Claims (7)

  1. A device for deforming conductor sheaths, having
       a receiving element (4) which has at least one insertion slot (5) into which an individual conductor (11) may be pressed, and

       characterised in that each insertion slot (5) has sharp-edged cutting zones (6) constructed on two opposing sides in the longitudinal direction.
  2. A device according to Claim 1, characterised in that the receiving element (4) is mounted on a base frame (1), in that a lever arm (2) is mounted on the base frame (1) such that it is pivotal at a first end, in that the press-in element (7) is secured at the second end of the lever arm (2), and in that a handle (3) acts on the lever arm (2) by way of the actuation element (9).
  3. A device according to Claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the insertion slots (5) are widened in the outer region, as a result of which fixing members are formed for individual conductors (11) to be deformed.
  4. A device according to one of Claims I to 3, characterised in that the punch blades (8) are shaped to be concave on their edges facing the insertion slots (5).
  5. A device according to one of Claims 1 to 4, characterised in that the lever arm (2) is equipped with an adjustable height-wise abutment means (10) in the region of the press-in element (7).
  6. A device according to one of Claims 1 to 5, characterised in that the receiving element (4) and the press-in element (7) are mounted on the base frame (1) and the lever arm (2) respectively by means of detachable securing means.
  7. A method for deforming conductor sheaths with the aid of a device according to one of Claims 2 to 6, characterised by the following steps:
    a) inserting the individual conductors (11) in the insertion slots (5) of the receiving element (4),
    b) manually pivoting the lever arm (2) far enough for the punch blades (8) to lie on the individual conductors (11),
    c) manually pivoting the actuation element (9) by means of the handle (3),
    d) exerting pressure by the handle (3) on the lever arm (2) and the punch blades (8),
    e) laterally cutting the conductor sheaths (12) off the individual conductors (11) by pressing the individual conductors (11) into the cutting zones (6) of the insertion slots (5) by means of the punch blades (8).
