Claims (6)
- Vorrichtung zur Vermeidung einer Überhitzung eines Displaytreiber-Bausteins eines Plasmadisplays, welcher Displaytreiber-Baustein mehrere Displaytreiber-Elemente aufweist, die eine Vielzahl von Zeilen des Plasmadisplays ansteuern und von denen jedes einem von mehreren Bildbereichen des auf dem Display darzustellenden Bildes eineindeutig zugeordnet ist, miteiner Messeinheit (4a, ..., 4f) zur Erzeugung eines Messsignals welches eine Information über die Leistungsaufnahme des Displays enthält,einer ausgangsseitig mit der Messeinheit verbundenen Steuersignalerzeugungseinheit (2) zur Erzeugung eines Steuersignals (ST1, ST2), undeine Schaltung (5, 8), die die Helligkeit der auf dem Display dargestellten Bildsignale reduziert, wenn das Steuersignal von der Steuersignalerzeugungseinheit, die ausgangsseitig mit dieser Schaltung verbunden ist, vorliegt,die Messeinheit mehrere parallel zueinander angeordnete Integratoren (4a, ..., 4f) aufweist, die jeweils einem der oben genannten mehreren Bildbereiche eineindeutig zugeordnet sind, wobei der Integrator die Hell- und Dunkelwerte der Bilddaten des eineindeutig zugeordneten Bildbereichs integriert, daraus einen Signalwert ermittelt und diesen Signalwert als Messsignal an die Steuersignalerzeugungseinheit (2) übermittelt, mit der die Integratoren (4a, ..., 4f) jeweils ausgangsseitig verbunden sind,die Steuersignalerzeugungseinheit (2) das die Helligkeit der auf dem Display dargestellten Signale reduzierende Steuersignal (ST1, ST2) dann erzeugt und an die Schaltung (5, 8) ausgibt, wenn mindestens eines der Messsignale von den mehreren Integratoren (4a. ..., 4f) einen vorgegebenen Schwellenwert übersteigt.
- Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 1,

die Bildsignalverarbeitungsschaltung (7) zur Umwandlung der Zeilenzahl eines PAL-Eingangssignals in eine zur Darstellung des Signals auf einem Plasmadisplay geeignete Zeilenzahl vorgesehen ist. - Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 1,
wobei
die Schaltung zur Reduzierung der Helligkeit der auf dem Display dargestellten Bildsignale in Abhängigkeit vom Steuersignal die Anzahl der in einem oder mehreren Teilzeitintervallen einer Vollbildperiode des Bildsignals erzeugten digitalen Spannungsimpulse reduziert.
