Claims (6)

  1. A sub-ridge tile of variable transverse bare, consisting of:
    a part (2) known as a drain part, forming a water-runoff zone,
    a convex part (1) known as a covering part, juxtapositional to the drain part (2),
    a part (3) forming an enclosing portion extending transversely within the extension of an end, known as the high end, of the drain part (2) and covering part (1) and comprising an upper surface for supporting a ridge tile,
    and means (7-11) of assembly and sealing for fitting together with sub-ridge tiles in the same course and overlapping tiles in the course below,
    the said sub-ridge tile being characterised in that the part forming an enclosing portion (3) extends over the whole width of the said tile and comprises:
    within the extension of the covering part (1), a wall (12, 14) known as a covering wall having a planar upper surface (14) for supporting a ridge tile, substantially coplanar with the upper generatrix of the said covering part (1),
    within the extension of the drain part (2), a wall (13, 15) known as a drain wall, extending in superelevation relative to the said drain part and consisting of an inferior surface having at least one portion of planar surface for support on frame members (18), such as battens,
    the said covering walls and drain walls respectively having twinned lower and upper surfaces which are suitable for allowing the covering wall (12, 14) of a sub-ridge tile to slide transversely over the upper surface of the drain wall (13, 15) of an adjacent sub-ridge tile so as to achieve overlapping of the said drain wall over an adjustable portion of its width,
    the said drain wall comprising, near its longitudinal edge opposite the covering wall (12, 14), a longitudinal groove (19) disposed within its upper surface, for collecting water,
    and the said covering walls and drain walls comprising, the length of their transverse upper edge, a sealing ledge (21) projecting relative to the upper surfaces of the said walls, disposed so as to obtain a frontal juxtaposition of the portion (21a) of the ledge delimiting the covering wall (12, 14) and that (21b) delimiting the drain wall (13, 15) in the overlapping position of two adjacent sub-ridge tiles.
  2. A sub-ridge tile according to Claim 1, characterised in that the covering walls (12, 14) and drain walls (13, 15) of the enclosing portion (3) are each dihedral in shape longitudinally, delimited by a transverse ridge and composed of an inclined panel (12, 13) linking with the corresponding covering part (1) and drain part (2), and of a support panel (14, 15) substantially parallel to the plane of the tile:
    the inclined panel (12) of the dihedral forming the covering wall having a cutout portion (17), the shape of which is twinned by the covering part (1), facing the latter,
    the inclined panels (12, 13) and support panels (14, 15) of the two dihedrals forming the covering walls and drain walls being separated by a longitudinal shoulder (16) suitable for the covering wall to be able transversely to overlap the drain wall.
  3. A sub-ridge tile according to Claim 2, characterised in that the sealing ledge (21) has a kink (22) at a distance from the longitudinal edge of the support panel (14) of the covering wall of the enclosing portion (3) opposite the drain wall (13, 15) of the said enclosing portion, suitable for the said covering wall to be able transversely to overlap the drain wall without producing discontinuity of the said sealing ledge.
  4. A sub-ridge tile according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the drain wall (13, 15) of the enclosing portion (3) consists of an upper surface having horizontally-spaced longitudinal grooves (20) distributed between the covering wall (12, 14) of the said enclosing portion and the groove (19) for collecting percolating water.
  5. A sub-ridge tile according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the drain part (2) comprises:
    a longitudinal ledge (9) facing its lateral edge opposite the covering part (1),
    at least one longitudinal rib (10, 11) delimiting, together with the longitudinal ledge (9), a water runoff channel within the extension of the groove (19) of the drain wall (13, 15) of the enclosing portion (3), and suitable for forming a transverse stop for the covering part (1) of a tile in the same course, in the minimal transverse overlapping position of the said tile.
  6. A sub-ridge tile according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the covering part (1) consists of two longitudinal sections (4, 5) separated by a transverse shoulder (6) suitable for the upper section (4) to be upwardly offset relative to the lower section (5).
