Abstract

Das Verfahren dient dem Herstellen eines Varistors, der einen zylinderförmigen Widerstandskörper (1) aus einem Werkstoff auf der Basis von Metalloxid sowie zwei jeweils auf einer von zwei parallel zueinander ausgerichteten Stirnflächen des zylinderförmigen Widerstandskörpers (1) angeordnete Elektroden (2, 3) aufweist. Dabei wird in einem ersten Verfahrensschritt auf beide Stirnflächen bis an deren als Kante ausgebildeten Aussenrand (9) eine Schicht aus Elektrodenmaterial aufgetragen. In einem zweiten Verfahrensschritt wird ein vom Aussenrand (9) begrenzter und bis auf die Strinfläche des Widerstandkörpers (1) geführter Kreisring (4) mit einer Breite von ca. 10 bis 500 µm aus der Elektrode enffernt oder der Widerstandskörper (1) und Elektrode am Aussenrand abgeschrägt (5').
Das Verfahren ermöglicht eine einfache und wirtschaftliche Fertigung eines Varistors.
