Description

Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf einen flüssigkeitsgekühlten Zylinderkopf für eine mehrzylindrige Brennkraftmaschine gemaß dem Oberbegriff des Hauptanspruchs 1.
Aus der JP-A-56 148647 ist ein gattungsgemäßer Zylinderkopf einer Brennkraftmaschine bekannt, der einen zwischen Außenwänden, einem Zylinderkopfboden und einer Zylinderkopfdecke gebildeten, Kühlwasserraum aufweist, welcher in Richtung einer Längsachse des Zylinderkopfes vom Kühlwasser durchströmt wird. Was bedeutet, daß der Kühleffekt in Zylinderkopflängsrichtung stetig abnimmt. Dieses Temperaturgefälle in Zylinderkopflängsrichtung führt zu einer steigenden Belastung des Zylinderkopfes in dieser Richtung. An die Zylinderkopfdecke ist eine Rippe angeformt, die in Richtung des Zylinderkopfbodens in den Kühlwasserraum hineinragt und in Zylinderkopfquerachsenrichtung zwischen zwei Brennräumen angeordnet ist. Durch die Rippe wird das in Zylinderkopflängsachsenrichtung strömende Kühlwasser in Richtung des Zylinderkopfbodens in einen eher weniger temperaturbeanspruchten Bereich zwischen zwei Brennräumen umgelenkt.
Zum allgemeinen technischen Hintergrund wird noch auf die DE 24 52 999 A1, die US-PS 4 567 859, die DE 38 19 655 C1 und die DE 41 16 943 C1 verwiesen.
Es ist die Aufgabe der Erfindung einen Zylinderkopf derart auszubilden, daß eine ausreichende Kühlung aller kritischen Zonen innerhalb der brennraumseitigen Abschnitte des Zylinderkopfbodens gewährleistet ist.
Diese Aufgabe wird erfindungsgemäß durch die im Kennzeichen des Patentanspruchs 1 gegebenen Merkmale gelöst.
Ein Vorteil des erfindungsgemäßen flüssigkeitsgekühlten Zylinderkopfes liegt in der verbesserten Kühlung des Zylinderkopfbodens in den einzelnen jeweils einem Brennraum zugeordneten Kühlwasserraumabschnitten. Die an der Zylinderkopfdecke angeformten Rippen bilden Leitelemente durch die die Strömung des Kühlwassers in Richtung des Zylinderkopfbodens umgelenkt wird. Das Kühlwasser prallt zwischen Einlaß- und Auslaßkanal im Bereich der höchsten Brennraumtemperaturen auf dem Zylinderkopfboden auf. Der Kontakt der Kühlwasserströmung zum Zylinderkopfboden wird verbessert und erhöht dadurch den Wärmeübergang vom temperaturbeanspruchten Zylinderkopfboden zum Kühlwasser. Bedingt durch die Rippe ergibt sich eine Verringerung des Strömungsquerschnittes, was mit einer Erhöhung der Strömungsgeschwindigkeit an dieser Stelle verbunden ist und demzufolge den Kühleffekt an den gefährdeten Stellen am Zylinderkopfboden nochmals erhöht.
Die Zuordnung jeweils einer Rippe einem Kühlwasserraumabschnitt führt zu einer gleichmäßigen Kühlung aller brennraumseitigen Abschnitte des Zylinderkopfbodens und damit zur Vermeidung eines Temperaturgefälles in Zylinderkopflängsrichtung, wodurch die Belastung des Zylinderkopfes in dieser Richtung geringer ist.
Die Ausgestaltung der Erfindung nach Anspruch 2 ermöglicht eine gezielte Kühlung des zwischen den Ventilkanälen liegenden, höchst temperaturbeanspruchten zentralen Bereichs des brennraumseitigen Zylinderkopfbodenabschnitts.
Die Ausgestaltung der Erfindung nach den Ansprüchen 2 und 5 ermöglicht eine einfache Herstellung des Zylinderkopfes. Durch die symmetrische Ausbildung und die Trapezform der Rippe kann eine einfache Fertigung eines Gießkernes zur Herstellung des einteiligen als Gehäuse ausgebildeten Zylinderkopfes ermöglicht werden. Dies wird vorteilhafterweise dadurch unterstützt, daß die Rippen gleichmäßig zueinander beabstandet in Richtung einer Längsmittelebene des Brennraumes verteilt angeordnet sind. Ferner ermöglicht die Trapezform der Rippe eine Optimierung des Strömungswiderstandes.
Die Rippen gemäß der Ansprüche 3 und 4 bilden vorteilhafterweise Leitelemente, die die Strömungsrichtung des Kühlwassers beeinflussen, indem der den Kühlwasserraum durchströmende Kühlwasserstrom in Querrichtung auf die Mantelfläche der Rippe auftrifft und gezielt in Richtung des Zylinderkopfbodens umgelenkt wird.
Weitere Ausgestaltungen der Erfindung gehen aus der Beschreibung hervor.
Ein Ausführungsbeispiel der Erfindung ist im folgenden in zwei Zeichnungen mit weiteren Einzelheiten näher erläutert, und zwar zeigen:

Ein Zylinderkopf 1 für eine hier nicht näher dargestellte mehrzylindrige Brennkraftmaschine besteht aus einem einteiligen Gußstück mit einem Zylinderkopfboden 2 und den von diesem nach oben bis zu einer Deckeltrennebene 3, zur Auflage einer Zylinderkopfhaube, abführenden längsseitigen Außenwänden 4,5 und stirnseitigen Außenwänden 6,7.
Zusammen mit dem Zylinderkopfboden 2 umschließen die Außenwände 4 bis 7 einen Raum, der durch eine mit Abstand vom Zylinderkopfboden 2 angeordnete Zylinderkopfdecke 8 in einen Kühlwasserraum 9 und einen darüberliegenden bis zur Deckeltrennebene 3 reichenden Steuerraum 10 unterteilt ist.
Der Zylinderkopfboden 2 besitzt für jeden Zylinder einen als Vertiefung ausgestalteten Brennraum 11, welcher zwei Mündungsöffnungen 12, 13 pro Zylinder aufweist und zwei weitere in den Brennraum 11 führende Öffnungen 14, 15 von Kammern 16, 17 zur Aufnahme von Zündkerzen, Einspritzdüsen oder dergleichen. Von den Mündungsöffnungen 12, 13 gehen Ventilkanäle 18, 19 ab, welche den Kühlwasserraum 9 bis zu den längsseitigen Außenwänden 4, 5 durchsetzen. Der dabei von der Mündungsöffnung 12 zur Außenwand 4 abführende Ventilkanal 18 bildet den Einlaßkanal und der von der Mündungsöffnung 13 zur Außenwand 5 abführende Ventilkanal 19 bildet den Auslaßkanal. Die V-förmig zueinander stehenden Kammern 16, 17 durchsetzen den Kühlwasserraum 9 in Richtung zur Zylinderkopfdecke 8. Durch im Zylinderkopfboden 2 angeordnete Einlaßöffnungen 20, 22 strömt Kühlwasser in den Kühlwasserraum 9 ein. Das durch die Einlaßöffnung 20 einströmende Kühlwasser durchströmt den Kühlwasserraum 9 etwa in Richtung einer Querachse 21 des Zylinderkopfes 1. Anschließend strömt das Kühlwasser durch eine an der längsseitigen Außenwand 4 des Zylinderkopfes 1 angeordnete, hier nicht dargestellte Auslaßöffnung auf der Seite des Einlaßkanals 18 aus.
Zur Verbesserung der Kühlung des zentralen Bereichs der brennraumseitigen Zylinderkopfbodenabschnitte ist nun erfindungsgemäß an der Zylinderkopfdecke 8 eine Rippe 23 angeformt, die in Richtung des Zylinderkopfbodens 2, frei hängend im wesentlichen quer zur Kühlwasserströmung in den Kühlwasserraum 9 hineinragt. Das Kühlwasser trifft auf die Rippe 23 und wird gezielt in Richtung des Zylinderkopfbodens 2 in den stark temperaturbeanspruchten Bereich zwischen Einlaß- 18 und Auslaßkanal 19 umgelenkt. Bedingt durch den starken Aufprall des Kühlwassers auf dem Zylinderkopfboden 2 ergibt sich ein besserer Kontakt der Strömung zum Zylinderkopfboden 2 und demzufolge eine Erhöhung des Kühleffekts. Ferner ergibt sich durch die Rippe 23 eine Einengung des Strömungsquerschnittes, was mit einer Erhöhung der Strömungsgeschwindigkeit an dieser Stelle verbunden ist. Hierdurch wird insgesamt eine verbesserte Kühlung der einzelnen Zylinderkopfbereiche erzielt und damit insbesondere an den kühlungskritischen Bereichen zwischen den Kanälen am Zylinderkopfboden 2. Die Kühlwasserzufuhr in den Kühlwasserraum 9 hinein und innerhalb desselben ist in Fig. 1 mit Strömungspfeilen angedeutet.
Gemäß Fig. 2 gliedert sich der Kühlwasserraum 9 in gleiche Kühlwasserraumabschnitte 24, die jeweils einem der Brennräume 11 zugeordnet sind. Zwischen den einzelnen Kühlwasserraumabschnitten 24 der Zylinder erstrecken sich vom Zylinderkopfboden 2 bis zur Zylinderkopfdecke 8 reichende Z-förmige Stützwände 25. Die Zylinderkopfdecke 8 erstreckt sich von den stirnseitigen Außenwänden 6, 7 über die gesamte Breite des Zylinderkopfes 1. Dabei ist jedem Kühlwasserraumabschnitt 24 die Rippe 23 zugeordnet, die im Kühlwasserraum 9 in Richtung einer Längsmittelebene 26 des Brennraumes 11 angeordnet ist. Die Rippe 23 ist in etwa symmetrisch mittig in Verlängerung der Längsmittelebene 26 des Brennraumes 11 an der Zylinderkopfdecke 8 angeordnet. Die Höhe 27 der Rippe 23 entspricht mindestens der halben Höhe 28 des Kühlwasserraumes 9, die Länge 29 der Rippe 23 entspricht mindestens der halben Länge 30 des sich in Richtung der Längsmittelachse 31 erstreckenden Kühlwasserraumabschnittes 24 und die Breite 32 der Rippe 23 entspricht mindestens der halben Länge 33 des sich in Querrichtung 21 erstreckenden Kühlwasserraumabschnittes 24. Die Rippe 23 besitzt Trapezform, wobei die kurze Kante 34 freihängend in den Kühlwasserraum 9 hineinragt, wodurch eine gezielte Strömungsführung eines Teils der Kühlwasserströmung in Richtung des Zylinderkopfbodens 2 erreicht wird. Dadurch ist eine verbesserte Kühlung partieller Bereiche des Zylinderkopfbodens 2 ohne wesentliche Erhöhung des Strömungswiderstandes möglich.

Claims (5)

  1. Flüssigkeitsgekühlter Zylinderkopf für eine mehrzylindrige Brennkraftmaschine mit einem Kühlwasserraum, der von Außenwänden, einer mit Abstand über diesem angeordneten Zylinderkopfdekke und einem Zylinderkopfboden begrenzt wird, der für jeden Zylinder einen Brennraum aufweist, und mit mindestens einem sich zwischen Zylinderkopfdecke und Zylinderkopfboden im Kühlwasserraum erstreckenden Strömungsleitelement, das als Rippe ausgebildet ist, welche an der Zylinderkopfdecke angeformt ist und in Richtung des Zylinderkopfbodens, frei hängend im wesentlichen quer zur Kühlwasserströmung, in den Kühlwasserraum hineinragt,
    dadurch gekennzeichnet,
    daß der Kühlwasserraum (9) sich in Kühlwasserraumabschnitte (24) gliedert, die etwa in Richtung einer Querachse (21) des Zylinderkopfes (1) durchströmt werden, wobei jedem Kühlwasserraumabschnitt (24) eine Rippe (23) zugeordnet ist, welche im Kühlwasserraum (9) in Richtung einer Längsmittelebene (26) des Brennraumes (11) angeordnet ist und das Kühlwasser in Richtung des Zylinderkopfbodens (2) in einen Bereich zwischen Einlaßkanal (18) und Auslaßkanal (19) umlenkt.
  2. Flüssigkeitsgekühlter Zylinderkopf nach Anspruch 1,
    dadurch gekennzeichnet,
    daß die Rippe (23) in etwa symmetrisch mittig in Verlängerung der Längsmittelebene (26) des Brennraumes (11) angeordnet ist.
  3. Flüssigkeitsgekühlter Zylinderkopf nach Anspruch 1 oder 2,
    dadurch gekennzeichnet,
    daß die Höhe (27) der Rippe (23) mindestens der halben Höhe (28) des Kühlwasserraumes (9) entspricht.
  4. Flüssigkeitsgekühlter Zylinderkopf nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche,
    dadurch gekennzeichnet,
    daß die Länge (29) der Rippe (23) mindestens der halben Länge (30) des sich in Richtung der Längsmittelachse (31) erstreckenden Kühlwasserraumabschnittes (24) entspricht.
  5. Flüssigkeitsgekühlter Zylinderkopf nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche,
    dadurch gekennzeichnet,
    daß die Rippe (23) Trapezform besitzt, wobei die kurze Kante (34) freihängend in den Kühlwasserraum (9) hineinragt.
