Claims (7)
- Vorrichtung zur Vermeidung einer Überhitzung eines Displaytreiber-Bausteins eines Plasmadisplays, welcher Displaytreiber-Baustein mehrere Displaytreiber-Elemente aufweist, von denen jedes einem Bildbereich des auf dem Display darzustellenden Bildes zugeordnet ist, miteiner Meßeinheit zur Erzeugung eines Meßsignals, welches eine Information über die Leistungsaufnahme des Displays enthält,einer ausgangsseitig mit der Meßeinheit verbundenen Steuersignalerzeugungseinheit zur Erzeugung eines Steuersignals, undeiner vom Steuersignal beaufschlagten Schaltung zur Reduzierung der Helligkeit der auf dem Display dargestellten Bildsignale,
dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß die Steuersignalerzeugungseinheit (2) zur Ermittlung eines bildbereichsweisen Meßsignals des darzustellenden Bildes vorgesehen ist und ein die Helligkeit der auf dem Display dargestellten Signale reduzierendes Steuersignal (ST1, ST2) dann erzeugt, wenn das einem Bildbereich zugehörige Meßsignal einen vorgegebenen Schwellenwert übersteigt. - Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 1,
dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß die Meßeinheit mehrere parallel zueinander angeordnete Integratoren (4a,...,4f) aufweist, die jeweils einem Bildbereich zugeordnet sind, und die jeweils ausgangsseitig mit der Steuersignalerzeugungseinheit (2) verbunden sind. - Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 2,
dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß sie eine Bildspeichermittel aufweisende Bildsignalverarbeitungssschaltung (7) aufweist, die ausgangsseitig mit den Integratoren (4a,...,4f) verbunden ist. - Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 3,
dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß die Bildsignalverarbeitungsschaltung (7) einen Interpolator aufweist. - Vorrichtung nach einem der Ansprüche 3 oder 4,
dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß die Bildsignalverarbeitungsschaltung (7) zur Umwandlung eines beliebigen Eingangssignals in eine zur Darstellung des Signals auf einem geeignete Form vorgesehen ist. - Vorrichtung nach einem der Ansprüche 3 bis 5,
dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß die Bildsignalverarbeitungsschaltung (7) zur Umwandlung der Zeilenzahl eines PAL-Eingangssignals in eine zur Darstellung des Signals auf einem Plasmadisplay geeignete Zeilenzahl vorgesehen ist. - Vorrichtung nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche,
dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß die Schaltung zur Reduzierung der Helligkeit der auf dem Display dargestellten Bildsignale in Abhängigkeit vom Steuersignal die Anzahl der in einem oder mehreren Teilzeitintervallen einer Vollbildperiode des Bildsignals erzeugten digitalen Spannungsimpulse reduziert.
