Definitions

  • Electronic access authorization systems offer mechanical locking systems to a much higher degree Flexibility in individual allocation or withdrawal of access authorizations.
  • Losing a key poses a risk of misuse for all locks to which it fits. In case of loss they all have to be reprogrammed on site that the lost key will be rejected in the future becomes.
  • Another disadvantage is that the programmed access authorization relation difficult to check or can change, because all relevant locks and / or keys can be checked or reprogrammed have to. So the effort increases with increasing complexity the access authorization relation between users or keys or codes and locks strongly and requires a high level of logistics.
  • a disadvantage of this system in terms of use in a rental system is that the end of the usage cycle is not determined by the current user can be, but only at the beginning of the following Cycle of use occurs, i.e. from the following User is initiated. That means under other that the current user the end of his current Cannot demonstrate usage cycle. This excludes an application in a rental system out.
  • Another disadvantage of this system is that there are problems can occur when the code output unit and a Locking device "got out of step", so no more are synchronized.
  • DE 43 01 039 C2 describes a method for targeted reservation-dependent Approval of vehicles for one described to certain users.
  • this requires a high level of technical effort (cordless phones) Sites of useful objects and permanent parking spaces nearby from parking stations.
  • the object of the invention is to provide a Locking device for useful objects for a specific Time used by one user, the disadvantages avoids the locking devices described.
  • Another object is to provide a method through which the controlled, limited time Use of useful objects is made possible.
  • a locking system consists of one or more Locking devices 2 and one or more central Access control units 1.
  • the locking device 2 works with four codes, namely a code request code 3, an opening code 4, a End code 6 and an acknowledgment code 8.
  • the codes are entirely or partially variable in such a way that in whole or in part during each cycle of use change. This principle is known as code advancement.
  • a cycle of use extends from the first opening by entering the opening code 4 for the first time until the final one Lock by entering the end code 6.
  • the code update rule is secret and only that Locking device and the access control unit known.
  • a secret connection can sometimes exist between the codes exist in such a way that actually only one of the Codes changed according to the code update regulation and the other codes consequently partially adapted in this way that they are again in the secret context.
  • the code request code 3 is in the simplest case only from a fixed object or locking device number. It is not necessary, but it is useful variable. If it is variable, it serves as a Information for a potential user who works for a found object can derive from it whether it is this is currently in use. Secondly identified he shares and shares the usage cycle and condition as initial input information of the access control unit 1 not only with which locking device 2 opened but also in which usage cycle and state it is. This increases reliability the synchronization of the locking device 2 with the access control unit 1.
  • the code request code 3 can also provide additional data about the state of the useful object included, e.g. an initial counter reading or similar. This additional data should be Protection against manipulation encrypted or over a encrypted checksum must be secured.
  • the opening code 4 corresponds to a temporarily valid one Key and controls the opening of the lock, i.e. the Release of the controlled by the locking device 2 Object for use. If it is entered, it opens the lock and the object can be used. this applies exactly for the duration of the current usage cycle, so if necessary for several opening processes, whereby a temporary Reseal the lock without a code, e.g. through mechanical Close or a simple button signal can. When the usage cycle ends, the Opening code 4 is valid due to the code advancement.
  • the opening code 4 can expediently from the access control unit 1 originating for the useful object contain certain additional data, e.g. the Number or type of uses of the useful object or the useful life is limited. This additional data too should protect against manipulation encrypted or secured via an encrypted checksum be.
  • Entering the end code 6 marks the end of a usage cycle.
  • the Locking device either already in the locked state or it changes to this state.
  • the receipt code 8 is output, and the code advance is executed (4-> 4 ').
  • a reopening is then only against the requirement of the new opening code 4 'from the Access control unit possible.
  • the end code 6 can only consist of a simple signal that is the end of the usage cycle. Conveniently, should however, this can only be triggered by the legitimate user can, the end code 6 only accessible to this or be known.
  • the end code 6 can expediently in a simple relationship to the opening code 4 are, for example from the opening code 4 in reverse Sequence or an additional digit and the opening code 4 exist, or it can be the same as the opening code 4, but only by actuating an additional signal develop its effect as end code 6.
  • the receipt code 8 is for the final entry provided in the access control unit 1. He serves this opposite as exonerating proof of termination the use of the controlled by the locking device 2 Useful object. He comes in particular when using it importance in rental systems.
  • This receipt code too 8 can expediently contain additional data, e.g. about kilometers driven or number and type of used Functions of the useful object, which conclude from the access control unit 1 for the purpose of billing can be evaluated or saved. The billing could e.g. in the return of a previously entered Deposit minus the user fee. Also For this additional data, a backup is recommended Encryption or an encrypted checksum.
  • the transfer of the codes between the access control unit 1 and locking device 2 can by electromagnetic Signals such as Infrared signals, completely without action done by the user.
  • Carrier medium would be conceivable magnetic cards, chip cards, processor chip cards, magnetic coated paper strips, paper strips with punched hole patterns or printed Barcodes, modified infrared signal controlled Car keys and the like.
  • the user's credentials against the Access control unit 1 can according to the state of the Technically appropriate processes happen, e.g. over a Magnetic card or a chip card or a processor chip card or a biometric method or the Exchange of coded signals e.g. through an infrared signal key module or by simply entering one Secret codes via keyboard.
  • the access control unit 1 can perform various functions. That's enough from simply accepting a deposit with a final one Return of a residual value until storage all usage processes and billing via an account.
  • the code request code 3, the (encrypted) status data of the useful object can be used for Use the intended object or the locking device 2 removed and into the access control unit 1 entered, whereby the opening device 2 and if necessary their condition is identified.
  • the access control unit 1 After a the state of the art authorization to open the code request code 3 specified locking device 2 and thus for use of the relevant useful object (9) and, if applicable, deposited a pledge. If the result of this test is positive becomes the current one for the locking device 2 Opening code 4, which also contains additional data for evaluation contained by the useful object and control of the same can be spent.
  • the code request code 3 can for the duration of the usage cycle be modified (3 -> 3 *) such that for a user, who finds a locked utility object, from it shows that this is currently in use.
  • the end code 6 entered. This can expediently e.g. from the Opening code 4 in combination with an additional signal consist.
  • the locking device may then go into a locked state via (7), provided that it is is not already in one, gives the receipt code 8 off and switches through the code advance so that further use only on request a new opening code 4 'is possible.
  • the Acknowledgment code 8 can be returned to the access control unit 1 can be entered, which relieves the termination the use of the useful object is proven and if necessary with the help of the code 8 (encrypted) additional data a final settlement, e.g. e.g. a deposit is returned or the like.
  • the request code 3 * can be modified in this way become (3 * -> 3 ') that on the one hand the new Cycle of use, on the other hand the state (not in use) clearly emerges. This represents the synchronization the locking device 2 with the access control unit 1 sure.
  • the new code request code can expediently 3 'equal to the previous receipt code 8 be.
  • the synchronization between the locking device and the access control unit is through the use of the code request code 3 ensures what is known method is not the case.
  • multiple locking devices 2 can a cheap, less secure code I / O method be selected, e.g. a simple keyboard and a simple one LCD display, for the user authorization check 9 compared to the usually only available Access control unit 1, however, a more complex, more expensive process, e.g. a processor chip card.
  • the in the multiple locking devices 2 too implementing logic is very simple and consists of essentially only from an opening code comparison and one Code advancement algorithm, what an inexpensive Manufacturing enables.
  • An information link between the access control unit 1 and locking device 2 does not need simultaneous and exist "online", but can be intermediary Use carrier media. This enables one spatial and temporal separation of the proof of authorization 9 of the closing process 5.
  • a telephone connection allows this e.g. a simple and cost-saving bridging of any size Distances between a central access control unit 1 and a variety of arbitrarily stationed locking devices 2, what is described in a later example becomes.
  • the locking device 2 consists of a bicycle lock, that has the properties according to the invention: the input medium is a keyboard, the output medium is e.g. six-digit LCD display.
  • the input medium is a keyboard
  • the output medium is e.g. six-digit LCD display.
  • the access control unit 1 consists of a computer system, that over standard modems with telephone lines connected is.
  • the control and data entry through a calling user is made using multi-frequency dialing tones, that you can use with most phones the keyboard or with cheap, commercially available additional devices can generate.
  • Such computer systems are state of the art technology, e.g. in automatic telephone banking systems.
  • a usage cycle is as follows:
  • the bicycles will be near Telephone booths parked.
  • the user finds one parked bicycle and would like to use it. To do this reads he a bike number and from the LCD display on the locked Locked another number. The combination of these numbers forms the code request code 3.
  • he enters the phone booth and calls the access control computer 1. The latter asks for it Enter his user number, his secret number (PIN) (9), and the combined code request code 3 from the bike number and the one displayed at the lock Number.
  • PIN his secret number
  • the user data is checked, the code request code 3 if necessary with the saved status data of the bicycle in question, the authorization checked to use this bike, the new rental condition saved and that for this bike and the current one Multi-digit opening code belonging to the usage cycle 4 determined.
  • This opening code 4 becomes the user now communicated acoustically.
  • the bike in question applies as agreed by the user concerned borrowed.
  • the user can now enter the lock Open code 4 and use the bike. He can lock the lock at any time during use and by re-entering the opening code 4 to open again.
  • the code request code shown on the LCD display 3 is hidden during the usage cycle and instead show a 3 * hint that says potential post-user signals that this Bicycle is currently in use.
  • the user puts the bike back as agreed e.g. near a phone booth. He's locking that up Lock, press a special end key and give again the opening code 4.
  • the combination of the end key and opening code 4 interprets the lock as input of the end code 6.
  • the user stopped will enter the location number of the phone booth in which he is so that the computer can get out of it with the help the location of the relevant directory Can determine the bicycle.
  • the computer can then also offer an information function in such a way that when entering a current location via the phone booth location number or your own Phone number the location of the nearest bike determines and outputs.
  • Every customer or association participant has a special one Compound key. This is designed as follows: A mechanical one that is identical for all combination keys Key bit mechanically unlocks that for everyone Steering wheel lock for vehicles with the same key. Inside the Compound key sits a microchip that holds the electronic Immobilizer unlocked. An infrared interface is used for communication with the central locking system. This specification corresponds to the state of the art for new vehicles.
  • the compound key has via a small keyboard and a multi-frequency tone code transmitter, as with handheld transmitters for remote answering machine State of the art.
  • Vehicle use works as follows: The user calls the booking center via any telephone on. He activates the compound key through the Enter a key PIN. Authentication versus the access control unit 1 in the booking center happens by the customer using the code transmitter of the compound key holds on the mouthpiece and a special one Presses the key. The compound key sends the central booking computer an authentication code via multi-frequency signal. After verified access authorization, the User of the opening code 4 acoustically transmitted. This one the user enters using the key keyboard. Of the Compound key is now charged. Alternatively, could the transmission of the opening code 4 also from the booking computer 1 to the combination key via multi-frequency signal. However, this would involve a higher technical outlay for the multiple compound keys. Securing the transmitted codes against unauthorized persons Eavesdropping can be done through cryptographic mechanisms easy to implement. For example, ensured be that the opening code 4 only for a specific Compound key is valid.
  • the properties of the invention can be through a software adaptation in the central locking and implement immobilizer control unit: the central locking opens when the currently valid opening codes 4 via infrared signal.
  • the Immobilizer switches the ignition when receiving the straight valid opening codes 4 from the compound key microchip free.
  • Cryptographic security mechanisms Code advance, public-private key encryption
  • the communication between compound key and Central locking or immobilizer state of the art are in the code exchange principle according to the invention integrable: work within a cycle of use the locking functions for temporary locking and reopening conventionally.
  • the end of the usage cycle directs the user by pressing one special end key on the compound key.
  • Of the End code 6 is the central locking system via infrared signal transmitted. This carries out the code advance (4 -> 4 ') and sends the acknowledgment code 8 back.
  • the transmission of booking and Trip data close.
  • the receipt code 8 may be included or transmitted with it e.g. Information about kilometers traveled, exceeded Maximum speeds or from an accident data recorder unit provided information about accidents, Billiards or other irregularities.
