Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a machine for opening parallelepiped boxes, in particular cardboard boxes.
  • Patent FR n ° 97 08819 filed in the name of plaintiff, describes a machine of the same kind as that object of the present invention.
  • the machine according to this earlier patent although giving overall satisfaction, however has the disadvantage of being expensive to manufacture.
  • This machine also has the disadvantage of opening the box on two opposite sides and therefore prevent the use of this box as a temporary product storage bin. The presence of the flaps on the upper part of the box would also hinder this use.
  • the present invention aims to remedy these drawbacks.
  • the machine according to the invention thus makes it possible to cut a box below one of the walls of this box so that this wall, once cut, can be separated from the rest of the box.
  • the treatment of the box by the machine therefore does not affect the integrity of the part not cut out of the box, which can thus be used as a storage bin temporary products.
  • the wall to be cut can in particular be a wall made up, on a cardboard box, by flaps; cutting this wall allows eliminate these flaps so that they do not interfere with said subsequent use of the box as a storage bin.
  • Said rotary blades can be of standard type, without teeth, in particular of the type used on cutters.
  • Such blades in addition to their reduced cost, have the advantage of cutting with limited noise and above all without producing dust, which is particularly sought after in fields such as pharmacy or perfumery.
  • the machine comprises means for guidance to come closely guide the box in the direction advancement of this box, these means being mobile so as to adapt to the different possible dimensions of boxes likely to be processed by the machine.
  • the machine according to the invention comprises means for adjusting the position of the cutting members relative to the chassis, to adjust the cutting depth of the cutting members depending on the thickness of the walls to be cut out of the box, and / or to adjust the cutting height relative to the wall to be cut.
  • Figure 1 is a simplified side view
  • Figure 2 is a simplified view from above
  • Figure 3 is a simplified end view, upstream side relative to the direction of advancement of a box in this machine
  • Figures 4 to 9 are simplified views, from above, of the chassis that it comprises, during six successive stages of treatment of a box 100.
  • Figures 1 to 3 show a machine 1 for opening 100 cardboard boxes, of parallelepiped shape.
  • This machine 1 comprises a frame 2 on which are mounted pivoting two structures 3, each structure 3 comprising two arms side 4 and an upper cross 5.
  • the lower ends of the arms 4 are pivotally connected to a frame 8, so that the whole forms a deformable parallelogram allowing the mobility of the chassis 8 in the height direction with respect to the frame 2.
  • This set of 3-frame structures 8 is actuated by means a jack 9 connected to the frame 2, on the one hand, and to an arm 5a secured to one sleepers 5, on the other hand.
  • the crosspieces 5 comprise counterweights 10 facilitating the chassis movements 8.
  • the frame 2 comprises a conveyor 11 with an endless belt, for advancing a box 100 in the machine 1, and the latter includes another endless belt conveyor (not shown), located in upstream of the transporter 11 and ending in the immediate vicinity of this one, which allows the boxes 100 to be brought into the machine 1.
  • a C1 photoelectric cell (not shown), suitable for detect the presence or absence of a box 100, is placed above of the aforementioned carriers, directly above the place where the conveyor 11 and where said conveyor for feeding boxes ends 100, being oriented transversely relative to these transporters.
  • This cell C1 controls, when hidden, the halt of the transporter conveyor and operating 11.
  • the frame 2 further comprises a photoelectric cell C2, placed directly above the upstream part of the chassis 8 and suitable for detecting the presence of a box 100.
  • This cell C2 controls, when it is hidden, the stop of the transporter 11 and of the endless belts 27, 37 described further, and the supply of the jack 9 in the direction of lowering the chassis 8.
  • the chassis 8 comprises two side members 15, two cross members 16 supporting guide assemblies 17 and two rodless cylinders 18, 19 transverse.
  • One of the side members 15, namely that located at the top in the figure 2 in the example shown, comprises a plate 20 on which is mounted a motor 21 for driving a circular blade 22.
  • This blade 22, as well as the identical blade 44 which will be described later, is of the type of those used on cutters, devoid of teeth.
  • the guide assembly 17 located on the side of this same spar 15 comprises a longitudinal beam 25 which comprises two rollers 26 to its ends, of vertical axes, on which is engaged a strip without late 27.
  • One of the rollers 26 is rotated by a motor (not shown), so that the inner strand of the strip 27 runs in the same direction and at the same speed as the transporter 11.
  • the beam 25 is connected to two slides 28 engaged at sliding on the sleepers 16.
  • Each slide 28 comprises one or more several tapped holes (not shown) opening into the bore which allows the engagement of this slide 28 on a cross 16, and one or several screws (not shown) are engaged in these tapped holes.
  • the tightening these screws thus makes it possible to immobilize the assembly 17 in a determined position relative to the chassis 8, such as the inner strand of the endless belt 27 is situated slightly behind the part of the blade 22 facing the inside of machine 1 (see Figure 2). This withdrawal determines the desired depth of cut, as will be explained below, and this cutting depth can thus be adjusted by means of these screws.
  • the upstream slide 28 comprises a plate 29 in the form of "L" inverted (see Figure 3), one wing of which extends horizontally direction of the interior of the machine 1 and the other wing of which extends vertically and is located immediately behind the inner strand of the endless band 27.
  • the horizontal wing of this plate 29 has a C3 cell oriented vertically, suitable for detecting the presence of a box 100 below it. This C3 cell controls the supply stop of the jack 9 in the direction of descent of the chassis 8 and the supply of the cylinder 18 in the direction of bringing the assemblies 17 together, like this will appear below.
  • This cylinder 18 comprises, in a manner well known per se in the case of a so-called “rodless” cylinder, a body 30, a piston movable in this body 30 and a slide 31 connected to this piston, this slide 31 being movable along the body 30 in a slide formed by this body 30.
  • the ends of the body 30 are fixed to the side members 15 and the slide 31 is connected to a longitudinal beam 35 which has two rollers 36 at its ends, with vertical axes, on which is engaged an endless band 37.
  • One of the rollers 36 is rotated by a motor (not shown), so that the inner strand of the strip 37 runs in the same direction and at the same speed as the transporter 11.
  • the beam 35 is connected to two slides 38 engaged at sliding on the crosspieces 16, and the upstream slider 38 has a inverted L-shaped plate 39, one wing of which extends horizontally towards the interior of the machine 1 and the other wing of which extends vertically and is located immediately behind the inner strand of the endless band 37.
  • the horizontal wing of this plate 39 has a C4 cell oriented vertically, suitable for detecting the presence of a box 100 below it. This cell C4 controls the setting operation of the conveyor 11 and the endless belts 27 and 37.
  • the cylinder 19 has a structure similar to that of the cylinder 18. Its body 40 is connected to the side members 15 and its slide 41 has a plate 42 on which is mounted the drive motor 43 of a blade cutting 44.
  • This slide 41 is movable between a starting position shown in solid lines in FIG. 2 and an arrival position shown in broken lines on this same figure.
  • Machine 1 also includes a photocell C5 arranged transversely to the conveyor 11 and adjustable in position in the longitudinal direction of this transporter 11.
  • This cell C5 is located slightly downstream of the upstream part of the blade 44, at a distance of this upstream part corresponding to the desired depth of cut.
  • the cell C5 when it is obscured by a box 100, controls the stopping of the conveyor 11 and endless belts 27, 37, and the supply of the jack 19 in the direction of movement of the slide 41 towards the arrival position supra.
  • Said arrival position of the plate 42 is determined by a adjustable stop (not shown) formed for example by a screw which can be screwed through a plate mounted on chassis 8.
  • This position arrival is such that the part of the blade 44 which is, in this same position, towards the inside of machine 1, protrudes beyond the strand inside of the endless belt 37.
  • This projection corresponds to the depth of desired cut, as will be explained later, and this stop adjustable allows you to adjust this cutting depth.
  • the plate 42 includes a cell C6 which is obscured when this plate 42 reaches the aforementioned arrival position. This cell C6 controls the operation of the conveyor 11 and the belts endless 27, 37.
  • Machine 1 also includes a photocell C7 arranged transversely to the conveyor 11 and adjustable in position in the longitudinal direction of this transporter 11.
  • This cell C7 is located slightly upstream of the downstream region of the blade 44, at a distance of this downstream zone corresponding to the desired depth of cut.
  • the cell C7 when it is deactivated by a box 100, commands the stop of the conveyor 11 and of the endless belts 27, 37, and the supply of the cylinder 19 in the direction of movement of the slide 41 from said position of arrival towards said starting position.
  • the return of the slide 41 to said starting position is detected by a contactor C8, which, when activated by this return from the slide 41, controls the starting of the conveyor 11 and supplies the jack 9 in the direction of lifting the chassis 8 up to the evacuation of the box 100 out of the machine 1.
  • This evacuation is detected by a C9 photoelectric cell arranged transversely to the transporter 11, which controls the operation of the transporter aforementioned feed in order to engage a new box 100 in the machine 1.
  • the machine 1 also comprises adjustment means (not shown) of the height of the horizontal wings of the plates 29, 39 by compared to the blades 22, 44, making it possible to adjust the cutting height by compared to the upper wall of the box 100, as will be explained further.
  • These means may in particular include lights verticals arranged at the ends of the side members 15, in which the crosspieces 16 are engaged, and vertical tapped holes opening into the upper and lower faces of the side members 15, on the one hand, and in the upper and lower ends of these lights, on the other hand. These tapped holes receive threaded rods can be screwed or unscrewed to move these ends of the sleepers 16 in these lights and thus adjust the height of the assemblies 17, therefore plates 29, 39 relative to the side members 15, therefore to the blades 22, 44.
  • the machine 1 also includes a timer, the operation will be explained later.
  • Machine 1 can operate in a "multi-format” mode, allowing the treatment of boxes 100 which do not all have the same dimensions, or in a "series” mode, making it possible to process a series of 100 boxes of the same dimensions.
  • cell C1 detects the arrival a box 100 at the end of the feed conveyor; she then puts in operation of the conveyor 11 and stops the feed conveyor when it detects the arrival of a next box 100.
  • Box 100 located in the machine advances on the conveyor 11 (cf. FIG. 4) up to the vertical position of the upstream part of the chassis 8, at level at which it is detected by cell C2.
  • This causes the stop conveyor 11 and endless belts 27, 37 and controls the lowering of the chassis 8 until the horizontal wing of the plate 29 come to rest against the upper face of the box 100.
  • Cell C3 detects the presence of the box 100 and actuates the jack 18 so as to bring the other set 17 closer to the box 100, until the cell C4 (see Figure 5).
  • This cell C4 stops the jack 18 and restores operation of the conveyor 11 and the endless belts 27, 37.
  • the scrolling of the box 100 in front of the blade 22 causes the cutting of part of the corresponding lateral edge of the box 100.
  • the box 100 advances until cell C5 is obscured (see Figure 6), which actuates the jack 19 and moves the plate 42-motor 43 assembly towards the aforementioned arrival position.
  • the blade 44 cut the front edge of the box 100 (see Figure 7).
  • the occultation of the cell C6 stops the cylinder 19 and restarts the conveyor 11 and the endless bands 27, 37, until cell C7 is concealed, which causes the cutting of the lateral edges of the box 100 (cf. figure 8).
  • the transporter supply is no longer controlled by cell C9 but by the time delay cited above; the frame 8 is placed at the height corresponding to the height of the box 100 and the movable assembly 17 is placed in a position determined with respect to the fixed assembly 17, corresponding to the dimension of the box 100 in the transverse direction to the advancement of this box 100; cells C2 to C4 are inactive and only verify the presence of a next 100 box compared to a 100 box being cutting; cells C5 to C8 work the same way as in the "multiformat" mode.
  • the invention provides a machine for opening boxes 100, in particular cardboard boxes 100, with the advantages of being inexpensive to manufacture and of keeping the integrity of the boxes 100 after treatment, so that these boxes 100 can be used as a temporary product storage bin.
