Furthermore, reference is made to one in WO 94/27193 referenced described electrographic printing device, in which two parallel parallel sections of the track can be moved and printed by the printer. The following is for the function of the present invention essential hardware structure Outlines explained. Details of this hardware construction can be found in the mentioned document PCT / EP95 / 04265.
- FIG. 1 parts of a printing device are described, in which a web 1 made of endless carrier material the transport route of the printer twice, with a first one Track section A (A-Bahn) and with a second track section B (B-Bru). Pass through sections A and B. largely synchronously the upper part of the printing device from a caterpillar drive 3 at least up to a pair of fixing rollers 8/1, 8/2 parallel to each other. After the paper feed is the path section A by the positive The caterpillar drive 3 moves forward and arrives at the pair of fixing rollers 8/1, 8/2, which contains a friction drive.
- the web 1 is then deflected, returned and passed through as web section B in juxtaposition to the web section A the same distance from the caterpillar drive 3 to the fixing roller pair 8/1, 8/2.
- the Lane 1 either flipped to also print on its back can, or not turned around to print on the already printed Apply another printed image on the front.
- the pair of fuser rollers 8/1, 8/2 fixes the toner image by thermal pressing on track sections A, B.
- the Fixing roller pair 8/1, 8/2 the web section A is heated, causing shrinkage in the longitudinal direction of the web 1 results.
- the distance between transport holes on the edge of the Lane 1, in which transport pins of the caterpillar drive engage, is shortened, for example by 0.06%.
- FIG. 2 shows a hardware structure by means of which that the effect of shrinkage increases does not lead to malfunctions in printing.
- Bahn 1 of the record carrier is in the transfer printing area 2 at their Front printed with a toner image.
- the form-fitting The caterpillar drive 3 has transport pins which are in corresponding Edge holes (schematically as white omissions in Bru-1 shown) intervene.
- the web section A is in the transfer printing area 2 with the front, the web section B with the Back of web 1 fed.
- the section A passes a tape storage in the form of a first loop puller 6/1 and after passing a first vacuum brake 7/1 from a friction drive within a fixing station 8 driven.
- the web 1 is then turned by a turning device 10 fed, turned there and as the section B the positive Track drive 3 fed again.
- the transfer area 2 In the transfer area 2 is the back of the web 1 at the same time with it Printed on the front. Thereafter, the web section B becomes parallel to web section A to a second loop puller 6/2 and a second vacuum chamber 7/2 guided and arrives then, driven by the friction drive, not to one illustrated paper output.
- a tape storage 11 In the return loop of the web 1 is a tape storage 11 in behind the turning device 10 Form of another loop puller arranged. This tape storage 11 only serves to compensate for tolerances and different for form synchronization when inserting long forms.
- the friction drive comprises a fixing roller 8/1 and one Pressure roller 8/2, with the driven fixing roller 8/1 heated is.
- a fixing gap 9 between the two rollers 8/1 and 8/2 web 1 is pressed, heated and forward transported.
- the functional units for establishing a synchronous parallel run of the two track sections A and B comprise according to Figure 3 several assemblies.
- First is a loop puller unit 6 to mention the two loop pullers 6/1 and 6/2, with each loop puller 6/1, 6/2 one Angle sensor 12/1, 12/2, which sends its signals to a control module Submit 20.
- the loop pullers 6/1, 6/2 are biased by a spring mechanism 13.
- the respective Torque is set by an adjusting device 14. In the event that only one lane the transport route passes through, both loop pullers 6/1, 6/2 rigidly coupled become.
- the vacuum device 15 which comprises a suction pump 15a, which can be controlled Valves 16/1, 16/2 is connected to the sliding surfaces Provide negative pressure for web sections A, B.
- This vacuum device 15 thus forms vacuum brakes 7/1, 7/2, with which each track section A, B separately with one adjustable braking force via valves 16/1, 16/2 can be.
- the setting of valves 16/1, 16/2 is carried out by a vacuum control module 21.
- the Fixing unit 8 has in addition to the fixing roller already mentioned 8/1 and pressure roller 8/2 a pivot mechanism 18, which is set via a drive 19. As in Figure 3 too can be recognized by the pivot mechanism 18 that in the fixing gap 9 force acting on the web sections A and B. can be set.
- the driven fuser roller 8/1 is driven by a stepper motor 17 which receives its current pulses receives from a power electronics module 21, which also the control signals for the motors of valves 16/1, 16/2 provides.
- Another power electronics component 22 provides current pulses for a stepper motor 23 of the positive drive 3 ready, as mentioned as a crawler unit is trained.
- the assemblies are received via line 24 20, 21, 22 Information from a higher-level control (not shown).
- Every loop puller 6/1, 6/2 can be between an upper mechanical Stop 26 and a lower mechanical stop 27 around pivot an axis of rotation 28. Before reaching these stops 26, 27 give the angle sensors signals that one Define the upper error range O and a lower error range U.
- the working area of the loop pullers 6/1, 6/2 is defined by R.
- the center of the loop puller work area is labeled MR.
- MA defines the mean the positions of the two loop pullers 6/1, 6/2.
- RD is the control deviation of the two loop pullers 6/1, 6/2 according to the loop difference control.
- RL denotes the control deviation by MA in relation to the center MR of the work area R.
- the loop puller 6/1, 6/2 In printing mode, changing the speed of the fuser roller 8/1 on the control electronics 20, the content of Web storage, realized by the loop puller 6/1, 6/2, regulated to a medium value.
- The serves as the control variable Mean MA of the positions of the two loop pullers 6/1, 6/2, i.e. an average of the signals of the two associated Angle sensors 12/1 and 12/2.
- the setpoint is e.g. the value MR, i.e. the average of the working area of the loop puller 6/1, 6/2 specified.
- the scheme works so that the Value RL, i.e. the control deviation of MA in relation to MR, is close to zero. This type of regulation is called loop length regulation designated.
- Loop difference control is another control process performed at the difference in angular positions of the loop puller 6/1 for the web section A and of the loop puller 6/2 for the web section B towards zero is regulated, i.e. the control deviation RD should be minimized become.
- the control deviation RD should be minimized become.
- a permanent, slight control deviation can remain.
- the vacuum brakes 7/1, 7/2 used as actuators, acting on the valves 16/1, 16/2 by the controller becomes.
- the on the sliding surfaces 7/1, 7/2 of the vacuum brakes generated braking force is the slip of the Web section A and that of web section B in the fixing gap 9 changed between the rollers 8/1 and 8/2 relative to each other.
- Figure 5 shows a frequency-time diagram, based on which the Control process for starting operation is explained.
- the diagram is divided into a start phase and a subsequent one Phase with continuous printing.
- the characteristic 40 in continuous printing operation roughly defines the Print speed, which is essentially constant. Due to paper tolerances, the transportation speed may change for lane 1 slightly change which one compensated by a fine control of the speed of the fusing roller 8/1 becomes.
- the stepper motor 17 of the fixing roller 8/1 (cf. Figure 4) and the stepper motor 23 of the crawler unit 3 from control by current pulses with a predetermined Frequency controlled; this frequency thus defines the peripheral speed the fixing roller 8/1 or that of the caterpillar wheel the crawler unit 3.
- the stepper motor 23 is according to driven by a linear characteristic 42, i.e. he has one constant acceleration.
- Position 48 is reached in the frequency-time characteristic.
- the control unit generates current pulses for the Stepper motor 17 output according to the stored characteristic curve 44, i.e. the stepper motor 17 is accelerated more than the stepper motor 23, with the result that the loop puller 6/1, 6/2 save a decreasing length of lane 1.
- the frequency-time diagram section 50 is run through.
- the Digit 52 is the value MA or the middle signal of the two Angle sensors 12/1, 12/2 dropped below the MR value again and signals that the lower storage value has been reached Su.
- the stepper motor 17 is again with a constant frequency supplied by current pulses, so that the peripheral speed of the fixing roller 8/1 constant remains.
- the loop pullers 6/1, 6/2 now save again an increasing amount of lane 1.
- the frequency-time characteristic curve 56 supports the current pulses of the stepper motor 17 from different sections with increasing frequency and with constant frequency together. This way it becomes a gentle and quick one Accelerate web 1 reached without the loop puller 6/1 and 6/2 swing strongly and if necessary in the error areas O and U arrive (see FIG. 4). Moreover the overshoot remains in the transition area from start operation low for continuous printing. It should also be noted that the invention is not limited to linear characteristics is. Rather, nonlinear characteristic curves in sections, e.g. sinusoidal characteristics are used.
- the stop operation in which the Lane 1 approximately based on a transport speed brought to a standstill immediately at the printing speed becomes.
- the control process then takes place so that for the engine 17 current pulses according to a falling frequency-time characteristic be specified.
- This frequency-time characteristic has one greater inclination than the frequency-time characteristic to be run simultaneously the stepper motor 23 for the caterpillar drive 3.
- the one realized by the loop puller 6/1, 6/2 Web storage is achieved by transporting the fusing roller 8/1 emptied sections faster than web material through the Transport of the caterpillar unit 3 web material supplied becomes.
- the lower storage value Su for the Web storage then becomes the speed of the fusing roller 8/1 corresponding to a constant frequency of the current pulses for the stepper motor 17 kept constant until the Upper storage value is achieved in the web storage.
- the web 1 in one Position stopped in which the loop pullers 6/1, 6/2 store a large length of web material, i.e. the position the loop puller 6/1, 6/2 is near the upper fault area O.
- the following is the control process for setting a uniform rail transport of the web section A and the Track section B described.
- this regulatory process by setting the vacuum in the vacuum brake 7/1 for the web section A and the vacuum brake 7/2 for the Track section B and by adjusting the pressure force adjustment mechanism and thus the pressure force on the web section A and the pressing force on the web section B of the Slip with respect to the rotation of the fixing roller 8/1 so set that the difference in transport speeds between the two track sections becomes minimal.
- controlled variable for this control process the length difference is that in the Loop pullers 6/1, 6/2 stored lengths of the track section A or the track section B.
- Step 6 The process steps shown in Figure 6 relate to essential to the printing operation.
- An initialization then follows in step 64 made, i.e. it is checked whether the loop puller 6/1, 6/2 in a middle position of the work area R are, preferably close to the value MR (see FIG 4).
- a service person the preset control parameters are output (Step 66).
- the service technician can use this diagnostic system also re-enter various control parameters in order to Printer on different types of paper, print speeds, etc. to adjust.
- step 68 is in the sequence control checks whether printing operation has stopped. If if this is the case, then at the beginning, i.e. to step 60 branched.
- process step 70 depending on the value dT, i.e. depending on the difference in the angular position of the loop puller 6/1, 6/2 a pressure difference dP according to a proportional Control algorithm set on vacuum brakes 7/1, 7/2.
- the chosen control algorithm (step 72), are the power electronics module 21 as a setpoint PA should for the vacuum on the vacuum brake 7/1 of the Value Pstart - dP and as the corresponding setpoint PBsoll for the vacuum on the vacuum brake 7/2 the value Pstart + dP specified.
- the pressure force adjustment technology are called Forces FA for the web section A the value Fstart + dF and for the force FB for the web section B the value Fstart - dF specified.
- step 74 it is checked whether one of the Setpoints PAsetpoint or PBsetpoint are less than a specified one Minimum pressure is Pmin. If this is the case, the Values PAsoll and PBsoll are set to this value Pmin.
- step 80 it is checked whether the force difference dF is greater than zero is. If this is not the case, the process branches to step 66. Otherwise, the value dF becomes zero in step 82 set.
- step 84 checked whether the angle difference dT is greater than a critical value Tsynch. Is this the If so, a so-called Synchronization stop triggered, i.e. the printing operation will stopped according to the stop operation described earlier and at a later point in time at which a defined initial state is restored, printing can be started with Step 66 continues.
- step 88 it is checked in step 88 whether the angle difference dT is less than a preset threshold value T for the angle difference.
- step variable n is reduced by 1 in step 100, ie the lower switching threshold Tn-1 is used in the further control.
- the differential force dF is reduced by dFdown.
- the reductions according to steps 100 and 102 have the practical significance that the malfunction has been eliminated in the control process and that a lower force difference dF and a lower switching threshold Tn-1 can now be used to fulfill the control task. If the AND condition is not fulfilled in step 98, the process branches immediately to step 66.
- control circuit according to steps 66 to 88 and 98 to 66 represents the normal state, wherein sufficient slip is only generated by the suction effect of the vacuum brakes 7/1, 7/2 in order to keep the angle difference dT essentially constant or downsize.
- step 88 If it is determined in step 88 that the angle difference dT is greater than the current switching threshold Tn for the angle difference, it branches to step 90, where it is checked is whether the set force difference dF for the two Path sections A, B larger than a critical maximum value of Pressure force Fmax is. If this is the case, it becomes Step 98 branches, which has already been explained above has been. Otherwise, the differential force becomes in the subsequent step 92 dF increased by the value dFup, i.e. there is a Pressure increase on the web section A and a corresponding Relief of the track section B. This can relative transport speed between the track section A and the track section B are changed, i.e. the track section B can assume a larger slip value.
- Step 94 checks whether the run variable n has reached its maximum value. If this is the case, then branches to step 98. Otherwise, the following Step 96 increments the run variable by 1, i.e. in the following Control process is used as the switching threshold for the angle difference T uses a higher value Tn + 1.
- the pressure force adjustment by increasing the pressure force FA in web section A according to step 92 or by lowering the pressing force FA in the web section A according to step 102 Effect of a rough regulation that only after exceeding one predetermined angle difference Tn is activated.
- Tn the pressure force adjustment by increasing the pressure force FA in web section A according to step 92 or by lowering the pressing force FA in the web section A according to step 102
- the vacuum in the Vacuum brakes 7/1, 7/2 according to step 70 the difference of Adjusted the angular positions of the loop pullers 6/1 and 6/2.
- the power electronics module 21 controls the vacuum valves 16/1 and 16/2 to the vacuum brakes 7/1 and 7/2. Motors are provided for this purpose, which are controlled by a direct current output stage. Such a direct current output stage is shown in more detail in FIG. This output stage is of considerable importance for the functioning of the vacuum brakes 7/1, 7/2. This is because it must enable the motors for the valves 16/1, 16/2 to rotate in both directions of rotation and should immediately detect a mechanical blocking of the motor shafts of the motors for the valves 16/1, 16/2.
- the output stage shown in FIG. 7 fulfills the requirements mentioned.
- the motor M is supplied by the transistors T1 and T4 via a PTC thermistor R via the operating voltage Ub when running counterclockwise.
