Definitions
- the invention relates to an electrical unit with a control unit, in particular a ballast for a fluorescent lamp, which is attached to a support device, in particular a tub of an electric light, is mounted according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Fluorescent lamps require ballasts for the ignition and to limit the current operational. It uses conventional ballasts (KVG) and electronic ones Ballasts used. The latter electronic ballasts have proven themselves in terms of quality and reliability. Furthermore, electronic ballasts have much lower losses than conventional ballasts, the operation with high frequency Fluorescent lamps have a higher light output with a flicker-free light.
- ballast is usually accommodated in a housing in a tub together with the fluorescent lamp and the holders for the lamp a lamp is used. To ground the lamp tray, this is with the Ballast housing electrically connected.
- This grounding can, for example thanks to a screw connection between the housing and luminaire tray take place, ensured by appropriate design of the screw connection is that a reliable contact between luminaire tray and housing can be produced.
- grounding can also be carried out using a protective conductor cable, that electrically connects the housing to the lamp tray.
- Control and power supply devices that have a protective conductor contact with a to connect the device-receiving lamp tray, a support bracket or the like are.
- the invention has for its object an electrical assembly to create, in which a protective conductor contact can be produced in a simple manner.
- the electrical unit has a control unit which, with its Housing on a support device of an electrical device to be controlled, for example, a lamp is attached.
- the mechanical and electrical Connection takes place according to the invention via at least one bending tab, which either is formed on the housing or - in kinematic reversal - on the carrying device and so deformable for establishing the mechanical and electrical connection is that they are positively or non-positively in one recess of the other Component, i.e. the support device or the housing engages. That is, for assembly of the electrical control unit, this is placed on the carrying device and then by bending the bending tab (s) the mechanical connection and the protective conductor contact is established.
- the technology does not require any complex screw connection or training an additional protective conductor cable, via which the housing and the carrying device are electrically connected to each other.
- the electrical control device is preferably a ballast for a fluorescent lamp.
- the invention can also be applied to others use electrical units in which a control or power supply device is to be connected mechanically and electrically to a carrying device.
- the bending tab is a Punched out formed a peripheral edge portion in the bent state of the recess encompasses the mechanical and electrical connection manufacture.
- the strength of the mechanical connection can be increased if the bending tab has a locking portion covering the recess, the Base area is slightly smaller than that of the recess, so that when bending the bending tab of the locking section a peripheral edge of the recess grips and forms an undercut.
- the recess on the support device for example the tub of the lamp and the bending tab (s) on the housing of the control unit, for example, the ballast for the fluorescent lamp is.
- the assembly of the assembly according to the invention is particularly simple if each Bending tab into its engagement position by a press-in mandrel that can be inserted into the recess is feasible.
- each bending tab is assigned a press-in mandrel, which is integral with one Component of the control unit is formed.
- This component can, for example, a bottom trough for a connection terminal or a mounting frame of the ballast. It will be special preferred if each press mandrel has a film hinge on the plastic injection molding process manufactured under-tray or on the mounting frame is connected.
- the press-in mandrel can have a groove on the circumference through which it engages the lamp tray can be locked.
- the press-in mandrel is advantageously shaped in such a way that it has a positioning and alignment to the recess of the lamp tray performs. This is an exact alignment of the bottom tray and so that the terminal attached to the lower trough or the Lower trough attached mounting frame opposite the recess in the Luminaire tray possible.
- each bending tab has a recess assigned.
- two pairs of bending tabs are offset from each other by 180 degrees, so that the attachment the control unit both perpendicular to the base of the support device and is also optimal parallel to the base of the support device.
- Figure 1 shows a three-dimensional representation of essential components of a Luminaire 1, in which an electronic ballast 2 mechanically and electrically with a tub 4 of the lamp 1 is attached, on which further a not shown Fluorescent lamp with sockets and a cover (also not shown) are arranged.
- an assembly state of the lamp 1 is shown in which the ballast 2 not yet mechanically and electrically with the lamp tray 4 connected is.
- the electronic ballast 2 has a metallic housing 6 with a housing cover 8, which is a circuit board with the electronic components of the ballast 2, for example an interference suppressor, a rectifier, a high-frequency inverter, a current limit and an electrode preheater contains.
- the ballast 2 is assigned a terminal block 10, which is in a lower trough 12 is inserted. The latter is via a locking connection (not shown) or otherwise attached to the housing 6.
- the electronic ballast 2 is connected to a wiring harness connected to the terminal block 10 (not shown) with the power supply and the fluorescent lamp or the sockets connected for the lamp.
- the terminal block 10 is connected to a protective conductor provided to which both the housing 6 made of sheet metal of the electronic Ballast 2 and also made of sheet metal Luminaire tray 4 can be connected.
- FIG 2 shows a plan view of the base plate 16 of the housing 6 of the ballast 2. Accordingly, this base plate 16 has four bending tabs in its corner areas 18a, 18b, 18c and 18d.
- Figure 3 shows a partial representation of the bending tab 18a. Accordingly, this bending tab 18a has an approximately omega-shaped punching 22 formed, through which the bending tab 18a is cut free. This has one extending from a base 24 radially inwardly extending radial web 26 to Center of the punch 22 towards a circular segment-shaped locking section 28 is expanded.
- the bending tabs 18a, 18b, 18c extend and 18d towards the adjacent side edge 30 and 32 of the base plate 16, respectively to the outside - i.e. the bending tabs 18a, 18b are opposite the bending tabs 18c, 18d formed in the base plate 16 offset by 180 degrees.
- An elongated hole 34, 36 is formed in each of the side edges 30, 32, via which one additional or alternative fixation of the housing 6 can take place.
- Figure 4 shows a plan view of the bottom 20 of the lamp tray 4, the bottom plate 16 of the housing 6 of the ballast 2 is shown in dashed lines.
- FIG. 4 there are four round recesses 38a, 38b, 38c and 38d in the base 20 formed, which are also partially visible in Figure 2. Accordingly, these lie Recesses 38 concentric with the circular segment-shaped locking sections 28, so that the locking sections 28 each about half of those below cover recess 38.
- the diameter of the approximately semicircular Locking section 28 is slightly less than the diameter of the associated recess 38a to 38d.
- the bending tabs 18a to 18d are shown bent down according to Figure 1, so that the locking portions 28 in Immerse the respectively assigned recess 38a to 38d and downwards protrude from the floor 20.
- This assembly position is shown in FIGS. 5 and 6, both figures being an enlarged longitudinal section along the line A-A represent in Figure 2.
- the radial web formed by the punch 22 lies 26 of the base plate 16 of the housing 6 on an adjacent base surface 44 of the bottom 20 of the lamp pan 4, while the circular segment-shaped locking section 28 is bent downward by 90 ° and passes through the recess 38a. This is due to the round shoulders extending away from the radial web 26 46, 48 of the locking section 28 (see FIG.
- the electrical connection between the base plate 16 of the housing 6 and the Bottom 20 of the lamp trough 4 is created by the installation of the locking section 28 on the two peripheral edges 50 of the recess 38a to 38d.
- the bending tabs 18a to 18d and the peripheral edges 50 of the recess 38a to 38d along the relatively sharp-edged peripheral edges, so that possibly existing coatings, for example painting the luminaire tray 4 and the housing 6 through the bending process and the abutting peripheral edges broken and thus a reliable contact is made.
- This Contacting can be achieved through a particularly sharp-edged configuration of the contact sections can still be improved.
- the sheets are usually used for production the bottom plate 16 and the bottom 20 before punching the bending tabs 18 and Recesses 38 painted so that the punched edges are unpainted anyway and thus the contracting presents no difficulties.
- the bending of the bending tabs 18a to 18d can be done using a separate tool or but - as indicated in Figures 5 and 6 - by integrating a press-in mandrel 56 in the control unit 2, via which the bending tabs 18 are shown in their Locking position can be brought.
- These press-in mandrels 56 can, for example on the bottom trough 12 designed as an injection molded component or a mounting frame be formed, the connection - as indicated in Figure 5 - via a Film hinge 58 takes place, so that the press-in mandrels 56 opposite the lower trough 12 or the mounting frame are pivotable.
- the press-in mandrels 56 have such a cross section that it can be pivoted into the recess 38a to 38d are and the locking portion 28 of the bending tab 18a to 18d from its basic position shown in FIG. 1 (after stamping) into the position shown in FIG Figure 5 can bring locking position shown.
- the mandrels 56 in their lower pivot position by a locking groove 54 can be locked, so that the locking section via these press-in pins 56 28 against the peripheral wall of the associated recess 38a up to 38d.
- the press-in mandrels 56 have an integrally formed tip 60 during the locking process first in the punched area between the punch 22 and the bending tab 18 and then engage in the recess 38 before the bending tabs 18 bend. This will position and align the lower trough 12 and thus the terminal block inserted in the lower trough 12 10 on the recesses 38 of the bottom 20 of the lamp tray 4 allows.
- Ballast for a fluorescent lamp.
- the control unit has a housing that is mechanical and electrically with a support device, for example a lamp tray a lamp is connected.
- a support device for example a lamp tray a lamp is connected.
- there is a mechanical and electrical connection via at least one fastening tab that consists of a Basic position can be brought into a locking position in which it is in an assigned Immersed recess of the support device and thereby a positive or non-positive Lock produces.
