Definitions

  • the invention relates to a cylinder head arrangement of an internal combustion engine according to the Genus of the main claim.
  • Such a cylinder head arrangement is, for example, in EP 0 377 829 B1 described.
  • This is particularly useful after parking and when Restart of the internal combustion engine for immediate splash lubrication of the cams and the camshaft.
  • the oil channel for the lower camshaft in the installed position is thereby through the lower wall of the cylinder head base housing and the adjacent lower one Wall of the cylinder head cover formed.
  • Internal combustion engine gathers everything within the cylinder head assembly escaping lubricant in the lower area of the cylinder head arrangement.
  • the Oil return from the cylinder head to the oil pump or to the oil pan is consequently also arranged in the lower area of the internal combustion engine.
  • the Oil return from the cylinder head to the oil pump or to the oil pan is consequently also arranged in the lower area of the internal combustion engine.
  • the oil flow within the Improve cylinder head assembly is said to be an undamaged Return of the lubricant exiting within the cylinder head arrangement without or with the least possible wastage. At the same time Sufficient lubrication of the cams already when the internal combustion engine starts up be ensured.
  • This oil channel can be in a particularly advantageous manner in the case of very inclined or flat lying cylinder head arrangements by two-part training on one Cylinder head base housing and the cylinder head cover are formed. there can then the lower walls of the cylinder head base housing and the Form the cylinder head cover a channel or a channel for the returning oil.
  • the return flow of the lubricant exiting within the cylinder head assembly is also improved in a particularly advantageous manner if the lower Wall of the cylinder head assembly in the installed position of the internal combustion engine against the Horizontal is inclined. This creates a natural gradient, at the end of which a connection (return) to the oil reservoir of the internal combustion engine can be.
  • the housing elements of the cylinder head arrangement can be particularly advantageous Ways to be cast, if the oil channels start from the lower part of the cylinder head base housing or starting from the top of the Cylinder head cover have a flat bottom with raised edges.
  • a Such a flat design is particularly advantageous for the production of the casting mold and shaping the blank.
  • An internal combustion engine has a cylinder block, not shown mounted cylinder head assembly, the housing of three Housing components is composed, a cylinder head basic housing 1, a tappet housing 2 and a cylinder head cover 3. Die
  • the internal combustion engine is in the form of a cylinder bank a six-cylinder boxer engine with four valves per cylinder and two shown overhead camshafts.
  • the invention is also straightforward suitable for internal combustion engines in a V arrangement or for in-line engines that are flat or installed at an angle to the horizontal.
  • the cylinder head basic housing 1 has a lower part 4, in the inlet and outlet gas exchange channels 5, 6th are formed, each opening into a combustion chamber 7 of a cylinder.
  • the tappet housing 2 has below the upper camshaft (Inlet camshaft 11) per cam 29 an extension 30 in which one up open recess 31 is formed.
  • This recess is designed so that the rotating cams 29 in the lubricant accumulating in the recess 31 can immerse.
  • the operation of the internal combustion engine occurs in a manner known per se and Way to the bearing and located within the cylinder head assembly Lubrication points from lubricant and enters the interior 24. This storage and Lubrication points are, for example, in the area of the camshaft bearings (bearing blocks 14 to 17) and in the area of the guidance of the tappets 10, 12.
  • recess 31 forms an open top Tub, so that after switching off the internal combustion engine lubricant within the recess 31 remains. This lubricant is used when restarting the Internal combustion engine for immediate splash lubrication of the cams 29.
  • the lower wall 20 of the cylinder head base housing 1 has a first, from the lower part 4 outgoing section 38 into a second, deep-drawn section 39 transforms.
  • This second, deep-drawn section 39 extends to the flange level 21.
  • From the transition 40 of the first section 38 into the second section 39 of the bottom wall 20 go out three extensions 41, one analogous to the extensions 30 have flat bottom 42 and two raised edges 43, 44.
  • the extensions 41 protrude to the flange level 21 and thus extend together with the extensions 30 in the cylinder head cover each have one of the oil channels 34.
  • the edges 43, 44 are sufficient thereby up to the lower part 4 of the cylinder head base housing 1
  • Extensions 33 and 41 formed oil channel 34 forms an in the installed position Internal combustion engine open trough in which there is lubricant (oil) accumulates.
  • the oil channels formed in this way extend in this embodiment from the lower part 4 of the cylinder head base housing 1 to the top 32 of the Cylinder head cover 3.
  • the lubricant that collects in the oil channels 34 comes from predominantly from the guidance of the tappets 12.
  • the oil channels 34 are each so arranged that the tips of the cams 45 into the oil with each revolution immerse. For this purpose, these oil channels 34 are each between two neighboring ones Bearing blocks arranged that each cam 45 assigned to a cylinder immerse.
  • the lower wall 47 forms together with the adjacent part of the upper side 32 or the second section 39 of the wall 20 an oil channel 48, which is partially through the oil channel 34 on its upper side is covered. An undisturbed oil return of the inside can occur in this oil channel 48 the lubricant escaping from the cylinder head assembly to a lower one Form location (chain case 23) within the cylinder head arrangement.
  • the first section 38 of the wall 20 and the bottom 42 of the extension 41 are shown in FIG Installation position of the engine slightly inclined to the horizontal H, so that there is a natural slope to the cylinder head cover 3. This will ensured that in the area of the exhaust camshaft 13 or the cam 45 in Operation of the internal combustion engine sets a sufficient lubricant level, at the same time the oil volume located within the oil channel 34 is kept low.
