Definitions
- the invention relates to a method for producing Paper with high smoothness, being from the paper machine upcoming paper web online a super calender (multinip soft calender) is supplied in order to achieve the desired smoothness properties a variety of nips passes through, and a device for performing this procedure.
- a super calender multinip soft calender
- Gloss and smoothness are characteristics of a paper web that are not only their appearance, but also their further workability influence. For certain applications, gloss and / or Smoothness values are desired that are reproducible as evenly as possible should be.
- the gloss and smoothness of the paper web are common thereby increased that the paper web following the Drying section of the paper machine consisting of a smoothing unit passes through one or more nips, the gloss and / or the smoothness of the paper web by the pressure in the Nip and the temperature of the nip forming the nip Rolling is increased.
- Supercalenders have a large number on top of each other arranged rollers and nips provided between them that are traversed by the paper web. Through the Many nips result in a high degree of coverage and a good distribution of the satin work between print and Temperature.
- Super calenders are usually provided offline, i.e. the one coming from the paper machine Paper web first wound up on a spool and with this is transferred to the super calender, which she then with at a significantly lower speed than the paper machine speed passes.
- the offline installation has the advantage that the paper web is in the Supercalender can still compensate, so that in the supercalender not with the conditions influenced by many factors must be worked from the paper machine.
- machine or soft calenders can be connected online to a paper machine and therefore be run through at paper machine speed.
- Machine calenders however, have only a few nips, see above that worked with higher pressure and temperature and the Paper web is stressed accordingly.
- the disadvantage of the soft calender is that not all types of paper in high quality can be refined.
- SC-A paper it is not possible with a high-density online soft calender Manufacture SC-A paper. It is more recent managed to improve the printability properties of a Nips of super calendered gravure paper too to achieve with only 4 nips of a soft calender, yes are relatively high roller temperatures and compressive stresses required in the nips.
- DE 35 45 123 A1 describes a method and an apparatus for Calendering a paper web in a calender with multiple nips. By heating and moistening the paper web before reaching the Nip becomes a temperature and humidity gradient in the paper web achieved, which is used for calendering.
- the object of the invention is the online production of paper with high smoothness to enable.
- the moistening of paper webs with the help of nozzle moist is basically known.
- a suitable spray head is, for example, from DE 38 19 762 C2 known. Because when spraying but individual drops the paper web are applied, there is inevitably an uneven Moisten the paper web. Such humidification has so far only been used used in the offline treatment of paper webs, so that the Moisture has sufficient time to spread evenly over the paper web to distribute. So far, online humidification has been achieved using steam blow boxes carried out, which occurs with the spray mist by definition Drop formation should be prevented.
- the choice of an appropriate distance between the spray mist and the first nip of the under the present application also referred to as a multinip soft calender Supercalender also for online installation and at paper machine speed conveyed paper web an evenly moistened Paper web is accessible. It was found that a period of time from 0.6 to 1.2 s, preferably 0.8 to 1 s is sufficient to maintain a uniformly moistened Get paper web.
- the location of the humidifier depends essentially on the speed of the paper machine. At a The usual paper machine speed of up to 1,400 m / min results with a desired exposure time of 0.7 s, a spatial distance of Moistening device from the first roller gap of approx. 16 m. This is in Paper machines with corresponding deflections of the paper web without further realizable.
- the moisture content of the paper web is therefore determined by the Spray humidification increased by approx. 5 to 7%. Starting from one average humidity of 2 to 4% after leaving the paper machine demonstrates the paper web humidification thus a moisture of about 7 to 11%. The increased moisture content makes it easier to deform the paper web on the first nip of the supercalender.
- the droplet size is reduced by that the spray is sprayed with air.
- the moisture of the Paper web in front of and / or behind the humidifier determined and that the humidification depending on the determined Humidity actual values and predetermined setpoints is regulated.
- the gloss and / or the Smoothness of the paper web measured and any gloss and / or Differences in smoothness determined over the width of the paper web.
- the individual spray heads of the nozzle humidifier can be used individually can be controlled so that the fog application in the transverse direction the paper web on the determined gloss and / or Differences in smoothness can be adjusted.
- top and bottom of the paper web moistened so that the one to be applied to the single page
- the amount of moisture can be reduced accordingly.
- the Paper web is passed through the first nip before passing through the Steam exposure resulted in increased surface moisture under one predetermined value has dropped in the range of 12% to 25%. hereby is, as already described above, the influence of the paper web the nip essentially on the surface areas of the paper web limited and a gentler treatment of the paper web in Supercalender enables. Steaming can also cause problems with flatness be compensated so that the paper web is properly flat enters the supercalender.
- An extraction system is provided on the nozzle moistener, with which the mist in the Can be kept aggregate and an even distance of the paper web to the nozzles can be guaranteed.
- the Suction creates a vacuum that compensates for the fact that the The paper web is pushed away from the nozzle moistener by the spray moistening becomes.
- the humidification device has at least one of each Nozzle dampener assigned to the top and bottom of the paper web.
- the nozzles for moistening the top of the paper web is arranged horizontally because one is facing down Spraying could lead to drop problems.
- a plurality of spray heads are preferably arranged side by side in the nozzle moistener arranged, which according to the invention can be controlled individually or in groups are. This makes it possible to detect differences in gloss and / or smoothness in the transverse direction of the paper web by appropriate control of the Compensate spray strength of individual spray nozzles.
- a steam delivery device is provided so that the steam through the steam caused increase in temperature and humidity of the paper web is not yet balanced when the paper web passes through the nip.
- the moistening device in front and / or behind the moistening device is provided with a measuring frame with which the Moisture of the paper web is detected, the measured values determined for Control of the humidification device and / or the steam delivery device be used.
- a device 1 for online production of paper with high smoothness, in particular SC-A paper, on the one hand has a paper machine from which only the last section of the dryer section 2 is indicated in the drawing is.
- the detailed design of the paper machine does not play a role in the invention Role.
- the paper web 3 passes through a Humidification device 7, each a nozzle moistener 8, 9 for the top and Has underside 3a, 3b of paper web 3.
- the structure of the nozzle dampers 8, 9 will be described later. It should only be noted here that the top 3a of the paper web 3 assigned nozzle moistener 9 is arranged so that the spraying of moisture on the paper web 3 takes place essentially horizontally.
- a supercalender 11 which consists of a multiplicity of nips 12 1 - 12 9 , through which the paper web 3 passes in succession.
- a super calender is a multi-nip soft calender.
- Each nip 12 is formed by a polymer roller 13 and a steel roller 14 which is heated to at least 125 ° C, preferably up to 150 ° C.
- deflection rollers 15 are provided in order to guide the paper web 3 through the corresponding nips 12.
- a steam delivery device 16 is provided, which in particular can consist of a steam blow box, as described in DE 43 01 023 C2.
- steam delivery devices 16, 16 ' are provided on the top and bottom 3a, b of the paper web 3.
- a suction 17 is assigned to the steam delivery device 16, 16 ', through which supersaturated air is extracted.
- further steam delivery devices 18 are provided in front of further nips 12 2 , 12 7 , via which the paper web 3 is rewetted in order to partially compensate for the loss of moisture in the nips 12.
- a measuring frame 19 Following the super calender 11 is a measuring frame 19 provided the gloss and / or smoothness of the paper web 3rd determined.
- Fig. 2 is a nozzle moistener 8, 9, with which the moistening the paper web 3 takes place in the moistening device 7, shown in more detail.
- the nozzle moistener 8, 9 has a housing 20, on the of which Paper side facing a plurality side by side arranged spray heads 21, such as from the DE 38 19 762 C2 are known, is arranged.
- the spray heads 21 can be controlled individually or in groups such that the Spray strength can be varied.
- On the housing 20 is a drip pan 22 is also provided, in which condenses Can collect liquid.
- the drip tray 22 is closed Assembly and maintenance purposes can be pivoted about a joint 23, so that the interior of the housing 20 and the spray heads 21st are accessible.
- On the housing 20 is in the range Drip pan 22 is also provided with a suction device 24 via which the mist is held in the unit and the paper web is open brought a uniform distance to the spray heads 21 can be.
- the adjustable sealing strips 26th can have. Pressure compensation is achieved via perforated plates 27 reached in the spray area and the return of possibly condensing moisture in the drip pan 22 allows.
- a so-called double-stack supercalender can be used, in which two groups of nips are arranged one behind the other, which are successively traversed by the paper web. This reduces the height of the calender. in the the rest of the device 1 remains unchanged.
- the method can be used with a double-stack supercalender perform in the same manner as that in FIG. 1 illustrated calender.
- the paper web 3 emerging from the dryer section 2 of the paper machine in the usual way has a moisture content of about 2 to 4% (weight percent), which is checked via the measuring frame 6.
- the surface tension of the water used for the spray mist is reduced by heating and / or the addition of surfactants or the like.
- the moistening device 7 the moisture of the web in the measuring frame 10 is checked again, the paper web 3 here having a moisture content of about 7 to 11%.
- the moistening device 7 is approximately 0.6 to 1.2, preferably 0.8 to 1 s before the first nip 12 1 of the supercalender 11 arranged.
- the moistening device 7 is arranged only 0.4 to 0.6 s before the first nip 12 1 .
- the localization of the moistening device 7 thus depends on the paper machine speed. With a paper machine speed of about 1,400 m / min and a desired time interval of 0.7 s between moistening and the first nip, this results in a distance of about 16.3 m. When the paper machine speed changes, the moistening device 7 must be shifted accordingly.
- the steam delivery device 16, 16 ' hot, droplet-free steam is now applied to the paper web surface immediately before the first nip 12 1 of the supercalender 11, the steam temperature in the steam blowing chamber of the steam delivery device 16, 16' being approximately in the range from 102 ° C. to 110 ° C is to prevent vapor condensation.
- the steam delivery device 16, 16 ′ is brought as close as possible to the nip 12 1 , the distance in turn being adjustable depending on the speed at which the paper web 3 passes through the nip 12.
- the steam condenses, drastically increasing the temperature on the surface of the paper web 3.
- the surface will be approximately 90 ° C. hot after the condensation of the steam.
- the condensed steam forms a moisture film, the strength of which is, for example, in the range of a thousandth of a millimeter.
- the condensation results in an almost sudden increase in temperature of the surface of the paper web 3, but this compensates for itself within a very short time via the thickness of the paper web 3, so that the paper web 3 has a uniform temperature distribution within fractions of a second.
- the top layer (with SC-A paper with a fabric weight of approx. 50 g / m 2, about a third of the paper web) has a significantly higher relative humidity than the central region of the paper web 3. The further the moisture penetrates into the interior of the paper web 3, the more the relative humidity decreases.
- the paper web 3 Before the moisture in the surface (upper third or, in the case of vapor deposition, the lower third) of the paper web 3 has dropped below a predetermined value in the range from 12% to 25%, in particular from 16 to 25%, the paper web 3 passes through the first nip 12 1 of the supercalender 11. Also the temperature of the paper web 3 is not yet balanced at this time, rather the temperature increase in the middle third of the paper web caused by the steam application should not yet have reached 1 / e times the temperature increase of the surface of the paper web.
- the paper web 3 is treated by smoothing the surface of the paper web 3, which still has the increased temperature and humidity, or is provided with an increased gloss.
- the areas of the paper web 3 lying further inward are not significantly changed by the nip 12 1 .
- the paper web 3 passes through the further nips 12 2 to 12 9 of the supercalender 11, the paper web 3 being moistened before the individual nips by the steam delivery devices 18 in order to improve the increase in gloss and smoothness.
- the humidification is carried out by the Humidifier 7 and the steam output by the Steam delivery devices 16, 16 'controlled.
- the supercalender 11 becomes a paper web 3 supplied with high initial moisture, which in connection with the gentle treatment of the paper web with high humidity and temperature in the surface areas of online production of paper with excellent smoothness values allows.
