Description

The invention relates to an improved electric lock for an opening of a motor vehicle, in particular for a door, a tailgate or motor vehicle tailgate window.

We already know an electric lock of this type by European patent application No. 812,972, a schematic overview of which is shown in Figure 14 attached. In this Figure 14, there is designated by the reference 25 the lock housing as a whole. The lock has inside the housing 25 an electric motor 9, on the shaft of which is fixed a pinion 9 a , which meshes with a gear 9 b of a gear train 26, including the output pinion 9 c cooperates with a toothed wheel 27, which constitutes the rotary element controlling the operation of the lock. The rotary element 27 is a disc which carries two diametrically opposed crank pins 28, 29, these crank pins facing a driver 32. The end of the driver 32, which cooperates with the crank pins 28 and 29, has the form a boot, the sole part of which has been designated by 32 a and the heel part by 32 b ; between these two parts, there is an obviously 34 substantially V-shaped; the end of the driver 32, which is opposite to the parts 32 a , 32 b , is connected to a pivot axis 37, the driver 32 being capable of pivoting movement around said axis 37. The lock comprises a fork latch 30, the fork of which delimits a housing 38, which is intended to receive a keeper 4 which cooperates with the lock. In a known manner, the keeper 4 is a stud which protrudes from the door jamb opposite the lock, the relative movement of the door with respect to the door jamb, in the direction of closing the door , corresponding to a relative movement of the keeper according to arrow F1 and, in the direction of the opening of the door, to a relative movement of the keeper 4 in the direction of arrow F2. The bolt 30 is capable of pivoting about an axis 39 and it cooperates with a pawl 31, which is capable of pivoting around the axis 37 and is integral in rotation with the driver 32. The pawl 31 is subjected to a elastic return force, which pushes it towards the bolt 30.

In the door closed position shown in Figure 14, the pawl 31 comes to bear by its end nozzle 31a against a notch 36 defined by the bolt 30. In this way, the striker 4 is trapped in the recess 38, which keeps the door closed.

If we feed the motor 9, the rotary member 27 is rotated and the crank pin 29 engages in the recess 34 in V of the driver 32, due to the rest position that had said driver when closing the lock. When this rotation continues, the pin 29 comes into contact with the heel portion 32 b of the free end of the coach 32 and therefore further rotation of the disc 27 causes a pivoting of the driver 32 around the axis 37. As the pawl 31 and the driver 32 are integral in rotation, the pawl 31 pivots clockwise until the spout 31 has escaped from the pawl 31 of the catch 36 of the bolt 30.

On a indiqué en 25a l'avaloir du boítier de serrure 25, à travers lequel se déplace la gâche 4.In normal service, as soon as the bolt 30 is no longer retained by the pawl 31, the bolt 30 pivots to release the keeper 4 which moves in the direction of arrow F2. The pivoting of the bolt 30 is caused by the reaction force of the elastic seal which is interposed between the door and the door jamb of the vehicle. It has been indicated at 25 a downstream of the lock box 25, through which the keeper 4 moves.

However, if the reaction force of the door seal is canceled for one reason or another, the keeper 4 no longer exerts a tensile force on the bolt 30, so that the latter remains in the position illustrated on the Figure 14. in this case, when the rotation of the disc 27 continues, the heel portion 32 b of the driver 32 escapes to the crank pin 29, which causes the return of the driver 32 and therefore the pawl 31 into its initial position 'origin, in which the spout 31 has engages on the notch 36 of the bolt 30. Therefore, a subsequent rotation of the disc 27 causes the opposite pin 28 to come to engage in turn in the recess 34, this which again causes the driver 32 to pivot, and thus until the motor 9 ceases to rotate.

This scenario can occur in particular on a tailgate of the trunk of the vehicle, when a heavy layer of snow has deposited on the tailgate, the weight of the layer of snow compensating for the effort of tailgate seal reaction.

In this case, the alternating pivoting of the coach 32, as long as the electric motor 29 drives the disc 27, causes a click repetitive of the ratchet 31 against the bolt 30, each time a crankpin escapes the coach. This causes a "machine gun" sound effect which is very uncomfortable for the user. Furthermore, as the bolt 30 does not move, when the motor 9 stops driving in rotation, the pawl 31 will be returned to its initial position, so that the opening will remain in the closed position.

The object of the invention is to propose an electric lock of the type mentioned above, which eliminates the noise nuisance due to possible alternative pivoting of the coach and which allows a opening the lock, even when the door seal does not generate an effort to react the strike on the bolt.

To this end, the subject of the invention is an electric lock for a door leaf of a motor vehicle, said lock comprising:
  • a fork-shaped pivoting bolt intended to cooperate with a keeper secured to the vehicle body,
  • a pawl pivoting on a fixed axis and subjected to an elastic return which urges it towards the bolt, said pawl being able to cooperate with at least one notch of the bolt to prevent a rotation of said bolt and thus retain captive the keeper in the fork of the bolt when the opening is in the closed position, said pawl being able to move away from the bolt to allow rotation of the bolt releasing the keeper when the opening is brought into the open position,
  • a driver integral with the pawl, pivoting about the same fixed axis, and comprising a substantially V-shaped recess,
  • an electric motor intended to drive a rotary element carrying at least one crank pin, said crank pin being able to penetrate into said V-shaped recess to generate a pivoting of the driver and therefore of the pawl, in a direction opposite to the elastic return, the element rotary continuing its rotation at least until the coach escapes the action of the crankpin and being associated with an engine stop means which stops the rotation of the engine after the coach has escaped the action of the pin,
  • a blocking means for blocking the pawl in its separated position allowing the rotation of the bolt, said blocking means being able to take a first active position for blocking the pawl substantially at the end of pivoting of the pawl towards its separated position, and to remain this active locking position at least until the bolt pivots in order to release the keeper, said locking means being capable of taking a second position for unlocking the pawl, preferably at the latest at the end of the rotation stroke of the bolt towards its open position of the lock, characterized in that the locking means comprises a movable hooking member with elastic return and a conjugate retaining projection carried one by the coach and the other by the bolt, said hooking member being able to move against its elastic return to cross then hang downstream on said retaining projection at the end of pivoting of the c liquet, the pawl thus being locked in the separated position by the bolt via said latching member, until the bolt begins to pivot towards its opening position of the lock, the pivoting of the bolt causing disengagement of the attachment member of the retaining projection.

Advantageously, the crankpin of the rotary element and the recess in V of the coach are arranged in relation to each other so that when the crank pin enters the recess it generates the pivoting of the coach on an opening stroke which brings the pawl to move away from the latch until the pawl escapes the notch of the bolt, then the crankpin turns the coach on an overtravel before to escape the V-shaped recess, said overtravel making it possible to generate a clearance between the bolt and the ratchet, which clearance is maintained by the means above blocking until it leaves its active position blocking. Thus, an important feature of the invention is the amplification of the play between the bolt and the ratchet, thanks to the overtravel of the coach.

In this case, provision can be made for the blocking means to take its second position to unlock the pawl as soon as the bolt turns view of the release of the keeper, the pawl swivels from a distance corresponding to the above-mentioned clearance when passing from the first position active at said second position. So when the bolt turns back to its lock closing position, the means of locking will no longer lock the pawl, which will avoid leaving the pawl in the spread position and will thus allow the ratchet to engage on the notch of the bolt to keep the door in the closed position.

According to another characteristic of the invention, when the means blocking is in its second ratchet unlocking position, the attachment member is located upstream of the retaining projection, so that when the bolt is returned to the closed position, the projection of restraint pushes the latching member towards its rest position, in the direction of the elastic return force of the pawl, which contributes to return the pawl to the rest position, to close the lock.

In an alternative embodiment, the attachment member is a elastically deformable tab. Preferably, the leg elastically deformable is in the form of a curved U-shaped pin, one end of which is integral with the coach and the other free end of which is capable of hook onto the retaining projection which is formed on the bolt.

In another variant, the attachment member is a pin retractable mobile subjected to the elastic force of a return spring. Preferably, the movable pin is mounted linearly retractable on the bolt, the free end of the pin being able to hang on said retaining projection which is formed on the coach.

According to yet another characteristic, the retaining projection is extends upstream by a guide ramp against which supports the latching member when pivoting the front pawl reach the active blocking position, which facilitates crossing of the retaining projection by the fastening member, said guide ramp being inclined so as to generate on the pawl a force tending to rotate the pawl in the direction of the restoring force elastic, when the bolt returns to its closed position of the lock.

In another variant, the movable part is a lug elastically deformable secured at one point of the lock housing and functionally replacing the rocking lever and its spring recall mentioned above.

In a manner known per se, the coach is a lever having, seen in plan, the shape of a boot, the aforementioned recess corresponding to the hollow that exists between the sole part and the heel part of the boot, the pivot articulation of said lever being effected at its end opposite to that which carries the parts of the boot.

In the first variant of the first embodiment aforementioned, the elastically deformable tab is secured to the coach substantially at the tip of the sole portion of the boot.

In the second variant of the first embodiment, the retaining projection is formed on the boot, on the face opposite to the sole.

In a manner also known per se, the rotary element is driven by a motor with only one direction of rotation and carries two crank pins symmetrical about its axis, the stop means of the motor being constituted, firstly, by the mechanical abutment against the sole part of the coach, of the crankpin which has not not, during the opening of the lock just made, caused the pivoting of the coach and, secondly, by a cut of the power supply to the motor, which only intervenes after the stop mechanical of the crankpin against the coach.

In this case, in the open position of the lock, the pawl leans against an edge of the bolt and, when the lock comes in closed position, the pawl cooperating with a notch of the bolt under the action of its elastic return, the trainer and the pawl rotate from a sufficient angle so that the crank pin which was at the right of the part sole of the coach is located at the right of the recess.

Other characteristics, which are known per se from European patent application No. 812 972, can also be combined with the present invention, namely the fact that
  • in the closed position of the lock, an edge of the coach bears against the edge of the bolt,
  • the shape of the sole part of the trainer and of its connection to the zone, where the pivot axis of said trainer is located, gives said sole part an elasticity generating a slight rebound of the crank pin which comes to bear on said part, the heel part of the coach being, at the time of said pressing, in line with the other crankpin to limit rebound,
  • the power supply to the motor is due to a time delay.

To better understand the object of the invention, we will describe now, by way of purely illustrative examples and not limiting, several embodiments shown in the drawing Annex.

In Figures 1 to 6, there is shown a first mode of realization of the lock of the invention in the different positions corresponding to the different kinematic phases of the opening and closing the lock. The elements of this first mode of realization, which are identical or analogous to the elements of the lock known illustrated in FIG. 14, bear the same figures of reference increased by a hundred.

In this first embodiment, the boot-shaped trainer 132 present at the tip of its sole portion 132 has a curved hooking tab substantially as a pin 140, the free end 140 a of which faces the curved edge 132 c of the rod of the boot of the trainer 132. This tab 140 comes from molding with the boot 132 and is elastically deformable, as explained below.

La portion saillante 141 se prolonge par une rampe de guidage 142 contre laquelle vient en appui l'extrémité 140a de la patte 140.The fork bolt 130 has on one of the branches of its fork a convex edge 135, which is intended to come into abutment against the corresponding concave edge 132 c of the coach 132, in the rest position illustrated in FIG. 1 , which corresponds to the closed position of the lock. The convex edge 135 of the bolt 130 has at its end opposite to the recess 138 a projecting retaining portion 141, which is intended to cooperate with the free end 140 a of the elastic hooking tab 140, as explained below. The projecting portion 141 is extended by a guide ramp 142 against which abuts the end 140 a of the tab 140.

Le cliquet 131 est solidaire en rotation de l'entraíneur 132, autour de l'axe 137, par exemple grâce à une goupille de liaison 144.A compression spring 143 is provided between the housing of lock 125 and the coach 132, to urge the latter towards the bolt 130. The pawl 131 is integral in rotation with the coach 132, around axis 137, for example by means of a connecting pin 144.

On va maintenant décrire le fonctionnement de ce premier mode de réalisation de la serrure de l'invention, en référence aux figures 1 à 6.We will now describe the functioning of this first mode for producing the lock of the invention, with reference to FIGS. 1 to 6.

From the closed position of the lock illustrated in Figure 1, if one feeds the motor 9 of Figure 14, the rotary member 27 is rotated and the crank pin 29 engages in the recess 134 in V of the trainer 132 and comes into contact with the heel part 132 b of the free end of the trainer 132, which causes the trainer 132 to pivot about the axis 137, in the direction of the arrow F3 in Figure 2. During the pivoting of the coach 132 in the direction of arrow F3, the free end 140 a of the elastic tab 140 slides along the ramp 142 of the bolt 130 which is held stationary by the pawl 131 and the elastic tab deforms by slightly closing the opening of the U. FIG. 2 represents an unstable intermediate position, in which the spout 131 has a pawl 131 is about to escape the notch 136 of the bolt 130, and l free end 140 a of lug 140 is about to cross the sa retainer 141 of the bolt 130.

When the rotation of the coach 132 continues in the direction of the arrow F3, the spout 131 a of the pawl 131 deviates from a clearance d of the notch 136 of the bolt 130, and the free end 140 a of the lug 140 is hooked onto the projection 141 of the bolt 130. FIG. 3 represents the end of pivoting position of the driver 132 in the direction of the arrow F3, because in this position the crank pin 29 has escaped from the recess 134 in V of the coach 132. Assuming that no reaction force is exerted on the bolt 130 by the keeper 4, the bolt 130 remains in the position illustrated in FIG. 3, but the pawl 131 remains in its spread position, despite the elastic return force of the spring 143, by hooking the free end 140 a of the lug 140 on the retaining projection 141 of the bolt 130.

If the disc 27 continues to rotate, the opposite pin 28 will come in abutment against the sole portion 132a of the coach 132, which will thus avoid "machine gun" noise and return to the closed position of the pawl 131. The motor 9 will thus be blocked, despite the fact that its power supply is maintained until the end of a delay.

In the case where a reaction force is exerted on the bolt 130 by the keeper 4, either due to the compression force of the door seal, or due to an opening force exerted by the user on the door, the bolt 130 will pivot in the direction of arrow F2 in FIG. 4, to release the keeper 4. The rotation of the bolt 130 about its axis 139 has the effect of unhooking the elastic tab 140 from the retaining projection 141, which unlocks the coach 132 relative to the bolt 130. As the coach 132 is released, it pivots in the direction of the arrow F4, opposite to the arrow F3, under the action of the spring 143, over a distance corresponding to the game d above, because the pawl 131 is held against the bolt 130 by pressing its spout 131 has against the edge 135, and this, throughout the rotation stroke of the bolt 130 to its position of opening the lock.

When the door comes back to the closed position, from the position of FIG. 4, the bolt 130 moves in the direction of the arrow F1, opposite to the arrow F2, as illustrated in FIG. 5. In the position intermediate illustrated in FIG. 5, it can be seen that the free end 140 a of the hooking lug 140 is now located on the other side of the retaining projection 141, that is to say upstream, because between the positions illustrated in FIGS. 3 and 5, the coach 132 has moved a distance corresponding to the clearance d .

Thus, when the bolt 130 ends its rotation towards the closed position, between FIGS. 5 and 6, it comes to elastically deform the tab 140, and as soon as the notch 136 of the bolt 130 comes beyond the spout 131 a of the pawl 131 , the pawl 131 pivots under the effect of the return spring 143 in the position illustrated in FIG. 1, which brings the various members of the lock back to their initial rest position.

At the elastic restoring force exerted by the spring 143 on the coach 132, between the positions of FIGS. 6 and 1, is added the elastic return exerted by the lug 140 which was previously deformed by the bolt 130.

We will now refer to Figures 7 to 12 which represent an alternative embodiment of the lock of the invention, the different bodies have the same reference numbers as the organs of the first embodiment, increased by a hundred.

In the variant embodiment illustrated in FIGS. 7 to 12, the ratchet is in one piece with the coach 232, which removes the rotational connecting pin 144 of the first embodiment.

A compression spring 246 is mounted in the housing 245 and bears at one end against the bottom of this housing and at its opposite end against the aforementioned flange 240 a to urge the pin 240 projecting from the outside contour of the bolt 230. The pin mobile 240 opens onto the face of the bolt 230 which is opposite the housing 238, relative to the curved edge 235, opposite the sole portion 232 a of the boot 232.

The movable pin 240 is intended to come into abutment against a ramp guide 242 formed on the surface of the boot 232 opposite the sole, which guide rail 242 is extended by a projection of retainer 241 which is intended to cooperate with the movable pin 240, as explained below.

From the closed position of the lock illustrated on the Figure 7, when the motor 9 causes the driver to pivot 232 in the direction of arrow F3, as illustrated in FIG. 8, the movable pin 240 slides along the ramp 242 of the boot 232, which causes a slight retraction of the movable pin 240 inside of its housing 245. Then, at the end of pivoting of the coach 232, as illustrated in FIG. 9, the movable pin 240 crosses the portion projection 241 of boot 232, which causes the movable pin to relax 240, which thus blocks the boot 232 against any subsequent rotation in a direction opposite to arrow F3. It is thus understood that the movable pin 240 with its compression spring 246 corresponds functionally on the elastically deformable leg 140 of the first embodiment. Under these conditions, the variant illustrated on the Figures 7 to 12 will not be described in more detail.

Although this is not shown, it will be easily understood which could also be provided instead of the tab elastically deformable 140 of the first embodiment illustrated in Figures 1 at 6, a mobile counter similar to counter 240 in Figure 7, on the boot-shaped trainer, without departing from the scope of the invention.

Although the invention has been described in conjunction with several particular embodiments, it is obvious that it is not there in no way limited and that it includes all technical equivalents means described as well as their combinations, if these enter in the context of the invention.

Claims (14)

  1. Electric lock for an opening part of a motor vehicle, said lock comprising:
a pivoting bolt in the form of a fork (130, 230, 330) intended to cooperate with a keeper (4) fixed to the vehicle body,
a catch (131, 231a, 331a) pivoting on a fixed pin (137, 237, 337) and subjected to an elastic return (143, 243, 343) which forces it towards the bolt, the said catch being able to cooperate with at least one notch (136, 236, 336) on the bolt in order to prevent rotation of the said bolt and thus to keep the keeper captive in the bolt fork when the opening part is in the closed position, the said catch being able to move away from the bolt to allow rotation of the bolt releasing the keeper when the opening part is brought into the open position,
a driver (132, 232, 332) fixed to the catch, pivoting about the same fixed pin and comprising a substantially V-shaped recess (134, 234, 334),
an electric motor (9) intended to drive a rotary element (27) carrying at least one crank pin (28, 29), the said crank pin being able to enter the said V-shaped recess in order to cause a pivoting of the driver and therefore of the catch, in an opposite direction to the elastic return, the rotary element continuing its rotation at least until the driver escapes from the action of the crank pin and being associated with a stop means of the motor which stops the rotation of the motor after the driver has escaped from the action of the crank pin,
a locking means (140, 141; 240, 241; 340, 341) for locking the catch in its separated position allowing the rotation of the bolt, the said locking means being able to adopt a first active state of locking the catch substantially at the end of pivoting of the catch towards its separated position, and to remain in this first active locking state at least until the bolt pivots with a view to releasing the keeper, the said locking means being able to adopt a second state of releasing the catch, during the rotation travel of the bolt towards its lock open position, characterised by the fact that the locking means comprises a movable attachment member (140, 240, 340) with elastic return and a conjugate retaining projection (141, 241, 341) carried one by the driver (132, 232, 332) and the other by the bolt (130, 230, 330), the said attachment member being able to move counter to its elastic return in order to pass over and then to hook downstream onto the said retaining projection at the end of pivoting of the catch, the catch thus being locked in the separated position by the bolt by means of the said attachment member, until the bolt commences to pivot towards its lock open position, the pivoting of the bolt causing the disengagement of the attachment member from the retaining projection.
  2. Lock according to Claim 1, characterised by the fact that the crank pin (28, 29) of the rotary element (27) and the V-shaped recess (134, 234, 334) of the driver (132, 232, 332) are arranged with respect to each other so that, when the crank pin enters the recess, it causes the pivoting of the driver over an opening travel which causes the catch (131, 231a, 331a) to move away from the bolt (130, 230, 330) until the catch escapes from the notch in the bolt, and then the crank pin causes the driver to pivot over an overtravel before escaping from the V-shaped recess, the said overtravel giving rise to a clearance (d) between the bolt and the catch, which clearance is maintained by the aforementioned locking means at the latest until it leaves its first active locking state.
  3. Lock according to Claim 2, characterised by the fact that the locking means (140, 141; 240, 241; 340, 341) adopts its second state of unlocking the catch (131, 231a, 331a) as soon as the bolt (130, 230, 330) turns with a view to releasing the keeper (4), the catch pivoting through a distance corresponding to the aforementioned clearance (d) when the locking means passes from the said first active locking state to the said second unlocking state.
  4. Lock according to Claim 3, characterised by the fact that, when the locking means is in its second catch (131, 231a, 331a) unlocking state, the attachment member (140, 240, 340) is upstream of the retaining projection (141, 241, 341), so that, when the bolt (130, 230, 240) returns to the closed position, the retaining projection pushes the attachment member towards its idle position, in the direction of the elastic return force of the catch, which helps to return the catch to the idle position, for closure of the lock.
  5. Lock according to one of Claims 1 to 4, characterised by the fact that the attachment member is an elastically deformable lug (140, 340).
  6. Lock according to Claim 5, characterised by the fact that the elastically deformable lug (140) is in the form of a hairpin curved in a U shape, one end of which is fixed to the driver (132) and the other free end of which is able to hook onto the retaining projection (141) which is formed on the bolt (130).
  7. Lock according to one of Claims 1 to 4, characterised by the fact that the attachment member is a retractable moving stud (240) subjected to the elastic force of a return spring (246).
  8. Lock according to Claim 7, characterised by the fact that the moving stud (240) is mounted so as to be linearly retractable on the bolt (230), the free end of the stud being able to hook onto the said retaining projection (241) which is formed on the driver (232).
  9. Lock according to one of Claims 1 to 8, characterised by the fact that the retaining projection (141, 241, 341) is extended upstream by a guidance ramp (142, 242, 342) against which the attachment member (140, 240, 340) bears when the catch (131, 231a, 331a) pivots before reaching the said first active locking state, which facilitates the passing of the retaining projection by the attachment member, the said guidance ramp being inclined so as to generate on the catch a force tending to make the catch pivot in the direction of the elastic return force, when the bolt (130, 230, 330) returns to its lock closed position.
  10. Lock according to one of Claims 1 to 9, characterised by the fact that the driver (132, 232, 332) is a lever having, seen in plan view, the shape of a boot, the aforementioned recess (134, 234, 334) corresponding to the hollow which exists between the sole part (132a, 232a, 332a) and the heel part (132b, 232b, 332b) of the boot, the pivoting articulation of the said lever taking place at its end opposite to that which carries the parts of the boot.
  11. Lock according to Claims 6 and 10 taken in combination, characterised by the fact that the elastically deformable lug (140) is fixed to the driver (132) substantially at the tip of the sole part (132a) of the boot.
  12. Lock according to Claims 8 and 10 taken in combination, characterised by the fact that the retaining projection (241) is formed on the boot (232), on the face opposite to the sole (232a).
  13. Lock according to one of Claims 10 to 12, characterised by the fact that the rotary element (27) is driven by a motor (9) with only one direction of rotation and carries two crank pins (28, 29) symmetrical with respect to its axis, the means of stopping the motor consisting firstly of the putting in mechanical abutment, against the sole part of the driver (132, 232, 332), of the one of the crank pins which has not, during the opening of the lock which has just been effected, caused the pivoting of the driver, and secondly by a cutting of the supply to the motor, which occurs only after the putting in mechanical abutment of the crank pin against the driver.
  14. Lock according to Claim 13, characterised by the fact that the catch (131, 231a, 331a) bears against a rim (135, 235, 335) of the bolt (130, 230, 330) and, when the lock arrives in the closed position, the catch cooperating with a notch (136, 236, 336) on the bolt under the action of its elastic return, the driver (132, 232, 332) and the catch pivot through a sufficient angle for the crank pin which was in line with the sole part of the driver to be situated in line with the recess (134, 234, 334).
