Description

Aus der US-A-5 495 877 ist eine Nachfüllvorrichtung für einen Tintenstrahl-Druckkopf bekannt. Die Vorrichtung hat einen Halter zum Einsetzen des Druckkopfs mit Schnappelementen, um die Düsenplatte und eine Luftzufuhröffnung zu einem Blasengenerator des Druckkopfs zur dichtenden Anlage gegen je ein Dichtungsplättchen zu halten. Nach dem Einsetzen des Druckkopfs wird ein Dichtungsträger aufgesetzt, der eine Luftzufuhröffnung im Deckel abdichtet. Auf den Halter wird ein Kanülenträger aufgesteckt, der mit einer Hohlnadel eine Kugel in einer Einfüllöffnung des Druckkopfs in den Tintenvorratsraum eindrückt. Das andere Ende der Hohlnadel ist zugespitzt. Auf dieses wird ein mit einem elastomeren Stopfen verschlossener Tinten-Vorratsbehälter aufgesteckt. Dessen Deckel wird abgenommen, so dass die Tinte in den Vorratsraum einfliesst. Nach dem Abnehmen des Kanülenträgers wird die Einfüllöffnung verschlossen und der Druckkopf aus dem Halter entfernt. Diese Vorrichtung setzt eine durch eine eingepresste Kugel verschlossene Einfüllöffnung im Deckel des Druckkopfs voraus, was nicht bei allen Druckköpfen dieser Art der Fall ist.
US-A-5 607 003 zeigt eine Nachfüllvorrichtung mit einem Hardbohrer (36).
Der vorliegenden Erfindung liegt die Aufgabe zugrunde, eine Nachfüllvorrichtung anzugeben, welche sich auch für Druckköpfe ohne Einfüllöffnung im Deckel eignet. Diese Aufgabe wird durch die Merkmalskombination des Anspruchs 1 gelöst.
Nachfolgend wird ein Ausführungsbeispiel der Erfindung anhand der Zeichnung erläutert. Die einzige Figur zeigt eine Nachfüllvorrichtung, teilweise im Schnitt.
Die dargestellte Nachfüllvorrichtung 1 ist für einen Druckkopf 2 bestimmt, der unten eine Düsenplatte 3 sowie eine Luftzufuhröffnung 4 zu einem Blasengenerator besitzt. Im Deckel 5 ist eine Belüftungsöffnung 6 zu einer im Tintenvorratsraum angeordneten "Lunge" angebracht.
Die Nachfüllvorrichtung 1 umfasst einen Halter 10 mit einem Boden 11, einer Rückwand 12 und zwei Seitenwänden 13 zum genauen Positionieren des Druckkopfs 2. An der Rückwand 12 ist oben ein um eine vertikale Achse 14 schwenkbarer Arm 15 mit einer Durchgangsbohrung 16 befestigt. In der dargestellten Arbeitsstellung liegt der Arm 15 gegen einen Anschlag an und drückt auf den Dekkel 5. Beim Einschieben des Druckkopfs 2 wird er durch zwei schienenartige Rillen 19 in den beiden Seitenwänden 13 mit der Öffnung 4 gegen eine elastomere Dichtplatte 17 auf dem Boden 11 gepresst. Die Düsenplatte wird auf ein poröses, zum Beispiel angefeuchtetes Saugelement 18, zum Beispiel aus Schaumstoff, gedrückt. Damit wird die Düsenplatte 3 gleichzeitig gereinigt.
Die Vorrichtung 1 umfasst zudem einen Zapfen 22 zum Verschliessen der Öffnung 6, einen metallenen Dorn 23, dessen untere Stirnfläche 24 scharfkantig schräg zur Dornachse geschliffen ist, und der oben eine runde Scheibe 25 hat, sowie einen mit Tinte 26 gefüllten Behälter 27. Mit dem Dorn 23 kann durch die Öffnung 16 hindurch in den Deckel 5 ein rundes Loch 28 gestochen oder gebohrt werden. Es hat sich nämlich gezeigt, dass am Deckel 5 die Stelle des Angusses sehr leicht durchstochen werden kann. Durch die genaue Positionierung des Druckkopfs 2 im Halter 10 und des Arms 15 wird diese Schwachstelle im Deckel reproduzierbar erreicht. Der Behälter 27 hat unten eine Hohlnadel 29, auf deren Spitze ein elastomerer Stopfen 30 aufgesteckt ist. Der Deckel 31 hat eine Durchgangsbohrung 32, in welcher ein weiterer, elastomerer Zapfen 33 eingesteckt ist. Der Durchmesser des Zapfens 33 entspricht dem Durchmesser des Dorns 23.
Nachdem der Zapfen 22 eingesteckt und das Loch 28 gestochen ist, wird die Nadel 29 durch den Stopfen 30 hindurch durch die Öffnungen 16, 28 in den Vorratsraum des Druckkopfs 2 gesteckt und der Zapfen 33 entfernt, so dass die Tinte 26 in den Druckkopf 2 einfliesst. Nach Entleeren des Behälters 27 wird dieser abgezogen, der Arm 15 weggeschwenkt und der Zapfen 33 in die Öffnung 28 eingesteckt, so dass diese luftdicht verschlossen ist. Nun wird der Zapfen 22 abgezogen und der gefüllte Druckkopf 2 aus dem Halter 10 entfernt.
Es ist auch denkbar, die Hohlnadel 29 direkt als Dorn 23 auszubilden. In diesem Fall sollten der Stopfen 30 und die Bohrung 16 so bemessen werden, dass beim Einstechen der Nadel 29 die Stirnfläche des Stopfens 30 gegen den Deckel 5 abdichtet. Um die Entlüftung des Innenraums des Druckkopfs 2 beim Einfüllen der Tinte 26 zu ermöglichen, kann an der Nadel 29 beabstandet von ihrer Spitze mindestens eine Längsrille vorgesehen sein.

Claims (8)

  1. Nachfüllvorrichtung für einen Tintenstrahl-Druckkopf (2), umfassend einen Halter (10), der einen Boden (11) mit einem Dichtelement (17) zum Abdichten der Luftzufuhröffnung zu einem Blasengenerator des Druckkopfs (2) und oben einen Arm (15) mit einer Durchgangsbohrung (16) aufweist, einen Dorn (23) zum Bohren oder Durchstechen einer Öffnung (28) zum Tintenvorratsraum in einer Deckfläche (5) des Druckkopfs (2), einen Tintenbehälter (27) mit einer Hohlnadel (29) zum Einführen in die gebildete Öffnung (28) mit einem ersten Zapfen (33) in einer Bohrung (32) des Deckels (31) des Behälters (27), sowie ein Verschlusselement (22) zum Verschliessen der Luftzufuhröffnung (6) einer Lunge des Druckkopfs (2).
  2. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 1, wobei der erste Zapfen (33) einen zylindrischen Teil mit einem Durchmesser hat, der annähernd dem Durchmesser des Dorns (23) entspricht, so dass der erste Zapfen (33) nach Herausziehen der Hohlnadel (29) zum Abdichten der Öffnung (28) einsetzbar ist.
  3. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 1 oder 2, wobei auf dem Boden (11) zusätzlich ein saugfähiges Element (18) zum Reinigen der Düsenplatte (3) des Druckkopfs (2) befestigt ist, welches die Düsenplatte (3) bei eingesetztem Druckkopf (2) berührt.
  4. Vorrichtung nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 3, wobei der Arm (15) schwenkbar am Halter (10) befestigt ist.
  5. Vorrichtung nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 4, wobei das Verschlusselement (22) ein zweiter Zapfen ist.
  6. Vorrichtung nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 5, wobei am Dorn (23) eine Scheibe (25) befestigt ist.
  7. Vorrichtung nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 6, wobei die Spitze der Hohlnadel (29) durch einen elastomeren Stopfen (30) abgeschlossen ist, der beim Einstecken der Hohlnadel (29) in die Bohrung (16) durchstochen wird.
  8. Vorrichtung nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 7, wobei die Hohlnadel (29) als Dorn zum Bohren oder Durchstechen der Öffnung (28) ausgebildet ist.
