Definitions
- the invention relates to a protective device such as that used in particular for bulletproof vests is used.
- Bulletproof vests which have pockets in which to protect against hard core ammunition a protective plate made of ceramic material can be inserted. When it hits hard core ammunition destroys the ceramic material due to its high hardness, the ceramic material being broken up, partially pulverized and catapulted away. There is a risk of the projectile escaping with ceramic chips. This Effect can be for bystanders and also for the wearer of the bulletproof vest cause serious injuries, possibly resulting in death. Flat ones are particularly problematic Impact angle.
- the object of the present invention is to design such a protective device in such a way that. the risk of injury from bouncing off the projectile is significantly reduced.
- a ceramic plate 1 for protection against hard core ammunition, through on a surface piece or a backing layer 2 made of fiber composite material Adhesive is applied, which is arranged on the side facing the carrier.
- a hood 3 is arranged above the ceramic plate 1, the z. B. from a fiber composite material with high-performance fibers.
- spacers 4 are provided, they preferably consist of a light, voluminous material, thanks to which there is only a sufficient distance between the hood material 3 is maintained by the ceramic plate 1 so that the hood 3 is not pressed in can if, for example, pressure should be exerted on the hood 3 by hand.
- a filling can be placed between the hood 3 and the ceramic plate 1 6 made of foam material can be provided, as indicated in Fig. 2.
- Such Filling 6 of the hood 3 with foam material serves on the one hand to maintain one sufficient distance between the hood 3 and ceramic plate 1 and on the other hand as additional splinter protection.
- a layer 7 is preferably provided on the firing side of the ceramic plate 1 made of high-strength fibers e.g. Aramid fibers glued on, which provide additional splinter protection forms and prevents the ceramic plate from tearing into fragments.
- the structure of ceramic plate 1 and hood 3 is expediently arranged in a casing 6, which encompasses the entire structure and the handling of the protective device or slipping into a pocket on a bulletproof vest is easier.
- This envelope 6 can be made of nylon fabric.
- the hood 3 is on the upper side with a slightly larger distance from the ceramic plate 1 reproduced.
- Such an embodiment can be used, for example, as a chest protector be provided if in particular a projectile hitting obliquely from below should be caught so that this does not point towards the chin of the wearer of the bulletproof Vest bounces off.
- the hood 3 can also be made reinforced in the area be in which a special catch effect is to be achieved, as is the case in FIG. 2 at 8 is indicated by an additional layer of material.
- Fig. 4 shows a modified embodiment of a structure with splinter hood 3, the this embodiment placed on the ceramic plate 1 via angled edges 9 is.
- webs 9 on the plate 1 z. B. be applied by gluing, which support a plate-shaped hood material 3.
- the splinter hood 3 consists of a laminate made of high-performance fibers, such as para-aramid fiber or high-strength Polyethylene fibers. Glass fibers can also be used.
- This High-performance fibers in the form of a fabric or scrim are pressed with synthetic resin, so that there is a dimensionally stable splinter hood which can be connected to the ceramic plate 1 e.g. by gluing can be firmly connected along the edges.
- spacers 4 in the form of rubber elements with a Adhesive film are provided for attachment.
- the distance between splinter hood 3 and ceramic plate 1 should correspond to the respective caliber or storey diameter correspond, i.e. between 5 and 8 mm.
- the described configuration can not only be used as an insert for bulletproof vests and the same bullet-holding garments are used, but z. B. also for Armor of vehicles and the like, in which to protect against Hard core ammunition ceramic plates or the like hard deposits can be used.
