Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a device for quickly carrying out support and wedging in position of a rigid or semi-rigid material flat in appearance such as for example a panel, a plate, a board, etc. or of the elongated and thin type such as for example a slat, a rod, a tube, a rod, etc. in order to perform an operation adjustment.
  • adjustment operation is meant cutting, wake, filing, planing, welding, sanding, etc.
  • the object of the invention is to overcome the drawbacks of the prior art by offering a solution that is easier to implement and whose manufacturing cost is relatively inexpensive.
  • they may be linear or quasi-linear support elements, or support points, then at least three in number.
  • the seat structure is then such that it has zones or support points sufficiently distant from each other to allow correct stability despite the fact that the support structure extends in a vertical plane.
  • the conformation chosen must ensure correct positioning even if the ground is unequal. In the case where the support points are three in number, one of them may consist of a wider support area than the two support points residual.
  • the lower seat structure can be made from at least one element rod or tube type, curved or not, which has a central section of shape horizontal and each end of which has two lateral arms symmetrical, the free ends of the latter constituting the support points at support wedge floor.
  • This element is preferably metallic.
  • two of the lateral arms deviate laterally from the section central and are inclined downward, while the other two arms are horizontal and form a V-shaped fork extending outwards, the free end of each arm being bent or curved downwards and of vertical form to form a support point on the ground.
  • each wedge support is for example made in two identical parts fixed longitudinally and symmetrically one compared to each other.
  • Two suitably bent rods can be used, for example to make each part, said rods being intended to be welded one to the other.
  • each support wedge may also consist of a parallelepiped sole on the upper face of which the upper structure is secured.
  • the looking face the floor is then equipped with two non-slip pads, arranged at each end and forming the support points on the ground.
  • each support wedge includes means for rigging.
  • the user actually holds the material to be adjusted with one hand by exerting a pressure substantially from top to bottom, and can thus handle its tool with the other hand.
  • said wedging means consist of an inclined portion of the upper structure and in a portion adjacent to the first vertical appearance, the first being able to support, in support, one face of the planar material and the second being able to receive, always in support, a song from the latter.
  • the pace portion vertical for example has a curved V-shaped section for nesting from the lateral edge of a flat material, the face of which comes to rest against the inclined portion.
  • the lower branch of said curved section is horizontal, and an added member, for example snapped onto the structure upper, allows to extend horizontally said branch by performing with this one a support for the setting in horizontal position of a plane material of lesser width.
  • the two support wedges are used in combination, on either side of the medium plane of the material and at each end of it, so that the wedging means of one wedge cooperate with those of the other wedge. Such cooperation also allows the vertical setting of a material.
  • said wedging means consist of a portion of the rod vertical, the lower free end of which is bent or curved in a V upwards, the lateral edge of the flat material coming to rest vertically in the space between the rod portion and its free end, means allowing the panel to be locked in position.
  • said blocking means consist of a half washer suitable for fitting onto the portion of rod having a vertical appearance, said washer which can rotate around it until it comes to bear against the face of the planar material.
  • the washer mounted on the vertical-looking rod of the other wedge makes it as much to come into abutment against the opposite face of said planar material.
  • the locking means take the form of a part can pivot about an axis to bear against a face of the material plan, the other wedge support comprising the same pivoting part coming to bear against the opposite side.
  • the blocking means consists of a sliding piece mounted on the upper structure of a first wedge support to bear against one face of the flat material, an identical part arranged on the other wedge support bearing against the opposite face of this planar material.
  • the blocking means consists of a section curved of said rod portion, forming a projection capable of pressing against one face of the planar material, the blocking in position of this being done by playing slightly on the positioning of the second wedge support having the same protruding and coming to bear against the opposite face.
  • the device of the invention is used in the manner of a kit which includes additional elements providing it with significant modularity.
  • this device may include an attached support part, provided with a groove median allowing its mounting on the upper structure of each support wedge, said part comprising one or more cutouts on its upper face in V shape, allowing a setting of the material to be adjusted.
  • This element which comes to fit on each wedge support, allows by example the positioning of material with weak wall such as a gutter.
  • the device of the invention can also include one or more supports complementary associated with at least one wedge support to hold a material plane in horizontal or slightly tilted position. It can be a candle comprising at least three support points on the ground and an upper portion allowing the flat material to be locked in position.
  • the upper part consists of a vertical-looking rod provided a non-slip tip and each ground support point is also provided a non-slip tip.
  • the tripod shape is known per se and guarantees stability important.
  • the reference (1) designates as a whole the wedge support according to the invention.
  • This includes a seat structure (2) on which is fixed to the support structure.
  • This lower seat structure comprises a central section (4) of rod or in tube, each end of which carries two arms (5, 6 and 7, 8) which move towards outside.
  • the first mentioned extend substantially perpendicularly on either side of the central part (4) and have a tip at their end (10) made of a non-slip material.
  • the second (7, 8) form at the end opposite of this central part a V-shaped fork, the end (7 ', 8') of each limb being bent downwards and also provided with a non-slip tip (10).
  • the upper structure (9) is produced from a single curved rod, and has an inclined portion (11) and a portion (12) of vertical appearance, forming together a V.
  • the first being intended to support for example the face bottom of a panel (not shown), the edge of the latter coming to bear against the vertical portion (12).
  • the rod in the extension of the portion (11), the rod has a vertical-looking portion (13) whose free end (14) is bent upwards.
  • Said rod is fixed to the seat structure (2) for example by welding.
  • FIG. 2 shows an alternative embodiment of the invention in which the seat structure (2) takes the form of a sole (15) of parallelepiped shape. This is provided in light material and present on its underside, on each side, two non-slip pads (16, 17 and 18, 19).
  • FIG. 3 illustrates the use of a device of the invention.
  • the pace portion vertical (12) as mentioned previously then has a section (20) curved in V.
  • the two support wedges (1) are arranged in parallel one to the other and the side edge of the panel (21) to be adjusted fits into this section (20) in V while the underside of this panel (21) comes to rest against the inclined part (11) of each wedge support (1).
  • FIG. 4 shows an alternative embodiment of the support used in the arrangement illustrated in Figure 3, with a rod (12) provided with a curved section (20). This has a horizontal-looking branch (41). A triangular piece (22) is attached to the lower portion of the rod (12) around which it can pivot to be positioned in the extension of the branch (41). The upper surface (22a) creates with the lower branch of V (20) a surface support allowing the horizontal setting of a board whose lateral edge then comes hang in the curved section (20).
  • FIG. 5 illustrates the vertical positioning of a panel using two devices according to the invention.
  • the shim supports (1) are arranged on either side of said panel (23), at each end thereof. The side edge lower of the panel (23) is then positioned in contact with the rod (13), resting in the curved end (14). However, the positioning is not really stable.
  • each support (1) further comprises means for locking (24) in position, acting on each side of said panel (23).
  • these means (24) take the shape of a rectangular piece (25), pivotally mounted about an axis (26) on each support wedge (1).
  • This part (25) pivots from a position substantially horizontal in a vertical position and a vertical side edge then comes press against the panel (23) to lock it in position.
  • the piece (25) of the other wedge support (1) acts in the same way to complete the blocking.
  • Figure 6 illustrates an alternative embodiment of these means (24), consisting a half washer (42) which snaps onto the rod (13), blocking the panel (23) then being obtained by a rotation of this washer (42) around the axis formed by this rod (13) until its curvilinear periphery comes in pressing against the face of the panel (23), thus performing the same function as the part (25) illustrated in Figure 5.
  • FIG. 7 shows yet another variant, in which the means of blocking consists of a prismatic piece (27) capable of sliding along of the rod (11), the end of which can come to bear against the wall of the panel (23).
  • FIG. 8 shows an additional variant embodiment of the blocking, which is produced by means of a curved portion (28) of the part (13) making projection, the blocking then being obtained by a movement of one of the two supports wedge (1), the other remaining in a fixed position.
  • FIG. 9 incorporates candles (29) made of tripods the three lower support ends of which are provided with a nozzle (30), the upper end (31) extending vertically upwards being provided with the same end piece (30).
  • the two wedge supports (1) are then positioned parallel and the end (14) of the rod (13) also has the same non-slip tip (30) located at the same level as those of the candles (29).
  • the panel (23) is then arranged horizontally, bearing on the ends upper portions (14, 31).
  • the device according to the invention therefore allows, depending on its conformation, a blocking and a wedging of a material in particular of planar appearance arranged in a position horizontal, vertical or inclined.
  • This modularity allows an operator to perform safely the operations he wants to perform by positioning his material from the most appropriate way. For example, it may be easier to cut of a board in vertical position.
  • Figure (10) finally shows the cooperation of a support according to the invention with a part (32), a side edge and the bottom edge of which are provided with a groove median (33) allowing its positioning on the upper structure (9) of a wedge support (1) according to the invention, at the level of the rod (12).
  • This piece allows varying the inclination plane of the support zone and thus increasing the modularity of the invention.
