Abstract

When grip is mounted in socket unit, the entering cable (23) can be clamped in one of three positions as desired. At least two clamping plates (28A,28B) stretching in different directions, comprising central clamping plate and clamping shoulder plate, having at least one fixing clamp screw (30).

Description

The present invention relates generally to devices their users must equip themselves with a cable electric for their implementation.

Even if they can also be used at a fixed station, it is, most often, in practice, mobile electrical devices, such as, for example, multiple sockets.

The standards in force in the matter require that the housing of these electrical appliances is equipped with a stop device, commonly called cable clamp, which, for obvious safety reasons, must be able to to ensure energetic restraint of the electric cable, if, by chance or involuntary, it comes to be the object of a traction and / or a twist likely to cause it to be torn off.

Such a cable clamp usually includes a simple bar suitable for tightening of the electric cable.

The standards impose that this tightening interests the sheath in insulating material which the electrical cable usually comprises, as is the case flexible electrical cables.

As a corollary, they require that a certain number be satisfied other requirements, including the following: how to achieve protection of the electric cable with regard to traction and twisting should be easy to recognize, the cable clamp, or at least one of its constituents, and it is the more often of a plate or a sole buttressing the electric cable when tightened by the bar, must be incorporated, or permanently attached, to one of the constituent parts of the electrical appliance concerned, or, more specifically, to one of the constituent parts of the housing thereof; the cable clamp must be adaptable to different types of electric cables likely to be implemented and its effectiveness should not depend on the assembly of the constituent parts of the housing of the electrical appliance; the cable clamp must be made of insulating material or include insulating protection for those of its constituents which are made of metal; and these, including any tightening screws, must be isolated from the earth circuit corresponding.

It also happens that, to facilitate the use of the device electric concerned, it is desirable that the output of its electric cable can, as desired, be done according to one or the other of several orientations different.

For example, in the European patent application No. 0 681 348, which concerns a connector, it is expected that this output will do it axially or laterally.

To do this, a unique piece is used, which includes laterally knockouts, one of which must be removed for exit side of the electrical cable, and which therefore does not constitute a cable clamp to the extent, on the one hand, that it does not meet at least some of the requirements recalled above, and where, on the other hand, it participates on the contrary in the constitution of the connector housing concerned.

When, being a real cable tie, it is envisaged to be able to have several possible orientations for the electric cable, we can think, to also have to implement only one piece, to take the usual bar in this area, and provide several possible locations in the housing of the electrical appliance, according to orientations to be satisfied for the electric cable.

This provision leads to an expensive multiplication of points fixing to be provided for the bar.

Furthermore, it does not allow one of the requirements recalled above.

Indeed, if the electrical appliance is delivered with the sound module cable clamp mounted in a well determined position, and if the user would like the electrical cable to exit in an orientation that does not correspond to this position, it is not necessarily obvious, for him, that he must remove this bar and reassemble it in the position corresponding to the orientation he chose for the electric cable.

There is therefore the risk, in this case, that the cable clamp is not actually implemented, at the expense of security.

The present invention generally relates to a provision allowing on the contrary to have several orientations possible for the electric cable while respecting all the requirements satisfy with regard to cable ties.

More specifically, it firstly relates to a cable clamp, which is intended to equip the housing with any electrical device, and which is of the type comprising a bar suitable for tightening the electric cable to connect to this electrical appliance, this cable clamp being generally characterized in that, to impose, on demand, on the electric cable concerned, one or the other of at least two different orientations, it comprises, in one piece, at least two bars whose directions themselves are different, namely, a bar called here by simple convenience central bar and at least one bar called here by simple convenience side bar, with, for its attachment to the housing of the device electric, at least one fireplace; its object is still any apparatus electric box whose housing is equipped with such a cable clamp for maintaining the electric cable which is to be connected to it.

In short, the cable clamp according to the invention comprising, by itself, but advantageously in the form of a single piece, a bar for each of the possible orientations for the electric cable, it is mandatory to remove it for the installation of this electric cable, and there is only one way to then put it back in place, which, for the benefit of security, ensures with certainty that, whatever the orientation retained for the electric cable, it will be effectively implemented.

In addition, by the very fact that the bars thus present participate in the constitution of a single piece, the number of fixing points to provide for the whole is advantageously minimized.

In practice, the number of these attachment points can advantageously be reduced to two, to the benefit of both the price of the package and safety.

Finally, whatever the orientation chosen for the electric cable, the curvature to be imposed on it advantageously relates only to its sole conductors, not its sheath.

The corresponding radius of curvature can thus advantageously be reduced, for the benefit of a reduction in the overall dimensions of the plan.

Preferably, to reduce, as a corollary, the bulk in height of the assembly, it is provided, according to the invention, that, while ensuring the tightening to be satisfied, the single piece forming, according to the invention, all of the strips comes into contact with the wall of the housing on which it is reported when the electrical cable to be clamped is an electrical cable of minimum diameter.

Preferably, finally, to also minimize the congestion due to the cable clamp within the housing of the electrical appliance, it is provided, according to a development of the invention, that when the cable clamp comprises a central bar and two side bars, the side bars diverge one with respect to the other from the central bar, so that, in the possibility of the presence of a connection terminal block for the cable electric, this connection terminal can more easily find its place between its side branches if desired.

In short, the arrangement according to the invention advantageously allows the realization of a particularly interesting cable clamp from the point of view economical as well as security, minimization space and ease of use.

These figures illustrate, by way of example, the application of the invention to case where the electrical appliance 10 concerned is a multi-socket base.

This electrical appliance 10 therefore comprises, on the front of a housing 11, and, more specifically, on the upper face 12 of this housing 11, a plurality of well 13 at the bottom of each of which there is a socket outlet 14.

In the embodiment shown, the housing 11 is generally parallelepiped, and it is formed, on the one hand, by a base 15, which forms by itself its bottom wall 16, and which carries most of the mechanisms necessary, and, on the other hand, a cover 18, which forms its upper face 12, with the wells 13, and which is duly attached, removably, on the base 15.

In the embodiment shown, the cover 18 extends over all the height of the housing 11, and, as a corollary, the base 15 is reduced to the essentials at the bottom wall 16.

The cover 18 therefore comprises, in addition to the upper face 12, two faces longitudinal 19, and, alternately with these, two transverse faces 20.

In the embodiment shown, the cover 18 fits on the base 15, and to do this, it has, at its periphery, a flange 22.

The interlocking, disengageable, of the cover 18 on the base 15 can by example be done by snap-fastening and / or by screwing.

The corresponding provisions not covered by this invention, they will not be described here.

In practice, the electrical device 10 thus concerned is mobile, but it can just as easily be used at a fixed station.

For the service of the various socket outlets 14 which it comprises, an electric cable 23 is provided, and, in the embodiment shown, it is a flexible electric cable comprising, within a sheath in insulating material 24, the various electrical conductors 25 required.

Its housing 11 is therefore equipped with a cable clamp 26 suitable for maintaining of this electric cable 23.

In the embodiment shown, this cable clamp 26 intervenes at within the housing 11.

For example, and as shown, it is attached to the back wall 16 of it.

But, of course, other arrangements are possible.

In a manner known per se, the cable clamp 26 comprises at least one bar 28A, 28B suitable for tightening the electric cable 23, this tightening is doing in practice in cooperation with the bottom wall 16 on which it is reported.

To impose, on request, on the electric cable 23, one or the other of at least two different orientations, the cable clamp 26 comprises, from a single according to the invention, at least two bars 28A, 28B, the lengthening directions are themselves different, i.e., a bar 28A here called for simple convenience central bar and at least one bar 28B said here for simple convenience lateral strip, with, for its attachment to the housing 11 of the electrical appliance 10, at least one chimney 30.

By direction of elongation for a bar 28A, 28B, is meant here the general direction in which such a bar 28A, 28B extends.

In the embodiment shown, the cable clamp 26 comprises, according to a general U-shaped configuration, three bars 28A, 28B, namely, the central strip 28A and two lateral strips 28B, and, sockets individually, these various bars 28A, 28B are all substantially straight.

In practice, the directions of elongation of these bars 28A, 28B are generally orthogonal to the orientations chosen as possible for the electric cable 23.

However, in the embodiment shown, each of side bars 28B made with the central bar 28A at an angle A slightly greater than 90 °, moving outward as you go that it moves away from this central bar 28A.

The two lateral bars 28B therefore diverge one with respect to the other from the central bar 28A.

In the embodiment shown, the angle A is the same for one and the other of the two lateral bars 28B.

Anyway, the two side bars 28B are, in practice, substantially coplanar.

The cable clamp 26 according to the invention therefore has, in the form of shown embodiment, a plane of symmetry M, which, perpendicular to its central bar 28A, passes through the central zone thereof.

This plane of symmetry M is shown diagrammatically in lines interrupted by its trace in figure 8.

Leaving aside tilting means explained later, the underside 31B of side bars 28B is substantially level with the underside 31A of the central bar 28A.

But, if, in the embodiment shown, the central bar 28A has a substantially constant height throughout its length, it does not is not the same with side bars 28B, the height of which, on the contrary, gradually decreases from the central bar 28A.

For the central bar 28A, the upper face 32A is therefore substantially parallel to the underside 31A.

On the other hand, for the lateral bars 28B, the upper face 32B is gradually approaches the lower face 31B as it moves away from the central bar 28A.

In addition to their lower faces 31A, 31B and upper 32A, 32B, the bars 28A, 28B comprise, respectively, lateral faces 33A, 33B, which in the embodiment are substantially parallel to each other apart from a possible molding draft.

In the embodiment shown, the following cable clamp 26 the invention comprises two chimneys 30.

One of these chimneys 30 intervenes substantially at the junction of the central bar 28A with one of the lateral bars 28B, half-width for these bars 28A, 28B, that is to say halfway between their lateral faces 33A, 33B, and, similarly, the other of these chimneys 30 intervenes substantially at the junction of the central bar 28A with the other of the lateral bars 28B, at half-width for these bars 28A, 28B, that is to say halfway from their lateral faces 33A, 33B.

In practice, the chimneys 30 extend substantially perpendicular to the plane of the bars 28A, 28B.

At their entry outlet 35, which is located on the side of the upper face 32A, 32B of bars 28A, 28B, the chimneys 30 have, slightly set back from this inlet outlet 35, a neck 36 of section of passage below the passage section which they present in their part standard, for supporting the head 37 with a screw 38.

At least one of the bars 28A, 28B of the following cable clamp 26 the invention, and, preferably, as shown, each of these bars 28A, 28B has at least one recess 40A, 40B recessed on its face lower 31A, 31 B.

In practice, in the embodiment shown, only one notch 40A, 40B is thus provided on the bars 28A, 28B.

From one to the other of the side bars 28B, the notches 40B are substantially aligned with each other.

For example, and as shown, the notches 40A, 40B have a profile in an arc.

They extend substantially in the middle area of the bars 28A, 28B, halfway between the ends of these.

In the embodiment shown, at least one of the bars 28A, 28B of the cable clamp 26 according to the invention, and, preferably, such that shown, each of these bars 28A, 28B has, recessed on its face lower 31A, 31B, in particular for molding reasons, a recess 42A, 42B, which results in that it forms, substantially parallel to its direction of elongation, and substantially parallel to each other, two walls 43A, 43B.

The notch 40A, 40B obviously affects either one and the other of these walls 43A, 43B, and the outer surface of these forms the lateral faces 33A, 33B corresponding.

In the embodiment shown, at least one of the bars 28A, 28B of the cable clamp 26 according to the invention, and, preferably, such that shown, each of these bars 28A, 28B has, recessed on its face lower 31A, 31B, a groove 44A, 44B, which, substantially parallel to its direction of elongation, extends over at least part of its length, substantially halfway between its walls 43A, 43B.

For the central bar 28A, the groove 44A only extends over a part of the length, and, for the side bars 28B, it extends to the otherwise on the whole of it.

More specifically, the groove 44A presented by the central bar 28A only extends over the middle part of its length, between the two chimneys 30, at a distance from them, and, on the contrary, the groove 44B which the lateral bars 28B extends over their entire length, crossing right through the corresponding chimney 30.

For the central bar 28A, the groove 44A extends as close as possible to the most internal wall 43A.

For the lateral bars 28B, the groove 44B extends substantially to halfway between the walls 43B.

As already indicated above, the cable clamp 26 according to the invention is attached to the bottom wall 16 of the housing 11.

It is secured to it with two screws 38, one per chimney 30.

In practice, and as shown, the plane of symmetry M of the cable clamp 26 then extends parallel to the direction of elongation of the housing 11.

More specifically, the central bar 28A of the cable clamp 26 is then substantially parallel to one of the transverse faces 20 of the cover 18 of this housing 11, close to the latter, and therefore it corresponds to an axial outlet for the electric cable 23.

As a corollary, the lateral bars 28B then extend slightly at an angle to the longitudinal faces 19 of the cover 18 of the housing 11, at neighborhood of these, and they each correspond respectively to a lateral outlet for the electric cable 23.

Lids 47A, 47B are provided in correspondence on the face transverse 20 concerned of the cover 18 and on its longitudinal faces 19.

These are for example knockouts or to cut.

In FIGS. 1 and 2, the cover 47A of the transverse face 20 has been supposedly eliminated.

For each of the chimneys 30 of the cable clamp 26, the housing 11 has, moreover, projecting from its bottom wall 16, that is to say projecting on the base 15 forming this bottom wall 16, a pin 48, on which the cable clamp 26 is engaged by such a chimney 30.

This pin 48, which is hollow, serves as a housing for a threaded insert 49 with which the barrel 50 of the corresponding screw 38 is in screw connection.

For each of the bars 28A, 28B of the cable clamp 26, the housing 11 has, in addition, projecting from its bottom wall 16, a rib 51A, 51B, which extends parallel to the walls 43A, 43B of such a bar 28A, 28B, between these walls 43A, 43B.

Along its free edge, this rib 51A, 51B has a notch 52A, 52B, which, like the notch 40A, 40B of the bars 28A, 28B of the cable clamp 26, has an arcuate outline, but according to a concavity which is turned in the opposite direction to that of the latter.

The rib 51A corresponding to the central bar 28A of the cable clamp 26 extends from one to the other of two flanges 53, which, parallel to each other, and perpendicular to this rib 51A, are each respectively arranged at distance of the two pawns 48, between them.

The two ribs 51B corresponding to the two lateral bars 28B on the contrary each extend respectively from the two pawns 48.

Preferably, and this is the case in the embodiment shown, between the cable clamp 26 and the bottom wall 16 of the housing 11 tilting means 54 intervene.

In the embodiment shown, these tilting means 54 comprise, on the underside 31A of the central bar 28A of the cable clamp 26, a tilting projection 55, in the form of a dihedral, the edge of which extends parallel to the direction of elongation of this central bar 28A, on either side of each of the chimneys 30, and by which the cable clamp 26 is suitable for carrying on the bottom wall 16 of the housing 11, and, jointly, there is a clearance J between each of these chimneys 30 of the cable clamp 26 and the corresponding pin 48 of the housing 11, at least transversely to the corresponding tilting axis, i.e. at least in a direction perpendicular to the central bar 28A, as it appears in Figure 11 for one of these chimneys 30 and for one of these pawns 48.

Finally, in the embodiment shown, the housing 11 has, in protruding from its bottom wall 16, and therefore projecting from the base 15 forming this bottom wall 16, a terminal block 56 to which each is respectively connected the electrical conductors 25 of the electrical cable 23.

In the embodiment shown, this connection terminal 56 extends away from the cable clamp 26.

However, due to the divergence between the side bars 28B, it may desired to be more or less engaged between them.

For the connection of the electric cable 23, it is necessary to remove the cable tie 26.

It is indeed necessary that the electric cable 23 is engaged under one or the other of the bars 28A, 28B of this cable clamp 26.

After connecting the electric cable 23, the cable clamp 26 is put back in place.

In FIGS. 1 to 9, it has been assumed that the electric cable 23 is engaged under the central bar 28A of the cable clamp 26.

The orientation imposed on the electric cable 23 then corresponds to a axial outlet for this one.

As will be noted, the walls 43A of the central bar 28A of the cable clamp 26, on the one hand, and the corresponding rib 51A of the housing 11, on the other hand, then impose on the electric cable 23 a zigzag path, at benefit from its restraint.

In FIGS. 10 to 14, it has been assumed, as a variant, that the cable 23 was engaged under one or the other of the side bars 28B of the cable clamp 26.

The orientation thus imposed on the electric cable 23 then corresponds to a side outlet for this one.

As before, and as can be seen in Figure 13, the walls 43B of the side bar 28B concerned, on the one hand, and the rib 51B corresponding to the housing 11, on the other hand, require the electric cable 23 a zigzag path.

Preferably, for such a lateral outlet of the electric cable 23, the tightening of the screws 38 is continued until the cable clamp 26 bears on the bottom wall 16 of the housing 11 by its tilting projection 55.

However, by construction, this tilting projection 55 is located away from the axis of the pins 48, and, therefore, away from the plane along which the screws 38 exert their effect.

As a result, the cable clamp 26 rocks more or less in the direction of the notch 52B of the ribs 51B, if, as shown in FIG. 14, the electric cable 23 has a sufficiently small diameter for it to take contact with the bottom wall 16 of the housing 11 before contacting him.

Of course, the tilting of the cable clamp 26 can be done in the opposite direction to the previous one, if, on the contrary, and as shown in the figure 11, the electric cable 23 has a sufficiently large diameter to contact him before making contact with the back wall 16 of the housing 11.

But, in all cases, the electric cable 26 is energetically located tight.

In both cases, too, the tilting of the cable clamp 26 found authorized by the bleeding 44B of the lateral bars 28B, these engaging with this groove 44B on the ribs 51B of the housing 11.

It should also be noted that, if desired, the following cable clamp 26 the invention advantageously makes it possible to clamp simultaneously, in at least two different directions, at least two separate electrical cables, namely a power supply cable and at least one power cable from transplanting.

In the variant embodiment shown in FIG. 15, the wall of bottom 16 of the housing 11 has, projecting, at the base of the pins 48, a rib 58 which extends on either side of its pawns 48, going, in particular, to the flanges 53 flanking the rib 51A at its ends.

This rib 58 is intended to serve as a support for the tilting projection 55 of the cable clamp 26, the tilting plane of which is thus slightly enhanced, without the mode of implementation of this cable clamp 26 being found modified.

It is therefore in a broader sense that we mean "back wall 16 ", especially when it is indicated that the tilting projection 55 of the cable clamp 26 carries on this bottom wall 16, the latter then having to be understood as possibly comprising for this purpose the rib 58.

In addition, in this alternative embodiment, other ribs have been provided projecting from the bottom wall 16 of the housing 11, for the stiffening of this bottom wall 16.

Of course, the present invention is not limited to the forms of realization described and represented, but includes any variant.

In particular, instead of having a tilting projection on the cable clamp, the tilting means intervening between this cable and the housing could just as well include a tilting projection on this housing.

Claims (25)

Cable clamp, which is intended to equip the housing with any electrical appliance, and which is of the type comprising a bar specific to a tightening of the electrical cable to be connected to this electrical device, characterized in that, in order to impose, on demand, on the electric cable (23) concerned, one or the other of at least two different orientations, it comprises, of a single holding, at least two bars (28A, 28B) whose directions of elongation are themselves different, namely, a bar (28A) called here bar central and at least one bar (28B) called here side bar, with, for its attachment to the housing (11) of the electrical appliance (10), at least one chimney (30). Cable clamp according to claim 1, characterized in that the chimney (30) extends substantially perpendicular to the plane of the bars (28A, 28B). Cable clamp according to any one of claims 1, 2, characterized in that, at its inlet outlet (35), the chimney (30) has a neck (36) with a passage section smaller than the passage section that it presents in its current part. Cable clamp according to any one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the chimney (30) intervenes substantially at the junction of the central bar (28A) with the lateral bar (28B). Cable clamp according to any one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the side bar (28B) made with the central bar (28A) an angle (A). Cable clamp according to claim 5, characterized in that the lateral bar (28B) made with the central bar (28A) at an angle (A) slightly higher than 90 °. Cable clamp according to any one of claims 1 to 13, characterized in that, according to a general U-shaped configuration, it comprises three bars (28A, 28B), namely, a central bar (28A) and two side bars (28B). Cable clamp according to claims 6 and 14, taken together, characterized in that the lateral bars (28B) diverge from one another the other from the central bar (28A). Cable clamp according to claims 4 and 14, taken together, characterized in that it comprises two chimneys (30), one at the junction of the central bar (28A) with one of the side bars (28B), the other at the junction of this central bar (28A) with the other side bars (28B).
