Definitions
- the invention relates to a fuel supply unit with one in one Fuel tank arranged fuel pump, which for pumping Fuel from the fuel tank to an internal combustion engine Motor vehicle is designed with a pressure control valve, which for Maintaining a pressure when the internal combustion engine is switched off and the one is switched off Fuel pump in a through a lid of the fuel tank leading line leading to the internal combustion engine.
- Such a fuel supply unit is used in today's motor vehicles used and is therefore known.
- the fuel pump is by means of a Connection line with one inserted into an opening in the fuel tank Lid connected.
- the supply line leads from this cover to the Internal combustion engine.
- the pressure control valve is located in an outlet of the Fuel pump. This is to achieve that, firstly, the fuel volume remains in the flow line and thus directly at the start of the internal combustion engine and secondly, vaporization is largely available is excluded.
- Evaporation occurs when the flow line is heated up due to After-heat in the flow line. Evaporation of the fuel leads to Steam bubbles in the supply line, which supply the internal combustion engine interrupt with fuel when restarting.
- the interruption the fuel supply must be especially in motor vehicles with an exhaust gas catalytic converter can be reliably prevented.
- the disadvantage here is that due to a plurality of connection points between Fuel tank and internal combustion engine the pressure in the supply line is not kept reliably and therefore drops after a short time.
- a pressure responsive fuel delivery system has a distributor with pressure sensor and bypass line (US 5,148,792).
- One a feed valve and are connected to the distributor connect a pressure relief valve in the bypass line.
- the disadvantage of this arrangement is the presence of two valves around the Maintain pressure in the supply line.
- the invention is based on the problem of a fuel supply unit to be designed so that the drop in pressure in the Flow line in the area of the internal combustion engine delayed as long as possible and this is fuel leakage when the supply line is disconnected prevented by the lid as a result of an accident or repair or maintenance work becomes.
- This design means that the one leading from the fuel pump to the cover Connection line after switching off the internal combustion engine and the Fuel pump no longer under pressure. This can also be used at the ends of this No more fuel can escape from the connecting line, causing the Pressure.
- the fuel supply unit according to the invention therefore only has two more sealing points at the ends of the flow line, which are sufficient anyway Must be kept tight since they are outside the fuel tank are located.
- the hose coupling is preferably at one end to the flow line and connectable with its second end to a connecting piece of the cover and has the pressure control valve in its central passage area.
- the pressure control valve has an opposite direction of delivery to the internal combustion engine spring-loaded valve member, the Sealing surface against an arranged in the through opening of the hose coupling, annular valve seat can be created.
- the valve can flow around an open position of the pressure control valve Be a sealing washer, which preferably provides an axially protruding has an annular circumferential sealing edge.
- a simple fastening option for the flow line is thus achieved that the first end of the hose coupling with a sawtooth-shaped, rotating Groove profile is formed on the one end of the hose-like flow line can be pushed and fixed.
- a quick connection and disconnection of the flow line from the connecting piece is achieved in that the second end of the hose coupling designed as a quick connector that can be plugged onto the connecting piece is.
- FIG. 1 shows schematically the supply of an internal combustion engine 1
- Fuel 2 from a fuel tank 3. This is the fuel tank 3 via a flow line 4 with an injection system 5 of the internal combustion engine 1 connected.
- a fuel pump is located in the fuel tank 3 6 with a connecting line 7.
- a cover 9 is inserted, which has a common connecting piece 10 for the connecting line 7 and the flow line 4 has.
- In the connector 10 is a pressure holding valve 11 with a valve seat 12 and a valve member 13 arranged.
- the valve member 13 is from a spring 14 biased against the valve seat 12.
- the pressure control valve 11 can of Fuel pump 6 to the injection system 5 delivered fuel 2 unhindered by. If the pressure in the flow line 4 in the area of the injection system 5 is larger than in the area of the fuel pump 6, the pressure control valve closes 11 similar to a check valve. This is the case if the internal combustion engine 1 and also the fuel pump 6 are switched off.
- the pressure control valve 11 prevents it from falling below the vapor pressure of the fuel 2.
- the fuel 2 can do not evaporate and vapor bubbles in the flow line 4 in the area Form internal combustion engine 1.
- FIG 2 shows an enlarged view of the hose coupling plugged onto the cover 9 16 in a sectional view.
- the lid 9 has a common one Connection piece 10 for the hose coupling 16 and for the one in the figure 1 shown fuel pump 6 leading connecting line 7.
- the cover 9th is inserted into the opening 8 of the fuel tank 3 from Figure 1.
- the hose coupling 16 has a connector 18 on the left-hand end which the flow line 4 is attached.
- For sealing against the Connection pieces 10 are two O-rings in the interior of the hose coupling 16 20, 21 arranged.
- a manually operated pressure ring 22 enables one quick assembly and disassembly of the hose coupling 16 on the connecting piece 10.
- the pressure control valve 11 Inside the hose coupling 16 is the pressure control valve 11 incorporated. This has a valve member 13, which is by means of the spring 14 is biased against the valve seat 12.
