Claims (12)

  1. Terminal block with an insulating material housing and a connector for an insulated conductor which is resiliently clamped without stripping between a sharp edge and a counter support, characterised in that the connector has a pincer arrangement which is substantially C-shaped in cross-section and in which at least one folded-in side is designed as a sharp edge, in that the sharp edge (13) extends in the line-up direction and the direction in which the conductor (8) reaches its clamped position extends perpendicular to the sharp edge, and in that, in the line-up direction, the width of the sharp edge and the size of all constructional parts within the insulating material housing substantially does not exceed the external diameter of the thickest conductor provided.
  2. Terminal block according to claim 1, characterised in that the counter support is also a sharp edge and the two sharp edges can be moved toward one another in a pincer-like manner without lateral displacement.
  3. Terminal block according to claim 2, characterised in that the connector has an integral nipping sleeve (12) which is C-shaped in cross-section and is made of a resilient material, the mutually opposed folded-in sides of which are designed as sharp edges.
  4. Terminal block according to claim 3, characterised in that the pincer jaws of the nipping sleeve (12) spring apart and can be pressed toward one another by means of a screw or a cam, so the pincer jaws then exert a spring force on the sharp edges in the clamping direction.
  5. Terminal block according to claim 3, characterised in that the pincer jaws of the nipping sleeve (16) spring together and in that means are provided to open the pincer jaws.

Terminal block according to claim 2, characterised in that the connector has a pincer arrangement which is substantially C-shaped in cross-section, the pincer jaws of which are inserted one inside the other so as to be articulated to a limited extent and have folded-in sides which face one another and which are designed as sharp edges, one pincer jaw being a component of a conductor rail or a metal housing and therefore being fixed in the insulating material housing and the other pincer jaw being movable.
  9. Terminal block according to claim 8, characterised in that at least one of the two pincer jaws consists of a resilient material, and in that the pincer jaws can be pressed together with the aid of a cam, a screw or the like.
  10. Terminal block according to claim 9, characterised in that the movable pincer jaw is guided laterally and the guide has latching projections facing the pincer jaw which recede upon actuation of the pressure device and fix the pincer jaw in the clamping position.
  11. Terminal block according to claim 1, characterised in that the length of the sharp edge(s) is smaller than the diameter of the insulating jacket (9) of the conductor to be connected.
  12. Terminal block according to claim 11, characterised in that the individual sharp edge is designed as a projecting tooth, of which the length perpendicular to the sharp edge is at least equal to the radial thickness of the insulating sheath (9),
