- a slot 49 is provided in the edge of the base 42 to engage a projection in the housing 9 to prevent rotation of the coil assembly relative to the housing and to allow the coil assembly to fit with the housing in only one orientation.
- Figure 5B is a partial sectional view of the housing 9, the circuit board 78 and the base 42 of the coil assembly, and the discharge vessel 1.
- the housing 9 has an internal cylindrical flange 50 which supports the base 42.
- the base is retained on the flange by wedges 51.

- a projection 52 ( Figure 5A) of the flange 50 engages the anti-rotation slot 49 ( Figure 4B) in the edge of the base 42.

- the lower lip 11 of the discharge vessel is formed with a radially ourward projection in the form of a bulge 64.
- the split ring 61 has a channel 63 which engages the bulge over an arc of approximately 180° around the vessel.
- the split ring 61 which has an opening 65 for receiving the vessel, is pushed on to the bulge 64.
- the vessel and split ring are then placed over the coil support, and the detents 62 pushed into the slots in the base 42 of the coil support.
- the base 42 is split along a radius 66. As the base is forced along the ratchet, the split, and thus the clip also, is compressed clamping the vessel in the clip.
- the coil assembly 6 has a base 42 which is supported by a resilient split ring 80.
- the outer circumference of the ring 80 engages the ratchet 60 on the housing.
- the base 42 is held in a groove in the inner circumference of the ring 80.
- the bulge 64 at the base of the vessel is engaged by a channel 83 above the base 42 in the ring 80.
- the circuit 78 is fixed to the base 42 by the slots 47. Further slots 81 are provided in the housing to prevent rotation of the board in the housing 9.
- the lamp may be made and sold separately from the energising circuitry comprising the energising circuit 7, 8 comprising the oscillator 7 and rectifier 8.
- the energising circuit 7, 8 may be housed separately from the discharge vessel and coil assembly.

Claims (15)
- Elektrodenlose Leuchtstofflampe enthaltend:einen Entladungsbehälter (1), der eine Füllung, die, wenn sie angeregt wird, eine Entladung aufrecht erhält, und wenigstens einen Leuchtstoffüberzug (2) auf der inneren Oberfläche auf dem Behälter enthält, wobei der Behälter einen zurückspringenden Abschnitt (3) aufweist; undeine Spulenvorrichtung enthaltend:einen Sockel (22, 32, 42), einen Kern (20, 30) aus magnetisch permeablem Material, der auf dem Sockel gehaltert ist, eine Spule (6, 21, 31), die um den Kern herum angeordnet ist, wobei die Spule und der Kern der Spulenvorrichtung in dem zurückspringenden Abschnitt der Behälters untergebracht sind, undeine Vorrichtung ( 22, 23, 33, 34, 43, 44) zum Haltern des Kerns auf dem Sockel, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Halterungsvorrichtung eine Klemmanordnung aufweist, die an dem Kern angreift.
- Lampe nach Anspruch 1, wobei die Halterungsvorrichtung einstückig mit dem Sockel ist.
- Lampe nach Anspruch 1 oder 2, wobei die Halterungsvorrichtung wenigstens zwei Finger (43) aufweist, zwischen denen der Kern angeordnet ist, wobei die Finger entsprechende seitliche Vorsprünge (44) haben, die an dem vom Sockel entfernten Ende des Kerns angreifen.
- Lampe nach Anspruch 1 oder 2, wobei der Kern hohl ist und die Halterungsvorrichtung wenigstens zwei Finger (23) aufweist, die sich durch den Kern erstrecken, wobei die Finger entsprechende seitliche Vorsprünge (24) haben, die an dem vom Sockel entfernten Ende des Kerns angreifen.
- Lampe nach Anspruch 1, 2 oder 4, wobei die Spule direkt auf den Kern gewickelt ist.
- Lampe nach Anspruch 1 oder 2, wobei die Halterungsvorrichtung auch ein Spulenformer (34) ist, in dem der Kern angeordnet ist, die Spule auf den Spulenformer gewickelt ist und der Kern in dem Former durch einen Sprengring (33) in dem Former gehalten ist.
- Lampe nach einem der vorstehenden Ansprüche, wobei ferner ein Gehäuse (9) vorgesehen ist, das die Spulenvorrichtung und den Entladungsbehälter haltert.
- Lampe nach einem der vorstehenden Ansprüche, wobei der Behälter direkt durch den Sockel der Spulenvorrichtung gehaltert ist.
- Lampe nach einem der vorstehenden Ansprüche, wobei der Sockel des Behälters einen radial äusseren Vorsprung (64) hat, der in einen Kanal (63) eingreift, der sich um den Sockel des Behälters herum erstreckt, wobei der Kanal in einer Klemme (61) gebildet ist, die an dem Sockel der Spulenvorrichtung befestigt ist.
- Lampe nach Anspruch 7, wobei ein Spaltring (80) vorgesehen ist, der sich um den Sockel des Behälters und um den Sokkel der Spulenvorrichtung herum erstreckt, wobei der Spaltring durch das Einsetzen in das Gehäuse zusammengedrückt wird, um den Sockel der Spulenvorrichtung und den Sockel des Behälters festzuklemmen.
- Lampe nach Anspruch 1, wobei die Halteklemmanordnung auch ein Spulenformer ist und einen ersten Satz von Fingern (43) mit seitlichen Vorsprüngen (44), die an dem Ende des Kerns angreifen, und weitere Finger (45) aufweist, auf denen sich Wicklungsführungen befinden.
- Lampe nach Anspruch 1, wobei ferner ein Schaltkartenhalter (47) auf der von dem Kern und der Spule entfernten Seite des Sockels vorgesehen ist.
- Lampe nach Anspruch 1, wobei ferner Schaltungsverbindungsstifte (26, 36) vorgesehen sind, mit denen die Spule verbunden ist, wobei die Stifte durch den Sockel getragen sind.
- Lampe nach Anspruch 1, wobei ferner Mittel (78) zum Speisen der Spule mit einem HF Signal vorgesehen sind.
- Lampe nach Anspruch 1, wobei die Klemmanordnung an der Basis durch Rastnasen (62) befestigt ist.
