Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a device for retaining a shoe on a gliding board. It relates more specifically to the field of snowboarding.
  • the user's feet are held together at a board in a substantially transverse position relative to the longitudinal direction of the board.
  • the boots Unlike alpine skiing, the boots must retain a certain flexibility to reasons of comfort and also driving the board. Indeed, the turns are taken in tilting the body to the front side called 'front side' or to the rear side called 'back side'. These mass transfers are accompanied by forward bending movements of the legs and / or on the side.
  • the leg is in rear support on a rigid part which must transmit this effort to the board. It is a part of the fixation which ensures this supporting role back.
  • the user takes body positions very laid down compared to the board. For this, he must be able to flex his legs to the side, that is to say in the longitudinal axis of the board.
  • the articulation is directed along a median longitudinal axis of the shoe to allow tilting on the side of the back support element when the surfer flexes laterally.
  • Italian document MI92A / 01238 presents a retaining device very similar to the the difference is that the joint is made by a rod mounted on a ball joint; back support being made by lateral traction straps.
  • a shoe comprises a sole and a collar articulated by a connecting means on an associated part secured to the sole.
  • the connecting means is a pivot whose axis is located in a substantially longitudinal plane of the shoe.
  • WO-A-97/32496 Another example is given by document WO-A-97/32496.
  • This document relates to a soft shoe called a boot.
  • the latter is formed by the association of a rod flexible and a rigid reinforcement frame.
  • the rigid frame of the boot includes a reinforcing lower part surrounding the heel, a reinforcing dorsal part surrounding the region back of the lower leg.
  • the two parts are connected by a narrowed portion which includes a stiffening means, the latter stiffening the portion only during lateral tilting reinforcement dorsal part of the outer side of the boot. So the frame of the boot brings internal lateral flexibility and external lateral support.
  • One of the aims of the invention is to provide a better compromise between a support for lateral flexion fixation and retention of sensations minimum control and support on the board.
  • a another aim is to promote the return to normal position of the rear support element after a significant bending to help the surfer quickly recover his equilibrium position.
  • Figure 1 is a rear perspective view of the inventive retainer.
  • Figure 2 is an exploded view illustrating the basic principle of operation of the invention.
  • Figure 3 illustrates a detail of the invention when the device is in position rest.
  • Figure 4 illustrates the same detail as that of Figure 3 when the device is subject to lateral tilting.
  • Figure 5 is a view similar to that of Figure 3 according to a variant.
  • Figure 6 is a view similar to that of Figure 3 according to another variant.
  • Figures 1 and 2 show a retaining device according to the invention having tightening straps for securing a shoe with flexible upper.
  • the device comprises a base 1 in the form of a plate for receiving the sole of a shoe. It breaks down into a peripheral part 10 and a fixed central disc 11 connected to the board by screws 110. The angular adjustment of the part 10 is made possible by loosening the screws and lifting the disc 11.
  • the peripheral part 10 is bordered on each side by lateral flanks 12, 13 which extend upwards to aid in the lateral holding of the shoe in the device.
  • the sides are connected by a tightening strap 80 of the forefoot.
  • Each strand of the strap 80 is fixed by a connecting means 800 of preferably removable such as a screw / nut through a hole belonging to a series of longitudinally spaced holes 14 to allow position adjustment depending on the shoe size.
  • the lateral flanks are interconnected by a heel support portion 2 in hoop shape.
  • the connection of this portion with the sides can be done according to a transverse hinge pin 9 so that the portion can pivot around this axis in the event of forward flexion of the lower leg.
  • the portion support 2 is limited in rear tilt on each side thanks to the flange 21 which is supported on a complementary flange 120 of the side.
  • a first position articulation is provided at the link 121.
  • a second offset position can be considered in 122. The latter can also be used to block the rotation of the portion 2 around the axis 9 by means of a pin, a screw or a rivet for example.
  • a back support element 3 extends the heel support portion upwards and is articulated on the heel support portion along an axis 90 contained substantially in the vertical median plane P of the base. It is understood that is also part of the framework of the invention, the case where the axis 90 makes an angle of a few degrees relative to the vertical median plane P; on the order of about 0 to 25 degrees.
  • the back support element 3 has a curved rear portion 31 for the wrapping of part of the calf and of the lower lateral legs 32, 33 which extend said rear portion forward and which are connected together by a means of tightening the instep 8.
  • the advantage of having the strap connected directly on the back element is to ensure a tightening of the instep which is relatively constant regardless of the lateral tilt position taken by the element when bending the leg.
  • a reminder means elastic 4 elastically opposes the inclination of the back support element 3 along the axis 90 on the lateral sides of the device during the tilting of the shoe.
  • the portion 2 comprises an upper part 22 which rises upwards and which is provided on its external face with a housing 20.
  • the back support element 3 comprises on its internal face a projection portion 30.
  • the projection portion 30 has a portion substantially cylindrical 300 through its center through a hole 302 for the passage of an articulation means 6 of axis 90.
  • the portion 30 takes position in the housing 20; the cylindrical part 300 adjusting against an arcuate portion in hollow of complementary shape 23.
  • the housing is provided with a hole 24 coaxial with the hole 302 for the passage of the articulation means 6.
  • the cylindrical part 300 of the projection portion extends radially by a tenon part 301 which takes position between two elastic elements 40, 41 housed in housing 20. These elements are compressible pads elastically preferably in elastomer.
  • the mounting of the back support element 3 on the part 22 is therefore done by fitting of the projection portion 30 projecting into the housing 20.
  • a external washer 60 is disposed against the external surface of element 3 and a means of the screw / nut type 6 ensures the connection of the parts to each other.
  • other connecting means can be envisaged such as a rivet for example.
  • Figures 3 and 4 show the operation of the device according to the invention.
  • the back support element is in the normal position, that is to say not inclined.
  • the back support element is inclined relative to the portion heel 2 so that the elastic element 40 is stressed in compression in the housing by the tenon portion 301 of the projection portion 30.
  • the elastic elements 40, 41 are elastomeric pads of identical hardness.
  • Figure 5 shows a variant where the pads 40, 41 are of hardness different.
  • the buffer 40 located on the internal side (INT) has a lower hardness than the buffer 41 located on the external side (EXT) of the device.
  • inner side is meant the side located on the inner side of the leg when mounting the device on the board.
  • the outer side is the side located on the outside of the leg.
  • a stop means 7 located on the side opposite to the side subjected to the elastic force of the elastic return means 4; said stop means serving limit or prevent the inclination on said opposite side of the back support element 3.
  • the stop means 7 is located on the external side (EXT) and the internal elastomeric pad (INT).
  • EXT external side
  • INT internal elastomeric pad
