Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a wiping article consisting of a fabric or a knit and specially designed for wiping smooth surfaces.
  • textile-type materials for wiping whether in the industrial or domestic field, is well known.
  • the choice of the textile material and the structure of the article are determined according to its end use.
  • a material having absorption or adsorption properties by capillarity is used.
  • a material having electrostatic properties is chosen.
  • the structure of the article may be a non-woven structure, in which the textile materials, in the form of fibers or filaments are intermixed and bonded by chemical or mechanical means. It may be a woven or knitted structure in which the textile materials are in the form of threads, themselves made of fibers or filaments, said threads being assembled according to binding modes functions of the texture of the fabric or knitting.
  • the nonwovens are of lower cost but of less mechanical strength; in addition to use there may be a greater release of the fibers or filaments that compose it.
  • the wiping article comprises a flat textile structure having shaved hairs on the surface.
  • the different zones are distinguished by the degree of fineness of the individual fibers constituting said hair.
  • the different zones are distinguished by the difference in weight per m 2 . More specifically, it comprises at least one zone having a given first weight, comprised between 30 and 120 g / m 2 and at least one second zone having a weight that is not more than 80% of the given weight of the first zone.
  • the article in question has a nonwoven structure.
  • the wiper article comprises first rows having on the surface rigid bristles made of monofilaments for example polypropylene and, between the first rows, second rows having on the surface a greater density of soft bristles.
  • the stiffer hairs give off lint: soft hairs collect lint and provide a polishing and softening effect. Possibly the stiff hairs may be of greater height than the soft hairs.
  • the aim of the Applicant is to provide a wiping article consisting of a woven or knit fabric material which has a different structure from the existing structures and which has improved wipe properties of the smooth surfaces. , especially with regard to the removal of fibrous soils, that these soils are already present on the surface to be cleaned or come from a release of the article itself and whatever the wiping direction, in S or W, avoiding the release of particulate dirt in the passages where there is a change of direction during wiping.
  • the cleaning article of the invention which, in a known manner, is a woven or knitted textile article, in which certain threads form reliefs with respect to the bottom of the article, said article presenting zones with more high relief so-called areas of recovery and lower relief areas called storage areas.
  • the reliefs are in the form of parallel lines.
  • the article comprises first recovery zones in which the lines forming the reliefs are in a longitudinal direction and second recovery zones in which the lines forming the reliefs are in a transverse direction.
  • the wiping article is a fabric whose different zones are in the form of a checkerboard, a storage zone being interposed between two recovery zones, both in the longitudinal direction and in the transverse direction. .
  • the general principle which is at the basis of the invention is to design, for a wiping article consisting of a fabric or knit, a particular weave in order to reduce the risk of particulate release of the article , including fibrous type particles may be released by the article itself during handling of the article.
  • the wiping of a smooth surface consists in moving the article so that it applies, during this movement, to all of the said area.
  • the mode of displacement is generally either S ( Figure 1) or W ( Figure 2).
  • S wiping the article is moved in a transverse general direction, from one side edge to the other.
  • W the displacement is in a longitudinal general direction, going from a front edge to the rear edge if it is a horizontal surface and from the highest edge to the lowest edge s' it is a vertical surface.
  • the article be capable of recovering and not releasing particulate soils throughout its movement, including in passages where there is a change of direction of movement, at the elbows of S or In these passages, particularly in the case of hair tissue, there is also a change in the inclination of the fibers in contact with the soil when changing the wiping direction. During this change of inclination, the stains can be detached from the article and thus be released.
  • the article of the invention is a fabric or a knit whose mode of bonding of the threads is determined so as to form zones with differentiated reliefs, namely so-called recovery zones in which the reliefs are at a given height relative to at the bottom of the article and storage areas in which the reliefs are at a height less than the height of the reliefs of the recovery zones.
  • the most pronounced reliefs involve the entrainment of particulate, especially fibrous, smears on the smooth surface to be wiped.
  • said particulate soils are moved from a high relief area to an adjacent area of lower relief, so that said particulate soils are collected and stored in the latter area, said storage area.
  • Figure 3 is illustrated a first example woven wiping article whose binding mode is determined to form a kind of checkerboard each box constitutes a zone of either recovery or storage.
  • the storage areas 2 are shown schematically with lines hatched obliquely in both directions.
  • the recovery zones 3,4 they are represented by parallel lines either horizontal 3 or vertical 4. Each of these lines represents the configuration of the relief formed by the wires in each of these zones.
  • the reliefs form prominences aligned in the transverse direction of the article 1, for example in the weft direction (T).
  • the reliefs form prominences aligned in the longitudinal direction of the article 1, for example in the warp direction (C).
  • a substantially square shaped storage zone 2 is, in the C-chain direction as in the T-frame direction, adjacent by its two opposite sides, with a first recovery zone 3 and a second recovery zone 4.
  • the differentiated areas 2,3,4 are squares having 1 to 5cm side.
  • the difference in height of the reliefs between the storage areas 2 and the recovery zones 3, 4 is of the order of 0.5 to 10 mm.
  • the prominences 10, 11 are constituted by larger threads, forming in a manner of loops that are raised above the bottom of the article, either in weft (for the prominences 10) or in the warp (for the prominences 11 ).
  • the squares constituting the first recovery zones 8b in weft on the fabric place form second recovery zones 8a chain on the back of the fabric.
  • the prominences 10, 11 were made from 50% polyester / 50% polyamide microfilament yarns, two-component yarns, whose strands are separated after an alkaline treatment so as to obtain unitary strands of the order of 0.22 dtex.It is both in warp and weft, son of 350 dtex.
  • the finished article had a weight of about 220 g / m 2 .
  • the prominences aligned in the first and second recovery areas had a height of about 3mm from the bottom of the article. In comparison, the reliefs of the storage areas had a height of less than 2 mm from the bottom of the article.
  • each unit filament would be of the order of 0.56 dtex.
  • each first and second recovery zones 8a, 8b comprised thirteen raised lines 12, each line being itself constituted by the succession of six or seven protuberances 10, 11 formed by the binding mode of the different wires used.
  • This configuration is not exclusive; however the applicant has noticed that good results were obtained with a density of raised lines of the order of 3 to 7 / cm.
