runoff on the walls supporting the roof.
- the roofs may comprise for example so-called "sewer” tiles whose attachment to the mortar is complicated and expensive.
- overflow tiles are known, for example mounted on the upper end of the wall and providing an extension of the roof of about 40 to 50 cm beyond the wall so as to prevent rain water from the roof. Roof does not run along the wall. These overflow tiles thus make it possible to project the rainwater flowing from the roof at a given distance from the wall, to prevent runoff on said wall.
- Such overflow tiles have the disadvantage that their dimension, especially in width, must correspond to the width of the tiles constituting the roof and more precisely the last row of tiles of the roof.
- the tiles constituting the last row of the roof are each constituted by a plate and a horn, of determined width, it is appropriate to use the corresponding width of the overhang tiles to ensure a perfect flow of the rainwater from the roof.
- each dimension of tiles imposes the use of a determined dimension for the overflow tiles. It is therefore essential to have as many sizes of overhang tiles as there are tile dimensions (of the type tiles with a tray and a horn) to ensure optimal flow of rainwater from the roof to the overflow tiles. Such overflow tiles are used especially in areas where the roofs are devoid of gutters.
- the purpose of the present invention is to provide overhang tiles whose conformation allows them to be used to join the lower row of tiles of a roof and, regardless of the width or dimensions of said tiles of the roof, in a determined range.
- each tile of the first series has at its end located on the side of the roof, a transverse channel, open upwards and communicating with the corresponding longitudinal section, said transverse channel protruding from at least one side of the tile so as to fit into the transverse channel of an adjacent tile, with possibilities of transverse adjustment of the spacing of the two adjacent tiles and nested.
- the figure 1 represents, in accordance with the invention, overflow tiles 2, 4 comprising a first series of tiles 2, each in the form of a cylindrical surface section open upwards and a second series of covering tiles 4, each in the shape of a section cylindrical surface open down.
- the opening directions of the aforementioned cylindrical surface sections obviously correspond to mounting positions.
- the first series of tiles 2 thus comprises an assembly of longitudinal sections 2a of cylindrical surfaces open upwards.
- Each tile of the first series 2 has at its end 6 on the side of the roof, a transverse channel 8 open upwards and communicating with the corresponding longitudinal section 2a.
- the transverse channel 8 protrudes from at least one side of the tile 2, with a protruding portion 10.
- the latter is intended to fit into the transverse channel 8 of an adjacent tile 2.
- Each tile 2 thus has on the opposite side to the projecting portion 10, a clearance of material 12 allowing a projecting portion 10 to fit perfectly in the transverse channel 8 of an adjacent tile.
- the interlocking between the protruding portion 10 and the adjacent transverse channel 8 is for example by form complementarity.
- the clearance of material 12 thus has a cutting complementary to the shape of the underside of the projecting portion 10.
- the projecting portion 10 can thus slide in the clearance of material 12, over a determined stroke and allows the assembly of tiles 2 of the first series to be mounted on a wall with possibilities of transverse adjustment of the spacing of tiles 2 adjacent and nested. The spacing between two adjacent upper edges 2b, 2c can thus be adjusted.
- the transverse channel 8 has in its protruding portion 10, projecting from the lateral side of the tile 2, a bottom consisting of two flat surfaces 14 and 16, connected by an inclined surface 18.
- the lower flat surface 16 opens directly into the longitudinal channel formed by the cylindrical surface-shaped longitudinal section 2a facing upwards and the plane surface 14 is extended by a complementary flat surface 20 extending to the clearance of material 12 formed in the edge 2c.
- the tile 2 is also closed towards the end of the roof side by means of a wall 22 extending between the complementary flat surface 20 and the internal face of the longitudinal section 2a.
- the flat surfaces 14 and 16 of the projecting portion 10 delimiting in part the transverse channel 8 are inclined from top to bottom, and from the outside of the tile 2 towards the part of the tile comprising the longitudinal section 2a in cylindrical surface shape open upwards, defining a longitudinal flow channel.
- Each tile 2 of the first series has on the underside of the transverse channel 8 and more particularly the protruding portion 10, a groove 24 transverse to the flow direction of the transverse channel 8, to avoid siphoning phenomena.
- Overflow tiles according to the invention also comprise a second series of covering tiles 4 each having two longitudinal edges 4b, 4c delimiting the cylindrical surface section 4a and intended to bear on the edges 2b, 2c of adjacent tiles. 2 of the first series.
- Each roof tile 4 has near its end of the roof side, a groove opening 30 formed in one of its longitudinal edges 4b. The emergent groove 30 is intended to engage on a transverse wall 32 delimiting a portion of the transverse channel 8 in the projecting portion 10.
- Each roof tile 4 is equipped at its end on the roof side with a recessed portion 34 intended to engage under a horn 36 of a lower tile 40 of the lower row of the roof.
- This part in withdrawal 34 allows to form a deflector to direct the water to the transverse channel 8 of a tile 2 of the first series.
- the recessed part 34 has, for example, a downwardly open cylindrical section shape, like the longitudinal section 4a, as shown in FIG. figure 5 .
- the recessed portion 34 is made in the form of an arch on which the internal face of the horn 36 bears, as can be seen on the figure 3 .
- each lower tile 40 of this row has a plate 38 in lateral extension of its horn 36, which is located facing the longitudinal portion 2a in the form of an upwardly open cylindrical surface of a tile 2 of the first series.
- the covering tiles 4 overlap the two longitudinal edges 2b, 2c whatever their spacing, compatible with the interlocking of the projecting portion 10 in the transverse channel 8 of the adjacent tile 2.
- each tile 2 of the first series is held on the wall 50 by means of a fastening system 60 represented for example in FIG. the figure 3 .
- the latter is made for example with a folded sheet shown in section, holding the upper end 6 of the tile 2.
- This folded sheet is fixed on the wall 50 with a first part 61, by any means and comprises a second rising portion 62, itself extended by a third portion 63 substantially horizontal and whose end is a folded edge 64 directed downwards.
- the folded sheet thus comes with the third part 63 and the folded edge 64 overhanging the upper end 6 of the tile 2.
- the upper end 6 is retained in position by the third part 63 and the folded edge 64.
- the system 60 may alternatively, have a planar plate type element 65, fixed between the first portion 61 and an upper surface 52 of the wall 50.
- This plane element 65 has a end 66 exceeds the upper surface of the wall 50 to provide support for the tile 2 of the first series, and more specifically for an inclined lower face 19 of said tile 2 of the first series.
- the dimensions and / or the positioning of this plane element 65 thus make it possible to give the tile 2 a given inclination, when it is put in place on the wall 50.
- the fastening system 60 is fixed on the wall 50 by any means and thanks to a rivet 68.
- the tile 2 can also come to bear on a face 51 provided specifically for this purpose on the wall 50.
- the fastening system 60 is advantageously located under the last row of tiles 40 of the roof.
- the flat surface 14, located on the side of the lower edge of the roof, is raised relative to the flat surface 16 located on the outer side.
- the underside of at least one of these flat surfaces 14, 16 serves to support the tile 2 on the upper surface of the wall 50 of the fastening system 60.
