Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren und eine Einrichtung zur Herstellung von ausgebauchten Hohlprofilen. Dabei wird das Hohlprofil mittels Innenhochdruckumformen unter Benutzung des Aufweitstauchens von einer längeren, schlanken, linearen rohrförmigen Ausgangsform in eine kürzere ausgebauchte Endform gebracht wird. Um in einfacher Weise ein Hohlprofil mit einer Ausbauchung hohen Umformgrades prozeßsicher herzustellen, wird erfindungsgemäß vorgeschlagen, daß das Hohlprofil vor der Innenhochdruck-Umformung im Bereich der auszubildenden Ausbauchung abgeplattet wird und daß danach unter Beibehaltung der Abplattung die Innenhochdruck-Umformung des Restumfangs des Hohlprofiles an dieser Stelle erfolgt.
