- a printing unit for a rotary printing press is known from EP 07 23 864 B1, which has a screen printing cylinder, which together with an impression cylinder Forms printing gap in which a printing material is printed.
- This known printing unit is only suitable for single-sided printing.
- DE 26 38 344 A1 discloses a printing unit for perfecting with two interacting screen printing cylinders.
- DE 41 13 362 C2 shows a transfer printing machine, in which a sheet of paper from one Screen printing cylinder is removed using a scraper.
- JP 63-071350 A describes two screen printing cylinders working together.
- the invention has for its object to a printing unit with screen printing cylinders create.
- the second cylinder is also a Screen printing cylinder is, so that each screen printing cylinder each for printing on one side of a printing material passed through the printing nip.
- Allowing register-based printing is at least one of the two Screen printing cylinder with a holding device for the sheet-like substrates fitted.
- this holding device can pass the pressure gap, it is necessary that at least one of the two screen printing cylinders has an indentation on its peripheral surface having.
- a doctor device arranged inside the screen printing cylinder is preferably radially displaceable so that it can avoid the indentation.
- the doctor devices of both screen printing cylinders each have one Have working squeegees, the latter when ink is pushed through the screen touched, the working doctor blades of both doctor devices aligned exactly with each other are, so that the working squeegee of a squeegee device is one of the working squeegee the other compensated for pressure exerted on their sieve.
- This arrangement is on simple way ensures that there is sufficient pressure in the pressure gap to press the color required for printing through the screens and onto the Transfer printing stock, on the other hand, an undesirable deformation of each screen avoided by the pressure of the doctor device arranged in it that the each other doctor device exerts a corresponding back pressure.
- each doctor device can also be one of the working doctor in Have circumferentially spaced back pressure device, each on the Working squeegee of the other squeegee device is aligned and its pressure compensated.
- the doctoring devices Applying color to the screen printing cylinder, also the task of conventionally used impression cylinder.
- Fig. 1 shows a schematic view z. B. a sheet-fed rotary printing press in which the printing unit 4 according to the invention is used.
- the printing press includes one Sheet feeder 1 with a sheet stack 2, of which automatically on one constant level held top sheet individually or scaled by one Belt conveyor 3 of the printing unit 4 are fed, which the sheets individually takes over, printed and outputs to a second chain conveyor 6, which in the case of Multi-color printing further printing units in the manner of printing unit 4 or, as shown here feeds a delivery stack 5 directly.
- the sheets pass through the printing unit 4 from top to bottom; its structure is in Fig. 2 in shown on a larger scale.
- Two transport cylinders 7, of which the upper one is only partially shown in the figure, are each provided with holding devices on a section 8 of their circumference in order to printing sheets with register to their edge from the first belt conveyor 3 take.
- the lower of the two transport cylinders 7 rolls in contact with a first one Screen printing cylinder 12, which also on a portion 11 of its circumference with a Holding device 29, in particular a gripper bridge 29 (see Fig. 3a) for Take over the sheets from the lower transport cylinder 7 is equipped.
- the first Screen printing cylinder 12 forms one together with a second screen printing cylinder 17 Printing nip 14 through which the gripper bridge 29 of the first screen printing cylinder 12 recorded arches are passed through.
- the two screen printing cylinders 12; 17 are like this rotatable together that with each passage through the pressure gap 14 Gripper bridge 29 of the first screen printing cylinder 12 with a channel-like indentation Section 18 of the second screen printing cylinder 17 meets.
- 3a, 3b each show a portion of the two screen printing cylinders 12; 17 in the Vicinity of the pressure gap 14.
- Each screen printing cylinder 12; 17 has a support ring at its axial ends 22, on the outer circumference of a sieve 23, z. B. from silk or polyamide gauze or Bronze wire mesh, is stretched.
- Inside the screen printing cylinder 12; 17 is one Doctor device 24 arranged, its position in the radial direction by a Curve body, here one on the end faces of the screen printing cylinder 12; 17 trained Guide slot 26 is controlled, through which a cylindrical guide extension 27 Squeegee device 24 extends through.
- Outside the screen printing cylinder 12; 17 is the Guide extension 27 on both sides in the direction of the axes of rotation of the screen printing cylinder 12 and the screen printing cylinder 17 connecting line 28 slidably mounted.
- 3a shows the doctor device 24 in a position in which the gripper bridge 29 of the Screen printing cylinder 12 passes through the printing nip 14 between the two cylinders. in the The area of the gripper bridge 29 or opposite this has the sieves 23 section 31 indented radially inwards.
- the guide slot 26 has an in not completely shown in the figure, to the cylindrical outer surface of the screen 23 Concentric arcuate section 33 and an inwardly indented Section 32, the course of which corresponds to section 31.
- the course of the section 32 is selected such that when the section 32 rotates during the rotation of the Screen printing cylinder 12 moved past the guide extension 27, the doctor device 24 so retracted far radially inward that there is only minimal pressure on it exerts the sieve 23, which does not cause any significant deformation of the sieve 23 in the Section 31 leads, or it completely loses contact with the screen 23 and thus exerts no pressure on its section 31, which deform it and in the course of Operating damage.
- 3b shows the position of the squeegee devices 24 after the section 32 Guide extension 27 has happened.
- the arcuate section 33 of the Guide slot 26 holds squeegee devices 24 against the inside of screen 23 pressed so that a color located on a working squeegee 19 of the squeegee device 24 34 pressed through the open areas of the screen 23 and in this way on a sheet of printing material passed through the printing nip 14 is transferred.
- the parallelism of the lips 16 is of great importance for a satisfactory printing result Importance; if the lips 16 are not parallel but cross, there is Possibility that apart from the crossing point, the screen 23 in front of at its The pressure acting on the inside of the doctor device 24 recedes, with the result that little or no paint 34 is passed through the screen 23 and this Color is incomplete due to a lack of effective pressure force or not through one the printing nip 14 guided sheet is transmitted.
- the requirements for the parallelism of the lips 16 are all the more so higher, the narrower the zone in which lip 16 and sieve 23 touch. That is why expedient, the elasticity of the material of the doctor blades 19 and the contact pressure of the Doctor device 24 against the screen 23 large enough to choose that a sufficient width of the contact zone results.
- an axial extension of the Screen printing cylinder 12; 17 of approx. 800 to 900 mm is an extension of the Contact zone of at least 0.05 to 1 mm, preferably about 0.3 to 0.4 mm in Circumferential direction of the screen printing cylinder 12; 17 desirable. With deviating ones axial dimensions, a proportionally larger or smaller width can be selected become.
- the doctor device 24 remains Screen printing cylinder 17 also during its passage through the indented Section 31 in contact with the sieve 23.
- the screen 23 is on supported on its outside by a support element 36.
- the support member 36 has here Shape of a bowl or gutter which is evenly curved in cross section, e.g. B. made of sheet metal or a rigid plastic, and is at its two axial ends on the end faces of the screen printing cylinder 17 anchored.
- the support element 36 can be adjusted in the radial direction (arrow 37) to adjust the tension of the sieve 23.
- the screen printing cylinder 12 has a corresponding support element 36 in its indented section 31.
- the support element 36 expediently forms a closed plate through which none Color 34 pass through and onto the exterior of the screen printing cylinder 12; 17 arrive can.
- the support element 36 is mounted radially inside the sieve 23, and leading End 42 and trailing end 43 of the screen 23 overlap each other in the Support member 36 supported section 31. In this way, the sensitive Connection between the two ends 42; 43 of the sieve 23, the z. B. be welded can, before contact with the lip 16 of the doctor device 24 and thus before protected from premature wear.
- an actuator for a Adjustment of the doctor device 24 in the radial direction such as that in FIGS. 3a, 3b shown guide slot 26 can be provided.
- the inner radius of the area swept by the doctor device 24 is minimal fluctuations, it is considered sufficient that these fluctuations are caused by one To compensate (not shown) radially resilient mounting of the doctor device 24.
- edges 46; 47 not exactly parallel to a generatrix of the outer surface of the screen printing cylinder 17 or to the lip 16 of the Doctor device 24 run, but at a small angle to it.
- a sawtooth, rafter or sinusoidal course of the edges 46; 47 preferably form the edges 46; 47 each a helix with a pitch that a Is a multiple of the axial length of the screen printing cylinder 17.
- Fig. 6 shows in an axial section the vicinity of the pressure gap 14 of another Variant of the printing unit 4 according to the invention, in the same phase of it Rotational movement as in Fig. 3b.
- Elements already with reference to FIGS. 3a and 3b described correspond to the same reference numerals and are not here described again.
- the printing unit 4 from FIG. 6 has two differently constructed doctor devices 24a; 24b. Each of them includes one Working squeegees 19a and 19b made of an elastically deformable material, with a lip 16, which in the course of the rotary movement of the screen printing cylinder 17 over the inside of the screen 23 strokes to push color 34 through.
- each doctor device 24a; 24b Separated from the lips 16 and parallel to this is carried by each doctor device 24a; 24b a counter pressure device 21a; 21b in shape a web, which is in the axial direction of the screen printing cylinder 17 over the same Length as the working squeegee 19a; 19b extends and has an end face 13 which over the inside of the screen 23 strokes.
- the counter pressure device 21a; 21b is so aligned that the end face 13 of the lip 16 of the doctor blade 19b or 19a opposite each other doctor device 24b or 24a.
- Task of this Back pressure devices 21a; 21b is an abutment for that of the opposite working squeegee 19b; 19a to form exerted pressure that the Passage of paint in sufficient quantity through the screen 23 and its imprint guaranteed by the printing nip 14 printed material in good quality.
- the End face 13 of the counter pressure devices 21a; 21b can be a width in Circumferential direction of several millimeters. This also applies to one slight non-parallelism of the two doctor devices 24a; 24b ensures that the pressure of each lip 16 is compensated for along its entire length and so one uniform print quality is achieved across the entire width of the substrate.
- doctor blade device 24b can therefore be used as a chamber doctor blade in a simple manner are formed, the counter-pressure device 21b forming a closing doctor.
- the chamber delimited by working doctor blade 19b and counterpressure device 21b can be pressurized can be applied to control the color throughput.
