Abstract

The grip handle (1) and/or lever (2) partially enclose a space in the area of the joint (5). The pivot pin (6) is pressed into the space against the tension of a helical spring. The end of the spring opposite to the pivot has an associated washer as abutment. This closes the space, so that it is protected against dirt, damage and/or loss of the spring. The pivot pin forms an adjusting element for gripping position and adjustment position. The helical spring engages at least partially into a bore in the pivot pin. This has two parts of different dias.

Description

The invention relates to a gripper, as characterized in the preamble of claim 1.

Such gripping tongs are known from DE 921 80 69 U. We expressly refer to the detailed and detailed functional description of the gripping tongs that can be found in this prior art.

There is known from Figure 1 and Figure 4, a gripping pliers, which consists of a pliers handle and a pliers bracket with a locking hole, each having a handle section and a jaw opposite the handle section, the pliers handle and the pliers bracket in a joint to one another Pivot axis are pivotally mounted and the joint has an engagement position and an adjustment position. The forceps handle is provided with a slot in the area of the joint through which the forceps clip is inserted, so that the forceps handle engages around the forceps bar on both sides in the area of the joint. An adjusting element which can be manually displaced in the direction of the pivot axis against a spring and which comprises a locking pin is provided for adjusting the engagement position and the adjustment position, the locking pin forming the bearing axis of the joint in the engagement position.

The pliers handle and the pliers bracket delimit a space in the area of the joint into which the locking pin can be pressed in against the bias of the spring. The spring is adjacent to the pivot axis or arranged approximately coaxially to the pivot axis. The star-shaped cross section of the profiled locking pin engages positively in the locking hole in the longitudinal direction of the locking hole. The locking pin is biased into its engagement position by an unprotected leaf spring, which is located on the outside of the joint opposite the locking pin. To adjust the mouth width of the known gripping pliers, the locking pin must be pressed against the force of the leaf spring into the pliers joint, so that its larger cross section is pressed out of the locking hole. Then the pliers bracket can be adjusted against the pliers handle to the desired extent. As soon as the locking pin is released, the leaf spring presses it into the engagement position with the locking hole and the intended jaw width of the gripping pliers is fixed.

In the known gripping pliers, it is felt to be disadvantageous that the joint and the return spring are largely unprotected against dirt and damage.

Proceeding from this, it is an object of the invention to provide gripping pliers in which the joint is simple to manufacture and less sensitive to use.

This object is achieved by a gripper with the features of claim 1.

The locking pin has a first area of smaller diameter and a second area of larger diameter, and the tong clip has an elongated locking hole in which the locking pin with its first area is rotatably immovable and with its second area slidably engages in the longitudinal direction. A structure according to claim 1 ensures a particularly simple and therefore reliable construction.

Protection from damage is provided by the outer area of the pincer joint, since the pincer handle and the pincer bracket at least partially delimit a space in the area of the joint, into which the locking pin can be pressed against the bias of the spring and the spring with its end remote from the locking pin a cover plate is assigned as an abutment, which closes the space to such an extent that protection against dirt, damage and / or loss of the spring results, so that the reliability and durability of the known gripping pliers is improved.

Springs such as a coil spring, a plate spring or an elastomer spring are possible for preloading and offer their specific advantages. Another embodiment of the present invention can also provide that a snap spring is assigned to the locking pin, which serves to pretension the locking pin and closes the space to the outside. With this arrangement, the sealing of the adjusting device is achieved to the outside, while the snap spring resilient over a dead center simultaneously takes over the pretensioning of the locking pin. This arrangement saves another component compared to the preloading by means of a spring, since the snap spring takes over the function of the spring and the cover plate in one piece.

Figure 1 shows a gripping pliers according to the invention as a so-called water pump pliers in a plan view. The gripping pliers comprise a pliers handle 1 and a pliers bracket 2, each of which is provided with a grip section 3 or 4. The pliers handle 1 and the pliers bracket 2 intersect in a joint 5, which comprises a locking pin 6 and an elongated locking hole 7. On the side of the joint 5 opposite the handle sections 3 and 4, the pliers handle 1 and the pliers bracket 2 each have a gripping jaw 9 or 10, which together form a pliers mouth.

The pliers handle 1 is provided in the region of the joint 5 with a slot running parallel to the plane of the drawing in the illustration according to FIG. 1, through which the pliers bracket 2 is inserted, so that the pliers handle 1 engages around the pliers bracket 2 in the region of the joint 5 on both sides.

The same components are provided with the same reference numbers. In the area of the joint 5, that which is not visible in FIG. 2 is visible Locking pin 6 covered by a cover plate 11.

The pliers handle 1 slotted in this area has a left area 1a and a right area 1b, which cannot be seen in FIG. 1 or FIG. 2. The clamp bracket 2 is inserted between the left side 1a and the right side 1b of the clamp handle 1. The locking hole 7 is, as shown in Figures 1 and 2, elongated from a series of several cylindrical bores, which partially overlap. The centers of the bores are offset from one another by less than one bore diameter, so that there is a free passage between the respective bores, but the width is limited. The locking pin 6 is designed as a one-piece, rotationally symmetrical rotating part and has an outer, dome-shaped pressure region 15 which points outwards from the pliers joint 5. From the pressure area 15, a cylindrical section of smaller diameter 16 passes through a bore 17 of corresponding diameter into the gripper part 1a. There increases the diameter 18, which is displaceably seated in the locking hole 7 and in a bore 19 of corresponding diameter in the pliers handle part 1b. The locking pin 6 with its end face opposite the pressure region 15 is approximately flush with the outer surface that surrounds the bore 19.

Als dem Raststift 6 gegenüberliegendes Widerlager für die Schraubenfeder 21 wirkt die Deckscheibe 11.A concentric blind hole 20 is introduced from the front side of larger diameter into the locking pin 6 and ends shortly before the pressure region 15. The blind hole 20 is provided for receiving a coil spring 21, the total has approximately the length of the locking pin 6. The helical spring 21 is laterally guided in the blind hole 20 in the installed position over approximately two thirds of its length, which results in great security against unintentional kinking of the helical spring 21. The cover plate 11 acts as an abutment for the helical spring 21 opposite the locking pin 6.

In dieser Stellung ist das Gelenk 5 in Längsrichtung des Rastloches 7 unverschieblich, wobei der Raststift 6 Lagerachse und Schwenkachse des Zangengelenks 5 bildet.FIG. 3 shows the pliers joint 5 and in particular the locking pin 6 in its engagement position, in which the region 18 of larger diameter engages in the cylindrical bores of the locking hole 7. In this position, the joint 5 is immovable in the longitudinal direction of the locking hole 7, the locking pin 6 forming the bearing axis and pivot axis of the pliers joint 5.

If the jaw width of the gripping pliers according to FIG. 1 and FIG. 2 is to be adjusted, the user of the gripping pliers can press on the pressure region 15 of the locking pin 6 and move it in the direction of the cover plate 11 against the force of the helical spring 21. As soon as the area 18 of larger diameter is pressed out of the pincer 2 and in particular out of the locking hole 7 of the pincer 2, the pliers handle 1 can be moved relative to the pincer 2 because the area 16 of smaller diameter also fits through the narrowed areas of the locking hole 7. As soon as the suitable new width is found, the locking pin 6 can be released and is pushed back into the locking or engagement position by the coil spring 21. This position is assumed as soon as a bore area of the locking hole 7 comes to coincide with the area 18 of larger diameter, the engagement being facilitated by a chamfer provided between the areas 16 and 18.

It can be seen from the drawing and the description that this gripper consists of only five components. In addition, the joint with the locking mechanism on the one hand by the locking pin 6 itself, on the other hand by the cover plate 11 on both sides, so that good protection against damage and contamination is guaranteed. Due to the possible use of components that are easy to manufacture, the production of a gripping tongs according to the invention is also inexpensive.

The locking pin (6) with its first sector (16) can slide longitudinally and with its second sector (18) can engage to rotate but not to slide in the locking aperture (7).
  4. Gripping pliers as per one of the previous Claims,
being characterised by the fact that:
A coil spring is provided as the spring (21), which is fitted at least in part into a bore (20) in the locking pin (6), which is parallel to its axis and and produced in the face side with the greater diameter (18).
  5. Gripping pliers, comprising a top leg (1) and a bottom leg (2) with a gripping-width adjustment and locking aperture (7), each leg having a handgrip (3, 4), and at the opposite end a jaw (9, 10), where:
    a) The top leg (1) and the bottom leg (2) are mounted in a bearing so that they may be pivoted around a pivoting axis in a joint (5), and the joint displays an acting position and an adjusting position.
    b) The top leg (1) is furnished with a slot in the region of the joint (5), through which the bottom leg (2) is inserted, so that the top leg (1) encloses the bottom leg (2) on both sides in the area of the joint (5).
    c) A manually movable adjusting element (6), movable in the direction of the pivoting axis against a spring (21), which comprises a locking pin intended to set the gripping position and the adjusting position, where the locking pin (6) forms the bearing axis of the joint (5) when the pliers are in the gripping position.
    d) the spring (21) is placed adjacent to the pivoting axis or roughly coaxial to the pivoting axis;
    e) The top leg (1) and the bottom leg (2) form the borders of a space in the region of the joint (5), into which the locking pin (6) may be pressed against the pressure exerted by the spring (21), and,
these being characterised by the fact that:
    f) The locking pin (6) displays a first section (16) of smaller diameter, which fits through a bore (17) of the appropriate diameter in the first part of the top leg (1a), and a second section (18) of a larger diameter, which fits and is able to slide in the adjustment and locking aperture (7) and in a bore (19) of the appropriate diameter in the second part of the top leg (1b), and,
    g) the spring is snap spring acting over a dead point, and this spring serves to pretension the locking pin (6) and closed the space to the outside.
