Definitions
- the invention relates to a window or door profile with a plurality of hollow chambers formed by webs, a method for producing such profiles and a profile system for producing windows and doors.
- thermoplastic is first plasticized in an extruder, shaped into the desired hollow chamber profile in an extrusion tool and then calibrated in a downstream caliber.
- so-called outer calibers are used, in which the outer contour of the profile is calibrated, while certain tolerances are permissible for the inner chambers.
- Such hollow chamber profiles for windows or doors are known for example from DE-A-197 36 393.
- these profiles are extruded with a wall thickness that differs between 2 and 3.5 mm depending on the country-specific standard.
- the profiles usually have a large inner hollow chamber into which a reinforcing profile, usually a steel profile, can be inserted to increase the rigidity.
- the object of the invention is to solve this problem.
- the invention proposes a window or door profile with a plurality of hollow chambers formed by webs, in which the walls forming the outer contour and the webs delimiting the intermediate chambers each have a wall thickness below 4 mm, preferably between 2 and 4 mm, so that the Walls and / or webs at least partially consist of foamed hard PVC with a degree of foaming between 1.05 and 1.2.
- the degree of foaming is understood to be the quotient of the density of an unfoamed rigid PVC material and the density of the rigid PVC material foamed according to the invention.
- a degree of foaming of 1.10 means that the material of the profile is foamed by 10%, the density thus corresponds to 0.91 times that of the non-foamed material.
- a degree of foaming of 1.05 leads to a density of the foamed profile of 1.38 g / cm 3
- a degree of foaming of 1.20 leads to a density of the foamed profile leads from 1.21 g / cm 3 .
- the pore structure is so fine that it can hardly be seen with the naked eye.
- the surface of the extruded profile is almost identical to that of an unfoamed profile.
- the density of the slightly foamed profiles is preferably 1.20 to 1.40 g / cm 3 .
- the window or door profiles produced according to the invention thus have a weight which is 5 to 20% lower than non-foamed profiles with the same inside and outside dimensions, ie in particular the same wall thickness, which were extruded from the corresponding compact material.
- a window pane extruded from lightly foamed rigid PVC can be particularly advantageous. or door profile can be combined with a corresponding profile made of non-foamed hard PVC with at least largely identical outer and inner contours, since the same secondary profiles and accessories can be used for such a profile system.
- the unfoamed and the correspondingly extruded profile with a degree of foaming between 1.05 and 1.2 differ only in the density of the material, but not in the other dimensions or essential properties. However, 5 to 20% by weight of material is saved in the production of the foamed profile.
- the foamed profiles according to the invention can be processed in exactly the same way as the corresponding unfoamed profiles.
- they can be welded in the same way in the miter area, surprisingly resulting in the same high corner strengths.
- the same method is advantageously used as is known for the production of profiles extruded from non-foamed rigid PVC, namely melting the batch in an extruder, shaping the profile in an extrusion tool and then calibrating at least the outer contours in a chilled caliber.
- the batch In addition to the rigid PVC, customary pigments, stabilizers and possibly impact modifiers, the batch only contains 0.2 to 2% by weight of a chemical blowing agent.
- Azodicarbonamide is advantageously used as the chemical blowing agent, if appropriate with conventional accelerators or additives which influence the decomposition temperature of the azodicarbonamide.
- the mixture is foamed in the last section of the extruder screw or in the transition between the screw and the molding tool.
- the foaming should have been largely at least when leaving the tool.
- the material foams up in caliber dimensionally accurate extrusion of the webs is almost impossible.
- the profile is extruded from two different approaches in the coextrusion method.
- One possibility for this is to extrude the core of the profile, possibly including the inner part of the outer walls, from recycled material, while the outer layer is made from fresh material.
- the foaming agent is advantageously used only in the core batch, for example the recyclate batch.
- coextrusion processes with different approaches are known to the person skilled in the art.
- the profile is advantageously cooled both from the outside and in the area of the inner chambers by injecting an air / water mixture. This results in a higher extrusion performance and greater dimensional stability of the inner chambers.
- a particular advantage of the method according to the invention is that both a profile extruded from non-foamed material and the profile extruded according to the invention with a degree of foaming between 1.05 and 1.2 are produced with the same tools and calibres and, except for the foaming, with the same method parameters can be.
- the blowing agent can either be mixed homogeneously into the basic batch and fed to the extruder together with it, but the foaming agent can also be added continuously directly into the feed hopper of the extruder.
- the profiles produced in this way in foamed and / or non-foamed design are the same with regard to all external and internal dimensions within the scope of the manufacturing tolerances, so that all secondary profiles and other accessories can be used for both profiles.
- the mechanical properties of the foamed profile are almost the same as those of the unfoamed profile, in particular the corner strength after welding is identical to that of an unfoamed profile within the scope of the measurement accuracy.
- a casement profile according to this example with a degree of foaming of 1.11 is shown.
- the inner chamber is used to hold a steel reinforcement profile.
- the outer contours and the contours of the inner chambers including the reinforcement chamber are exactly the same as those of an unfoamed profile.
- the structure of the rigid PVC material is microporous.
- the degree of foaming of the profile is 1.11, so that 11% by weight of material is used less than with an unfoamed profile.
- a frame according to an alternative embodiment of the invention is shown.
- the degree of foaming was 1.11.
- the outer area of the profile is coextruded from unfoamed fresh material of the same composition according to Table 1.
- the invention can be advantageous for both the so-called main profiles for the production of windows and doors, d. H. in particular for frame profiles, the sash profiles and the fighter or mullion profiles, as well as for so-called secondary profiles including widening, connecting and cladding profiles.
