Definitions
- the present invention relates to a crawler chassis for an all-terrain vehicle, in particular an agricultural or forestry vehicle, with two deflection wheels arranged on the longitudinal ends of the undercarriage for the chain of the caterpillar undercarriage, one of the deflection wheels or another deflection wheel. or drive wheel can be coupled directly to a bearing or drive axle for a wheel of the vehicle, and to an off-road vehicle, in particular an agricultural or forestry vehicle.
- a caterpillar undercarriage with a correspondingly long length is usually provided on both sides, such a continuous crawler undercarriage being disadvantageous, particularly in rough terrain, since in the case of large uneven ground, a crawler undercarriage of such a large length corresponds to a small contact area or Brings contact surfaces with a non-level surface. In this way the tractive force could be improved compared to the use of wheels, but the " " vehicle would become very unstable.
- a caterpillar undercarriage of the type mentioned at the outset can be found, for example, in US Pat. No. 3,689,123, with a direct connection of a drive wheel for the chain of the caterpillar undercarriage to the hub or bearing axle for a wheel of the vehicle.
- crawler tracks can be found, for example, in US Pat. No. 5,607,210, US Pat. No. 4,448,273, US Pat. No. 5,273,126, DE-A 31 46 511 or CH-A 239 868, which, however an extremely complicated one Construction and a complex, direct definition on a bearing or drive axle of the vehicle require.
- the present invention therefore aims to enable the operational capabilities of in particular off-road vehicles, in particular agricultural or forestry vehicles, to be improved by using appropriate crawler tracks. Furthermore, the aim is to ensure the use and simple definition of crawler tracks without changing the chassis of the vehicle to be equipped with it, in particular all-terrain vehicle, and without replacing or redesigning the power transmission.
- a crawler chassis of the type mentioned at the outset is essentially characterized in that a deflection wheel or the further deflection or drive wheel can be coupled to the drive axis via an intermediate plate which can be fixed on the bearing or drive axis of the vehicle.
- Such an intermediate plate can be easily mounted on the bearing or drive axle of the vehicle
- Axis of the vehicle can be taken into account. Since the crawler track can be coupled directly to a bearing or drive axle for a wheel of the vehicle to be equipped with the crawler track via one of the deflecting wheels arranged at the ends of the undercarriage or a further deflecting or drive wheel, a crawler undercarriage can usually be simply attached to the provided for a wheel or a tire of the vehicle bearing or drive axle using the intermediate plate, so that any changes in the chassis of the tracked factory-equipped vehicle can be dispensed with.
- a simple retrofitting of the vehicle to be equipped with the crawler undercarriage according to the invention is thus possible, so that depending on the intended use either the wheels typically used, for example, are used, while for use in particularly difficult terrain, the wheels are replaced by the crawler undercarriages provided according to the invention can.
- a common carrier is provided on which the further deflection or drive wheel in a greater distance from the support surface of the caterpillar track on the floor than the deflection wheels provided on the longitudinal ends.
- crawler undercarriages By using such crawler undercarriages, correspondingly higher forces can be transmitted to the ground due to the increased contact or contact surfaces of the crawler undercarriage on the ground compared to the use of wheels, so that the vehicle can also be used, for example, in relatively steep terrain Use of the crawler tracks significantly increases the overall footprint compared to the use of tires.
- the further deflection or drive wheel is arranged eccentrically relative to the deflection wheels provided on the longitudinal ends.
- Such an eccentric arrangement of the further deflection or drive wheel which is used for coupling to the bearing or drive axle of the vehicle to be equipped with the crawler undercarriage according to the invention, allows in particular small distances between the individual bearing axles of the vehicle to be controlled.
- a plurality of support wheels in particular at least four support wheels, is provided at least between the deflection wheels provided on the longitudinal ends.
- the training and choice of the number of support wheels can be directly adapted to the special construction of the crawler track.
- the chain of the crawler track is made of metal, in particular steel. det. With such chains made of metal, correspondingly large forces can be reliably transmitted from the vehicle to the ground.
- the equipment can only be found on the drive axle if only one driven axle of the vehicle is provided.
- an all-terrain vehicle in particular an agricultural or forestry vehicle, that all wheels are replaced by crawler tracks according to the invention.
- a correspondingly increased tractive force can be introduced from the vehicle into the ground and overall a considerably larger footprint can be achieved, which leads to a reliable increase in the stability of the vehicle, particularly in rough terrain.
- Vehicles are designed, for example, with additional swivel or articulated axes in the area of the frame in order to enable corresponding movements in the smallest of spaces.
- additional swivel or articulated axes in the area of the frame in order to enable corresponding movements in the smallest of spaces.
- FIG. 1 shows a schematic side view of a first embodiment of an in particular all-terrain vehicle which is to be equipped with crawler tracks according to the present invention
- FIG. 2 shows, in a side view similar to FIG. 1, a modified embodiment of a vehicle to be equipped with crawler tracks according to the invention;
- Fig. 3 is replaced in a schematic view of the dung by modern inventions • "crawlers wheels of the vehicle of FIG. 1;
- FIG. 4 shows a side view, partially in section, of a crawler undercarriage according to the invention in an enlarged representation compared to FIG. 3;
- FIG. 5 is a partially perspective exploded view of a crawler track according to the invention, the deflection wheels and the chain being partially omitted; and FIG. 6 in a schematic side view similar to FIG. 4 shows a modified embodiment of a crawler chassis according to the invention for the replacement of immediately adjacent mutually arranged wheels of a vehicle, as shown in Fig. 2.
- FIG. 1 and 2 each represent 1, in particular an off-road vehicle, for example an agricultural or forestry vehicle, the vehicle having four wheels 2 in the embodiment according to FIG. 1.
- a crane boom is indicated schematically with 3, on which, for example, a processing tool 4 is provided.
- vehicle 1 substantially in the center of the frame an additional axis 5, which can be at 'the front part of the machine is pivoted relative to the rear part.
- axles of the wheels 2 can also be pivoted by appropriate suspensions.
- crawler tracks 6 each have at the longitudinal ends schematically indicated deflection wheels 7 for the chain 8 formed in particular from metal.
- the determination of the caterpillar Work 6 takes place, as will be discussed in more detail below, by fixing a further deflection or drive wheel 9 of the crawler chassis directly on the bearing or drive axis of the wheel 2 indicated schematically by 10.
- the pivotability or kinkability of the vehicle 1 in the area of the frame center is retained in spite of the crawler tracks 6 which are longer than the wheels 2, since the inner contour of the crawler tracks 6 directed towards the center of the vehicle essentially the same with the contour of the wheel 2 relative to the driving direction indicated by the pivot axis 5
- the middle of the tool runs, while at the outward end of the crawler track 6, the deflecting wheel 7 significantly exceeds the schematically indicated contour of the wheel 2.
- the crawler tracks 6, in particular, it is possible to achieve an increased contact surface of the vehicle, so that the stability of the vehicle is correspondingly increased even in rough terrain.
- the increased contact area also allows an increased tractive force to be transmitted from the vehicle to the ground 12.
- the caterpillar tracks 6, which have a comparatively large weight compared to the wheels 2 result in a lowering of the center of gravity of the entire vehicle 1, which in turn increases the stability of the vehicle in rough, in particular steep terrain.
- Support or frame structure are stored, which in
- Fig. 4 is indicated schematically at 13, on this
- the additional deflection or drive wheel 9, which can be fixed directly on the bearing or drive axis of the wheel 2, is a greater distance from the contact surface of the chain 8 on the floor 12 than that at the longitudinal ends of the crawler track 6 arranged deflection wheels 7.
- the bearing or support structure of the crawler chassis 6 is shown in greater detail, wherein both the chain 8 and the individual deflection wheels are not shown in Fig. 5.
- Fig. 5 it can be seen that essentially two longitudinal beams 13 are provided, the counter bearing 15 for the additional deflection or drive wheel 9 being provided on a corresponding additional bearing structure 14.
- an intermediate plate 16 on the merely schematically indicated bearing or drive axis 17 for the not shown in detail The wheel is fixed, the support structure 13, 14 of the crawler chassis 6 being fixed on the drive axle 17 by fixing the additional deflection or drive wheel 9 after the intermediate plate 16 has been fixed.
- FIG. 6 shows a modified embodiment of a crawler chassis 6 in a representation similar to FIG. 4, wherein in addition to the deflection wheels for the chain 8 provided on the longitudinal ends, again designated 7, two further or additional deflection or drive wheels 9 are provided, which are matched to the position of the axles of two adjacent wheels 2, so that a double axle of the vehicle shown in FIG. 2 can be equipped with the crawler chassis 6 shown in FIG. 6. While an arrangement of the crawler track shown in FIG. 6 takes place on the front axles of the vehicle according to FIG. 2, a crawler track according to the embodiment of FIG. 4 can again be provided for the rear axle.
