    Claims (17)

    1. Apparatus for conveying packs (10) in conjunction with a packaging machine and for transferring the packs (10) from a first turret, e.g. a folding turret (11), to a second turret, e.g. a drying turret (12), the packs (10) being received in pack holders (16), designed as pockets, and being transported by these, the first turret (11) and the second turret (12) being arranged in an axis-parallel manner in relation to one another and also being arranged in planes which are offset in the axial direction, characterized by the following features:
      a) the first and the second turrets are not arranged concentrically with one another,
      b) the pockets (16) are pockets of a transfer turret (15) which is arranged in an axis-parallel manner between the two turrets (11, 12), the packs (10) being transferred from the first turret (11) to the pockets (16) of the transfer turret (15), and from said pockets (16) to the second turret (12),
      c) the pockets (16) of the transfer turret (15) can be moved in the axis-parallel direction, and thus along a helical movement path, during the rotary movement of said transfer turret.
    2. Apparatus according to Claim 1, characterized in that the transfer turret (15) rotates continuously, and in that the pockets (16) can be displaced in the axial direction on the circumference of the transfer turret (15).
    3. Apparatus according to Claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the packs (10) can be introduced into open pockets (16) in the radial or tangential direction and, by way of these pockets, perform a helical movement along a virtually semicircular path.
    4. Apparatus according to Claim 1 or one of the further claims, characterized by the following features:

Apparatus according to Claim 1 or one of the further claims, characterized in that the pockets (16) of the transfer turret (15) are each fastened on carriers, in particular on carrying rods (28), which can be moved back and forth in the axis-parallel direction, carrying rod (28) and pocket (16) rotating about a central turret axis during the displacement in the axial direction.

Apparatus according to Claim 1 or one of the further claims, characterized in that the axis-parallel movement of the packs (10) or of the pockets (16) is effected by at least one fixed curve path or control groove (30), on which or in which, respectively, sensing members, in particular sensing rollers (31), which are connected to the pocket (16) or the carrying rod (28) run during rotation of the transfer turret (15).
    7. Apparatus according to Claim 5 or one of the further claims, characterized in that the carrying rods (28) are mounted displaceably in common retaining means which can be rotated with the transfer turret (15), in particular in a carrying body (29) on a central turret shaft (33).

Apparatus according to Claim 5 or one of the further claims, characterized in that the carrying rods (28) are supported at least at one end, preferably by a supporting roller (70) at least at the free end of the carrying rod (28) adjacent to the pocket (16), the supporting roller (70) being supported on a fixed supporting path (71) against radially outwardly directed forces.
    9. Apparatus according to Claim 6, characterized in that each pocket (16) or each carrying rod (28) is connected to a carriage (34) which can be displaced in a sliding manner on guides, in particular guide rods (35, 36), the sensing rollers (31) being fitted on the carriage (34) and passing into the control groove (30) of an outer, cylindrical housing (32) in the form of a pot.
    10. Apparatus according to Claim 9, characterized in that the guide rods (35, 36) for the carriages (34) are fastened on the carrying body (29), on the one hand, and on a retaining disc (37) which is arranged at a distance parallel thereto, on the other hand, and in that carrying body (29) and retaining disc (37) are mounted on the shaft (33) of the transfer turret (15).
    11. Apparatus according to Claim 5 or one of the further claims, characterized in that the pockets (16) are fastened in a laterally offset manner, namely in a radially outwardly directed manner, on the carrying rods (28), preferably by connecting webs (57) which partially enclose the connecting rods laterally.
    12. Apparatus according to Claim 1 or one of the further claims, characterized in that pocket walls (20, 21) of the pockets (16) are mounted such that they can be moved transversely, in particular such that they can be pivoted, for the purposes of opening and closing the pockets (16), each pocket wall (20, 21) being mounted on a rotary shaft (38, 39) which can be actuated, for the purposes of opening and closing the pocket walls (20, 21), by running rollers (42, 43) which run on fixed control segments (44, 45) in the opening region of the pockets (16).

Apparatus according to Claim 12 or one of the further claims, characterized in that, in the region of the transfer of packs (10) from one turret to another turret, the pockets (16) can be moved only in the direction of rotation of the transfer turret (15), without axial displacement, in particular in the region of the control segments (44, 45).

Apparatus according to Claim 14, characterized in that the connecting webs (57) for connecting the pockets (16) to the carrying rods (28) have a preferably cross-sectionally U-shaped recess (58) into which the carrying rod (28) passes by means of at least a sub-region of the cross section, the flattened portion (65) of the carrying rod (28) resting against a corresponding inner surface (66) of the recess (58).
