Definitions
- the invention relates to small and very small microphones according to the introductory part of claim 1.
- These microphones usually have one, but more rarely two or more membranes, which mostly sit over recess in the shell of the cylindrical microphone.
- an internal cavity is created between a front and a bottom plate and the jacket with the openings, which are covered by the membranes, which is necessary and essential for the acoustic properties of the microphone.
- Such a microphone is from the GB 2 324 222 A , according to the DE 197 15 365 A , known.
- the recess assigned to the outer, membrane is used to prevent Moisture access in the interior of the microphone.
- the actual microphone membrane lies parallel to and within the outer membrane. It has a small opening in order to be deformed even in changes in ambient pressure, which are indeed transmitted through the outer membrane, in its rest position not deformed.
- Essential for the inner cavity is to have a pressure which corresponds as closely as possible to the static ambient pressure to keep the membranes in the rest position in a predetermined and well-defined position and in a state of tension also defined.
- both the length and the diameter of the assembled microphones is only a few millimeters.
- a pressure equalizing tube is preferably used with an inner diameter in the range of about 70 microns and a length of 3 to 4 mm, but it is also conceivable to use a kind stubble of open-cell foam or the like, although the tube of acoustic point of view is preferred.
- the flabby end membrane must actually be impermeable to moisture and as weak as possible, i. be designed and installed without bias and only serves to separate the compensation volume from the environment and protect.
- the new components used in the invention can be used for the new components used in the invention, the usual in the field of electroacoustic materials used so far, for example, polycarbonate, polyurethane, rubber or elastomers, but also metal foils and for the tube corrosion-resistant materials such. Nickel silver, corrosion-resistant steel (stainless steel) or plastic.
- FIG. 1 shows an axial section through a greatly enlarged microphone according to the invention.
- its length L is about 7 mm and its largest diameter D is about 4.5 mm.
- a microphone designated as a whole by 1 consists essentially of a housing 2 and two membranes 3 'and 3 ". which is surrounded on either side by the membranes 3 'and 3 "or the housing 1.
- a pressure equalization tube 4 is arranged, which has a high acoustic impedance due to its dimensions and its material, so that it acts as a low-pass filter. This ensures that the vibrations of the membranes 3 'and 3 ", which are to be transmitted in the audible frequency range, are too high-frequency to cause a noticeable pulsating flow of air from the inner cavity 7 through the tube 4 to a compensation cavity 8 ,
- the compensation cavity 8, is formed in the illustrated embodiment by a recess in the front panel 9 of the housing 2 and is sealed by a flabby protective membrane 6 against the environment.
- an annular component 10 is provided on the front plate 9, which preferably also serves as a fastening means for the flabby protective membrane 6.
- the pressure compensation tube 4 is preferably held by means of an insulator 5 in the end plate 9 so as to be vibration-technically and acoustically neutral and to influence the acoustic properties of the microphone as little as possible.
- the slack protective membrane 6 deforms analogously, for example when the air pressure is increased, it deforms in the direction of the inner cavity 7, until the entire volume is reduced the inner cavity 7 and the balance volume 8 again equilibrium prevails.
- the invention is of course not limited to the illustrated embodiment, but may be variously modified.
- the solution of the invention can also be applied to microphones with only one membrane, no tube must be used, but it can, as mentioned above, another component high acoustic impedance can be used, optionally also a combination of such, for example, sponge-like Component and a shorter tube can be used.
- the compensation volume 8 it is not necessary to arrange the compensation volume 8 on the front side of the microphone, it is also conceivable to arrange this on the side of the base of the microphone, if it succeeds at this point, at the yes, the electrical signal lines are guided, enough To provide space. If this succeeds, such an arrangement in the base area would certainly be desirable because of the mechanically protected position.
