Abstract

The bolt setting device has a housing containing a drive piston (5) which through a drive charge sets a fastener (15) which is held in a bolt guide (9) before and during the setting process. A spring of elastically deformable material draws back the piston after the setting process. The spring is formed as a sleeve (22), preferably a bellows sleeve, enclosing a shaft (8) of the piston. A brake element (16) is used to brake the piston relative to the housing at the end of the piston thrust.
