Abstract

The packaging box comprises a body (11) and a cover (12) which can pivot around an edge (13). The body has a front face (14) and the cover has a flap (16) which is parallel to the body front face when closed. A tab (19a) on the lower edge of the flap penetrates a slot (19) in the front face to hold the cover closed. The roller is formed from a succession of sections separated from each other by a pre-cut line. The upper edge of the front face has a projection (18) near the cover which engages the pre-cut line of the sheet roll during its unwinding from the roller.

Description

The present invention relates to a packaging box intended to contain a roll of sheet material, this material consisting of successive sections interconnected by a precut line, said sections to be separated as and when unfolding of the roll by pulling the user on the end section. For the purposes of the present application, the generic term "sheet material" covers, in particular, a succession of bags formed by two superimposed sheets connected together in a suitable manner to form bags.

A sheet material dispensing device consisting of sections interconnected by a precut line is for example described in the document US 3,098,594 on which the preamble of the main claim is based.

In another state of the art illustrated by the figure 1 . so that the tear can be performed easily, it is known to conform the package appropriately. To do this, the packaging, which has a parallelepipedal shape, comprises a cover capable of opening to allow passage to a section of the roll, said cover generally constituting the upper wall of the package and being connected to a flap constituted by by the upper part of the front face of the package, the other part of the front face, that is to say that which is not connected to the cover, being provided with a projection corresponding to a recess of the flap attached to the lid to allow the cover to be replaced. This protrusion rubs on the sheet material as it unfolds out of the package and cooperates with the precut line of a stub to stop the unwinding of the roll, so that the traction exerted by the user on the section causes tearing of the sheet material to the right of the precut line.

In such an embodiment, the flap of the lid therefore comprises, in its central zone, a recess corresponding to the projection of the front face, so that this recessed area does not make it possible to constitute a tongue allowing the packaging to be closed again. inserting said tongue into a slot provided for this purpose on the lower part of the front face of the package. As a result, the cover can be replaced on the body in the closed position but can not include any locking means ensuring its retention in the closed position. Such a locking device for holding the lid of a package in the closed position is known per se for packages that do not have a recess in the flap of the lid, due to the fact that the front of the package does not include a projection intended to cooperate with a precut line: this is the case, for example, aluminum foil rolls for household use.

A device for dispensing medical gauze for maintaining sterile conditions of the gauze is described in the document US 1 866 130 .

The object of the present invention is to propose a packaging box of the type defined above in which it is possible to benefit both from the presence of a projection on the upper edge of the front face of the package and from a slit-tongue assembly for holding the lid in a position corresponding to the closing of the box by engagement of said tongue in said slot.

The present invention accordingly relates to a packaging box having the shape of a rectangular parallelepiped for enclosing a roll of sheet material, said box having a body and a cover, which forms the upper part of the box and is pivotable relative to the body around an edge substantially parallel to the axis of the roller, the body having a front face and the cover having a flap which, in the closed position of the box, is parallel to said front face and placed on the side of the front face where the roll is not located, a tongue being formed on the bottom edge of the flap and able to enter a slot of said front face to hold the cover in its position corresponding to the closure of the box, characterized in that the roll is constituted by a succession of sections separated from each other by a precut line and that the bor the upper hard end of the front face comprises at least one projection adjacent the cover in its position corresponding to the closure of the box, said projection being engageable with a precut line of the sheet material of the roll during the unwinding of said roll.

In a preferred embodiment, the front face of the body of the box has a single projection which is formed in the central zone of the upper edge of said front face; the projection of said upper edge may have a trapezoidal shape.

It can be provided that the tab formed on the lower edge of the lid flap is disposed in the central zone of said lower border.

Advantageously, the flap of the lid is, before the first opening of the box, secured to the front face of the box body by strips arranged on either side of the tongue, said strips being connected to the flap by a precut line. and being fixed on the lower part of the front face. Preferably, the slot of the front face is formed between said strips, to the right of the tongue when the flap of the cover covers the front face in the closed position e the box.

The box according to the invention finds a particularly advantageous application when the roll of sheet material is a roll of plastic bags, for example a roll of freezer bags.

It can be seen that the box according to the invention makes it possible to benefit simultaneously from two advantages: firstly, the box has a slot-tongue assembly which makes it possible, after the first opening of the box, to hold the lid in the corresponding position when closing the box; on the other hand, the box has, on the upper edge of its front face, a protrusion making it possible to facilitate the tearing of a precut line of the sheet material by clinging to this precut line at the moment when the user pulls on the upstream section of the sheet material to extract it from the box by unwinding the roll. To date, there have been no packaging boxes with these two essential characteristics; the closure by the slit-tongue assembly already existed on many packaging and, in particular, on the packaging boxes of rolls of aluminum foil; the projection carried by the front face already existed for a packaging box intended to contain a roll of sheet material constituted by a succession of sections separated from each other by a cutting line but, in this case, the projection n ' was not spared on the upper edge of the front face but on a median area of this face, which forced to fold the front so that the projection appears on the folding edge and, in this case, the projection was taken on the cover flap, from which it was that this flap had a recess in the area where it had been necessary to reveal a tab for locking the lid in its closed position of the box.

Referring to the drawing, we see that the figure 1 represents a packaging box of the state of the art in which the roll of sheet material has not been shown. This box is a rectangular parallelepiped and has a body designated by 1 as a whole and a lid designated by 2, the body and the lid being connected along an edge 3 parallel to the major axis of the box, that is to say say the long axis of the packaged roller in the box. The box is shown in its open position. The front face 4 of the can body carries, on its lower part, a band 5 which is glued on the front face 4 and which, before the first opening of the box, was secured to the flap 6 of the cover 2. The front face 4 includes a wide obviously obtained by folding of the upper portion 4a of the face 4 toward the interior of the box, this folding is made possible by cutting lines from the upper edge of the front face to the vicinity of the band 5. The flap 6 has a height which corresponds to the difference between the height of the front face 4 before folding and the height of the band 5. The flap 6 has been separated from the strip 5 along a precut line at the time of first opening of the box and this precut line shows a projection 7 which corresponds to a recess 7 a the flap 6. In the same way, the front face has a precut line which leaves, behind the projection 7, a projection 8, from which it follows that the projections 7 and 8 cooperate to cause tearing of the sheet material of the roll at a precut line of said sheet material. It is quite clear that, in this embodiment, it is completely impossible to provide on the flap 6 of the cover 2 a tab capable of ensuring the maintenance of the lid 2 in its closed position, because this tongue should be in the central zone flap, which is occupied by the recess 7 a .

The Figures 2 to 6 represent a packaging box according to the invention. It can be seen that this box is a rectangular parallelepiped of cardboard and comprises a body designated by 11 as a whole and a cover 12, the body and the cover being connected along an edge 13 parallel to the major axis of the box, that is, the long axis of the packaged roll 20 in the box. The lid 12 comprises a flap 16, disposed opposite the edge 13. The front face 14 of the can body carries, on its lower part, two strips 15 arranged symmetrically with respect to the transverse plane of symmetry of the box, that is to say, the plane marked by V on the figure 3 . The strips 15 are glued on the front face 4 and are, before the first opening of the box, integral with the flap 16 of the cover 12, a precut line (shown in dashed line on the figure 2 ) at the first opening of the box, the user separates the flap 16 from the strips 15 so as to allow the opening of the box by lifting the lid, as shown in FIG. figure 3 .

The front panel 4 includes, between the strips 15, a slot-shaped arc, the ends of the slot being covered by the ends of the strips 15. The flap 16 has, in its central zone a tongue 19a, whose width corresponds to the distance between the strips 15, the tongue 19a having a height corresponding to the height of the strips 15 adjacent the slot 19. in this way, when closing the box by folding the cover 12 on the body 11, the tongue 19 has been housed inside the slot 19 to maintain the lid 12 on the body 11.

Along its upper edge, that is to say the side of the cover 12, the front face 14 has a projection 18 of trapezoidal shape. The cover 12 comes, in the closed position of the box, in contact with the upper edge of the projection 18. When the user, having opened the box, pulls the constituent sheet material of the packaged roll 20 in the box, the sheet material comes to bear on the projection 18 which, at the time of passage of a precut line of said sheet material, will be able to catch on the precut line and thus cause a tear separating two successive sections of the material in sheet under the tensile force exerted by the user in the direction of the arrow F of the figure 5 . A precut line is generally constituted by a succession of slots of short length separated from each other by uncut areas of short length. To facilitate the attachment of the projection 18 on a precut line, it is advantageous to provide that the area of the precut line which will pass to the right of the projection 18 during the unwinding of the roll is entirely split to a corresponding length substantially along the length of the projection; in this way, the projection penetrates entirely into this slot, which facilitates the tearing of the sheet material and the separation of two successive sections of said material. This arrangement is particularly effective when the sheet material consists of two sheets of plastic material forming the two large sides of a bag such as a freezer bag, for example.

It can therefore be seen that the box according to the invention makes it possible to benefit both from a projection 18 intended for tearing at the level of a precut of the sheet material and from a slot 19-tongue 19a assembly intended to hold the lid. 12 in its closed position.

It is understood that the embodiment described above is in no way limiting and may give rise to any desirable modifications without departing from the scope of the invention.

Claims (6)

1. Packaging box with a rectangle parallelepiped shape designed to contain one roll (20) of a film material, said roll (20) consisting of a succession of sections separated by a pre-cut line, said box including a body (11) and a lid (12), which forms the upper part of the box and is able to pivot with relation to the body (11) at an edge (13) that is roughly parallel to the axis of the roll (20), said body (11) including a front face (14), the upper edge of said front face (14) including at least one tab (18) next to the lid (12) in its position corresponding to the closure of the box, said tab (18) being capable of operating in conjunction with a pre-cut line in the film material of the roll (20), upon unrolling of said roll, the cover (12) including a flap (16) that, in the box-closed position, is parallel to said front face (14), characterized by the fact that said flap in the box-closed position is placed on the side of the front face (14) where the roll (20) is not found, that a tongue (19a) is attached to the lower edge of the flap (16), that said tongue (19a) can slide into a slit (19) in said front face (14) to hold the lid in the position corresponding to closure of the box, and that the flap (16) of the lid (12) is, before the box is opened for the first time, attached to the front face (14) by strips (15) located at either side of the tongue (19a), said strips (15) being attached to the flap (16) by a pre-cut line and being attached to the lower part of the front face (14).
2. Packaging box according to claim 1, characterized by the fact that the front face (14) includes a single tab (18) that is located in the central area of the upper edge of said front face (14).
3. Packaging box according to claim 2, characterized by the fact that the tab (18) of the upper edge of the front face (14) has a trapezoidal shape.
4. Packaging box according to any of claims 1 to 3, characterized by the fact that the tongue (19a) is located in the central area of the lower edge of the flap (16) of the lid (12).
5. Packaging box according to any of claims 1 to 4, characterized by the fact that the slit (19) in the front face (14) is located between the strips (15) in line with the tongue (19a) when the flap (16) of the lid (12) covers the front face (14) in the box-closed position.
6. Packaging box according to any of claims 1 to 5, characterized by the fact that the roll (20) of film material is a roll of plastic bags.
