Definitions
- the invention relates to a base assembly with integrated crutches and flexible temporary road sign.
- Such an assembly is intended to be used in particular in the road industry field to temporarily report road users either a danger or a prescription absolute to be respected, an indication resulting from the presence of a work site or any other restriction brought to traffic as part of the instructions ministerial on temporary signage vertical.
- the assembly forming the subject of the present invention comprises on the one hand a base or base consisting of a lower plate rectangular section surmounted by a section tray isosceles trapezoid which is integral with it and forms two crutches molded in its mass, crossed on all its height by a transverse axial grooved sleeve, and at least be a flexible plastic panel, the integrated foot is suitable for being housed in the sheath of the basement.
- the object of this device is to replace practice which consists of stabilizing traffic signs temporary metal crutch using various additional weights placed astride their legs: sandbags, stones, rubble stones, planks etc ... whose appearance is unsightly, these panels being other hand installed on the ground in an inclined position due to their design and can be dangerous in case of overturning by a vehicle or by a gust of wind. These panels being metallic, they have sharp projections and dangerous joints for their handling.
- German patent DE - U - 85 35 843 and the British patent GB - A - 2 261 000 provide also a solution, but for ballasting of poles or construction barriers.
- the base assembly and panel according to the invention is constituted by a base with integrated crutches formed by two superimposed trays of different section and length but of the same width, molded together in recycled rubber material to make them united.
- the lower plate is a parallelepiped rectangle with square or rectangular base and called lower rectangular section shelf in this below
- the upper plate has a trapezoidal section isosceles whose lower base, square or rectangular, is in contact and secured to the upper base of the lower plate whose length is greater to the length of the lower base of the tray trapezoidal so as to obtain a projection of the same width at the two ends of the lower plate; the width of two projections is calculated so that their sum is equal to the length of the upper base of the tray trapezoidal measured in the same direction, for reasons of empty storage of bases.
- this conception of the base allows pyramid storage of a certain number plinths on their lower base lengthwise so that the juxtaposition of two projections allows place the upper base of another stored base in the inverted position as shown in FIG. 5 commented below.
- the end projections can each form in their central part a handful of gripping at the front and back of the base, by a recess under and against the end projection. These two handles make it easier to handle the base and they have a notch against their outer edge for the reasons developed below.
- the height of the two shelves can be different and generally the height of the upper sectional table isosceles trapezoid is slightly larger than that of the lower tray with rectangular section because it can be related to the dimensions of the panel to be anchored.
- the front and rear of the base correspond respectively to the front and rear of the panel as it is drawn on commented figure 1 below, the length of the two plates forming the base is measured along their longitudinal axis between their front and rear materialized by the projections of extremity.
- the vertical transverse axis of the two integral plates must coincide so as to obtain a vertical transverse axis common, i.e. perpendicular to both sides vertical sides of the base so as to spare it on any its height a vertical axial sheath, generally rectangular, which is bottomless for easy evacuation rainwater and small stones that could get into it; this sheath is capable of forming the seat the lower part, generally also rectangular, at the bottom of the panel as described below, it being understood that the length of the opening of the sheath is less than the width of the base.
- a panel of large dimensions cut for example from a polycarbonate sheet with a thickness of 6 mm bends too much as the fast trucks on highways as a result of relocation significant air.
- a simple way to make such less flexible panel consists in providing it at the back along its vertical axis, over its entire height including his foot, with a first elongated reinforcement plate in plastic or light metal material fixed by gluing, or by welding or by mechanical means such as screwing or bolting, or by molding if the panel and its foot by plastic injection. If necessary, a first reinforcement plate is also provided at the front of the panel foot along its vertical axis up to the lower limit of the corresponding symbol at the base of the panel.
- This reinforcement requires taking care of the two sheath walls a first vertical central groove whose cross section corresponds to the cross section right of the first elongated reinforcement plate which is the same for the front and back of the panel and its integrated foot.
- the cross section of the sheath thus formed corresponds so in the cross section of the bottom of the foot the panel and its first reinforcement plates, introduction into the rubber base by simple pressure is made possible by the elasticity of the base which also allows the removal of the panel, the forces of friction being sufficient to brake disassembly untimely of the whole.
- the vertical outer edge of the grips already mentioned on the base must be a slightly set back from the outer edge of the base for more easily drain rainwater seeping into the vertical bottomless sheath of said base when two bases are stored flat edge to edge and are topped an inverted base, the sheath then being in the extension of the junction of the two edges.
- the notch already cited above is therefore necessary, and useful for promoting manual lifting of the same pedestals stored on board on board the side of their projections.
- a so-called central recess is provided at front and rear of the base, delimited by the rib transverse central, two ribs perpendicular to it arranged symmetrically to the longitudinal axis transverse of the base, and a grip handle of the base.
- the inclined cover of this obviously is deleted and replaced by a square tablet or rectangular for use as a battery holder fixed horizontally by molding against these three ribs.
- the battery holder is placed either above the ground, for example at the grip of the base facing it, either on the lower level of the base, and it can serve as a counter handle on the base for its lifting when he returned.
- the fourth side of this support is provided with or without a rim so as to wedge the battery, this rim must be at a distance from the handle so that it is possible to pass a hand between the two elements; rainwater is evacuated by a notch open in this ledge.
- the handle of the base is used as an edge, spaced from the edge of the battery holder.
- the pyramid storage system described above can sometimes be replaced by flat, stacked storage, to transport reasons, especially in a narrow vehicle or on a pallet. Also, it is essential that the plinths don't slide over each other either transversely, either laterally, in the event of sudden braking of the vehicle for example; they must therefore include means wedging above and below in their central part which is the narrowest.
- These means are made up by two so-called upper-molded rails on the upper base of the trapezoidal cross section upper plate isosceles, over the entire width of this base and symmetrically with respect to the vertical transverse axis of the basement. The ends of the rails have a shoulder interior not joined so as to wedge transversely the upper plinth and to evacuate rainwater when the panel is in place, these waters can also be also evacuated by cuts made in the cross rails.
- a hollow parallelepiped is thus obtained capable of wedging two so-called lower rails of square or rectangular section, parallel, of the same thickness as the upper rails, molded in the mass under the central rib of the base symmetrically with respect to the vertical transverse axis, and shorter than the top rails, closed also by an internal shoulder at each end.
- the interior spacing of the upper rails must coincide with the outer spacing of the lower rails of a in such a way that when two bases are superimposed, the bottom rails can cooperate in a detached way ble with the top rails, i.e. with a slight play, and thus remove any slippage.
- the molding projecting from the lower rails resulting in a imbalance of the base this is compensated by molding, in particular under the ends of the base, small studs of known type, of the same thickness as the rails, this combination of means also preventing sliding of the base On the ground.
- the first solution is to flare your foot up to panel symbol from the top surface of the base so that this flare forms a stop on the base.
- the second solution which also reduces the taken in the wind of the set in place, consists of partially replace the flare at the bottom of the panel off base by a gradual narrowing having its origin at the upper surface of the base and is extending substantially to its mid-height, followed by a flare up to the symbol at the bottom of the panel when it is triangular or rectangular.
- This design also further facilitates manual extraction the panel of its base and saves the material plastic constituting the panel.
- this second conception entails the obligation to provide a wedge heel on each side of the foot of the panel at the birth of narrowing at the top surface the base, i.e. at the base of the upper part not retractable from the foot of the panel.
- These two heels each consists of a small enlargement of the foot the panel at this level to prevent the foot from sinking beyond the lower level of the base, and they allow also better lateral wedging of the panel; they adapt also at the foot of the panel in its first design.
- a third V-shaped opening is made in the retractable lower part of the panel foot to also facilitate the handling of the panel, in particular for its storage on edge in the rack transport vehicles and for its suspension in stores; this third opening is called a handle of suspension in the following.
- the invention has the advantage of overcoming certain drawbacks observed by involving a structure flexible panel providing less resistance to air movement and great ease of installation since only two elements are to be manipulated, using flexibility properties of plastic relatively flexible and recyclable.
- the set is easy to store and handle thanks to its multiple handles.
- the relative lightness of traffic signs thus obtained and the high density of the constituent material the base allow to lower considerably the center of gravity of the whole and therefore to focus its weight practically at ground level hence its great stability.
- the polished substrate of the panels is particularly suitable for receiving the symbol film.
- Figure 1 shows a perspective view of an assembly integrated crutch base with triangular panel of danger put in place.
- Figure 2 shows a vertical longitudinal section of the base at a scale of 1/5, made at its axis.
- Figure 3 shows a vertical longitudinal section from the base on the same scale, made at the level of the lights, that is to say substantially 1/5 of the width of the base.
- Figure 4 shows a perspective view of a panel out of its base, with fully flared foot.
- Figure 5 shows on a scale of 1 / 12.5 a view of face of an example of pyramid storage of bases justifying the difference in length between the lower shelf rectangular section and the top plate at trapezoidal section constituting the base.
- the base is constituted by a lower plate square 1 with rectangular section of 600 mm side and 80 mm high, partially hollow. It is overcome by an upper plate 2, also partially hollow, isosceles trapezoidal section with base length lower measures 480 mm, the length of the upper base measures 120 mm, and a height of 100 mm.
- the width between its two vertical sides is 600 mm and coincides so with the width of the lower plate 1, but its length 480 mm is 120 mm less than the length of the lower plate 1 so as to leave a projection free end 3 60 mm wide front and rear of the base, and the sum of 120 mm corresponds to the length of upper base of upper plate 2 to isosceles trapezoidal section, this design allowing store the bases without wasting space as shown Figure 5.
- a grip handle 4 is open at the front and at the back of the base and designed to leave in front of it a vacuum of 160 x 50 mm while the handle has a 160 mm length in the extension of the end projection, a height of 40 mm and a width of 50 mm leaving free a notch 5 10 mm thick made in its outer face.
- a vertical bottomless rectangular sleeve 6 crosses the base thus formed from top to bottom in coincidence with the vertical transverse axis of said base. Its height is therefore equal to the cumulative height of the two trays 1 and 2, i.e. 180 mm.
- the length of the opening of this sheath 6 is 450 mm, its width is 6 mm and it includes in its front and rear walls a first central groove vertical 7 bottomless with a cross section of 200 x 8 mm which has a second vertical central groove 8 bottomless with a cross section of 100 x 8 mm.
- Lightening recesses 9 in the form of prism trunks rectangular section rights are practiced from below inside the base only under its inclined cover 10 with an average thickness of 25 mm and they are separated by vertical ribs 11 25 mm thick, of which the orthogonal location is indicated by lines interrupted ends in Figure 1 and is best seen on Figure 3 for the transverse ribs.
- the walls vertical sides of the base are formed by the same ribs which are then longitudinal.
- the transverse central rib 12 has a width 120 mm which corresponds to the length of the upper base of the upper plate 2 with isosceles trapezoidal section. But the width of this central rib can be more reduced so as to possibly extend the recesses relief 9 under the horizontal cover. Eight lightening recesses 9 are provided.
- two wedging rails are molded in the mass so-called upper 14 15 mm wide at the top and 10 mm thick with a 90 mm spacing partially closed at both ends by two interior shoulders 15 40 mm wide, so as to form a parallelepiped 520 x 90 x 10 mm hollow rectangle.
- each side of the vertical sleeve 6 are also molded projecting two so-called lower wedging rails 16, not visible in FIG. 1, 518 mm long, 25 mm wide and 10 mm thick with a 38 mm spacing corresponding to the cross section of 38 mm from the sleeve 6 and its four grooves 7 and 8 and thus having an external spacing of 88 mm, with a 2 mm clearance from the 90 mm interior spacing top rails 14.
- Unreferenced crampons are molded under the ends of the base, 10 mm high corresponding to the thickness lower wedging rails 16.
- the base has in its longitudinal axial part, in front of each grip 4, of each side of the transverse central rib 12, a prism-shaped opening with rectangular base 180 x 160 mm, 80 mm high on the side of the projections end 3 of the base and 180 mm on the side of the transverse central rib 12, to be able to mold a battery holder 17 against the longitudinal ribs arranged symmetrically to the longitudinal axis vertical of the base made visible.
- Figure 2 shows more precisely the structure of this 160 x 130 support x 20 mm leaving a 50 mm empty space in front each handle. This support is provided with a wedge rim 18 of the battery with a central indentation.
- a lateral handling notch (19) is provided in the middle of the lower part on each vertical side of the base and has the shape of a parallelepiped hollow rectangle of 100 x 30 x 30 mm.
- the flexible danger panel 20 shown in FIG. 1 and installed on its base is cut with its integrated foot 21 in a 6 mm thick polycarbonate plate, transparent for a better understanding of the drawing, and deprived for the same reason of plates of elongated reinforcements but which are visible in FIG. 4; the panel thus cut is provided with two handles grip 22 of 90 x 30 mm.
- the width of the panel is 1000 mm, the height of his foot is limited to 360 mm to stay within the limits of the drawing; the bottom part of foot 21 of panel 20 has a surface 448 x 180 mm rectangular retractable in the sleeve vertical 6 bottomless with rectangular outline is shown in Figure 1 by a broken line strong.
- This retractable lower part of the panel foot is widened on each side by a wedge heel 23 50 mm long, at the top surface of the base.
- the upper part of the foot not retractable therefore also measures 180 mm in height and first presents 24 progressive narrowing from each end wedging heel 23 of panel 20, followed by a flare 25 to the base of the panel, i.e. to the lower limit of the symbol.
- the flexible danger sign shown in Figure 4 which is out of its base, is also cut out with its foot integrated 21 into a 6 mm polycarbonate sheet thick; the upper part of the foot 21 not retractable in the sleeve 6 of the base also measures 180 mm height and has a flare without narrowing 26 to from the upper surface of the base to the limit bottom of the symbol.
- the retractable lower part the foot of the panel has the same dimensions as those of the panel described above, but its section central right is increased to 200 x 22 mm taking into account the thickness of the first elongated reinforcing plates front 27 and rear 28 cut from polycarbonate sheet 8 mm.
- the part upper flared without narrowing 26 of her foot is also provided with two grips 22 but its retractable lower part in the sleeve 6 is provided with a third handle which is the hanging handle 29 in the shape of a V under a rectangle of 90 x 30 mm.
- Panels and their integrated legs can be manufactured either by injection of a thermosetting plastic and more specifically in polyester, see even in materials composites, either by laser or jet cutting water from sheets extruded in thermoplastic resins and more specifically polycarbonate sheets, preferably recycling, deemed flexible, unbreakable and self-extinguishing.
- the bases they are achievable by molding of an agglomerate of recovered rubber particles bonded with a polyurethane adhesive or by an elastomer, the rubber particles coming from including tires and electrical cables or shredded telecommunications.
