Definitions
- the present invention relates generally to a spray device for a printing press, in particular for a web-fed offset printing machine, according to the preamble of Claim 1.
- dampening solution In modern printing processes such. B. offset printing on certain rollers transfer dampening solution and ink to a printing press. The color will then turn on a substrate, e.g. B. paper transferred.
- the dampening solution is in on the rollers sufficient quantity is required to achieve the desired transfer of color to the To ensure printing stock.
- the dampening solution consists of one ink-repellent water solution, which is on the non-printing sections of a Distributed pressure plate and thus prevents coloring of the non-printing sections.
- Controlling the amount and distribution of dampening solution is extremely important: At insufficient moistening there is a risk that the ink will not print Spreads sections. If the dampening is too strong, the excess dampening solution must be used caught and derived, and there is a risk of damage to the Too much moisture. An even, precisely dosed Applying dampening solution is therefore desirable.
- the spray dampening system for a printing press comprises a large number of spray nozzles, which in particular on a surface of a target element a dampening roller in a printing unit directed spray jets.
- Each of the spray nozzles goes through a spray cycle with a specified spray frequency and an individual Spray phase shift, the individual spray phase shifts such are synchronized that the effective frequency of the applied to the surface Spray jets are higher than the specified frequency.
- dampening solution in one Spray dampening system of a printing press uses a variety of dampening solutions Spray nozzles sprayed onto a surface of a target element in the printing unit, each the spray nozzles a spray cycle with a predetermined frequency and an individual Spray phase shift goes through.
- the individual spray phase shifts are synchronized so that the effective frequency of the applied to the surface Spray jets are higher than the specified frequency.
- the present invention provides an increased effective frequency of Spray jets reached, which goes beyond the limits of individual nozzles. hereby without the use of new, expensive nozzle technology Spray dampening systems and the quality of the dampening solution application can be significantly increased. Furthermore, the benefits of a pulsed spray dampening system are retained while the one achieved The result of the moistening is equivalent to a continuous dampening solution application.
- FIG. 1A shows a perspective view of a spray dampening system of the prior art with a spray bar 2, spray nozzles 4 and a generally cylindrical one Longitudinal axis 5 rotatable roller 6.
- a pressurized, over the spray bar 2nd supplied dampening solution is in the form of spray or spray mist 8 on the Moving surface 7 of the roller 6 applied by the spray nozzles 4 periodically be opened and closed.
- the spray nozzles generally go through the cycle at the same time and with a common frequency, which is based on various parameters, e.g. B. the printing speed can be varied.
- Figure 1B shows a cross section of the spray dampening unit of the prior art shown in FIG. 1A Technology. From Fig. 1C, as well as from Fig. 1A and 1B it can be seen that the spray nozzles of the spray dampening system of the prior art in a to the longitudinal axis 5 of the roller 6 in Are arranged essentially parallel row.

- the spray nozzles are above the surface 62 arranged in a rectangular array of M x N nozzles, as shown in Fig. 2C M is the number of rows and N is the number of columns. In the illustrated For example, M is three and N is eight.
- the spray nozzle assemblies 40a, 40b and 40c are activated periodically, i.e. H. with a predetermined frequency f opened and closed. According to the present In the exemplary embodiment, the nozzles are synchronized as follows:
- the cycle of the nozzle assembly 40b is out of phase with the nozzle assembly 40a and the nozzle assembly 40c is out of phase with the nozzle assembly 40b.
- the phase shift is selected such that the nozzle arrangement 40a directs a fountain solution jet onto the moving surface 62 of the roller 60 at a time t a .
- spray nozzle arrangement 40b directs a dampening solution jet onto surface 62.
- nozzle arrangement 40c subsequently directs a dampening solution spray jet onto surface 62 at a time t c , which converts with respect to time t b a predetermined period of time is offset.
- the nozzle arrangements thus spray one after the other, starting with the nozzle arrangement 40a.
- the sequence is preferably cyclical, ie 40a, 40b, 40c, 40a, 40b, 40c etc.
- the phase shifts between the nozzle arrangements 40a and 40b and between the nozzle arrangements 40b and 40c are preferably identical, so that the time period between the activation of the spray nozzle arrangements is always the same is.
- the nozzles of the different nozzle arrangements preferably have the same pulse length, ie the time during which the nozzles are open is preferably the same for all nozzles.
- FIG. 3A shows a schematic top view of a developed section of the surface 7 of the roller 6 of the spray dampening system of the prior art shown and described in FIGS. 1A, 1B and 1C.
- the spray areas 9 symbolize in a simplified manner the dampening solution application generated by means of individual, sequential spray jets from the nozzles 4 on the surface 7, while the latter moves past the nozzle 4 in the direction D due to the rotary movement of the roller 6.
- X A shows the cycle length of the nozzle 4.
- X A depends on the frequency of the nozzle and the (tangential) surface speed of the surface 7.
- the length Y A of the spray area and the length Z A of the dry area depend on the working cycle of the nozzle and the surface speed of the surface 7.
- FIG. 3B shows a schematic top view of a developed section of the surface 62 of the roller 60 of the embodiment of the spray dampening device according to the invention shown in FIGS. 2A, 2B and 2C and described above.
- Three spray nozzles 40a, 40b and 40c are shown, which represent a column of the M x N spray nozzle arrangement shown in FIG. 2C.
- the spray areas 90a, 90b and 90c represent, in simplified form, the application of dampening solution to the surface 62 by the individual fountain solution spray jets which are emitted one after the other from the spray nozzles 40a, 40b and 40c, while the latter moves in the direction D due to the rotary movement of the roller 60 moved past the nozzles.
- the nozzles 40a, 40b and 40c are opened and closed cyclically one after the other, this being done out of phase and preferably synchronized in time.
- the frequency f of one nozzle is the same for all nozzles 40a, 40b and 40c.
- X B shows the cycle length of a nozzle.
- Y B and Z B represent the length of a spray area and a dry area, respectively, on surface 62.
