Definitions
- the invention relates to an applicator assembly for a liquid or viscous product found in the fields of cosmetics, paints and glues.
- the product can be a varnish composition nail polish or a nail care composition.
- a set of nail polish application includes a reservoir for the product to be applied and an applicator of said product, such as a brush comprising a tuft of hairs, attached to a first end of a rod, the rod being fixed by its other end in a cap intended to close the tank, so the tuft of hair is submerged in this product when the whole application is closed.
- an applicator of said product such as a brush comprising a tuft of hairs, attached to a first end of a rod, the rod being fixed by its other end in a cap intended to close the tank, so the tuft of hair is submerged in this product when the whole application is closed.
- the tank has a neck provided with a first thread which cooperates with a second thread provided in the cap.
- the neck is generally thick and flat, and fitted with a sealing ring.
- the rod is held in the cap via a support which includes a tray sealing. This sealing plate is in contact with the sealing ring of the neck when the application assembly is closed.
- the thread is formed over the entire height of the neck and is flush with the upper end of the neck.
- the applicator member is removed from the reservoir. is impregnated with product.
- the brush contains an excess of product. It is therefore necessary to proceed with the elimination of this excess product. and for this, the user spins the brush by wiping it on the end of the neck of the tank.
- the end of the neck being flat and thick and constituting a span, of the product will remain on the neck and flow along the external wall of the neck and thus soil the thread of the neck.
- you screw the cap back on to close the tank the product then spreads on the neck and in the thread. The product thus forms a fouling after drying of the cap-neck assembly. When next use, it is difficult, if not impossible, to unscrew the tank cap.
- the product on the neck does not allows more good sealing of the application assembly because the tray seal is no longer in leaktight contact with the neck seal ring.
- the tray does not more perfectly the relief of the end of the neck, when the latter is soiled after the first use, which further reduces the seal.
- the document FR-A-1 566 737 describes a bottle, intended to contain a sticky liquid, such as a varnish, closed by screwing with a plug.
- the bottle consists of a container whose neck is placed inside a cone, so that the cap, once screwed does not come into contact with the upper part and the side part of the bottle.
- Two gutters are provided on the cone to retain the drops of product which could flow along the cone and stick the screwed part.
- the thread intended to ensure the fixing of the stopper on the bottle, is on the upper part of the body of the container, near the base of the cone.
- the container ends in the shape of a truncated cone, the neck found placed inside the cone
- patent CH-C-535,167 proposes extend the orifice of the neck by a tube having a flat end and thick.
- a tube having a flat end and thick When the cap is screwed onto the bottle, there is a space between the side wall of the cap and the wall of the tubing preventing excess product soil the thread of the neck.
- the neck thread may still be soiled with product.
- a deposit of product is formed after each spin, resulting in a decrease in tightness.
- the present invention therefore aims to remedy the drawbacks mentioned above.
- the object of the present invention is, in particular, to provide a set of applications which allows better wringing of the application member while avoiding soiling the tank neck. It also aims to propose means allowing ensure good sealing of the application assembly.
- the present invention therefore relates to a set of application of a product liquid or viscous, comprising a reservoir, surmounted by a neck and a cap carrying an application member which, in the closed position of the assembly, is immersed in the product contained in this tank, said neck comprising a base and an upper end forming a free edge, a sealing plate deformable being disposed inside the cap, said cap being provided a thread, characterized in that said neck comprises a thread capable of cooperating with the thread of the cap, and ends with a cylindrical portion whose free edge alone forms a sharp edge, said sharp edge being in the closed position of the assembly, capable of coming into engagement with the sealing plate of so as to deform the latter and form a seal in the deformation zone, the upper end of the neck being free of range.
- Said sharp edge makes it possible to wring out the application member well.
- all of the excess product drained flows into the space internal tank. This prevents any flow of product along the outer wall of the neck and therefore avoids soiling the latter.
- cap any element capable of holding the applicator member in the tank, without the latter hermetically closing the tank.
- the application set according to the invention may be suitable for the application of any other product liquid or viscous, and in particular paints, especially paints for models and drawings, and glues.
- the upper end of the neck can be provided with a first edge and at least a second edge, the first edge being at a higher level to that of the second edge, relative to the X axis.
- the profile of the upper end of the neck according to the invention can be produced on the whole of said end or only over a part. In this last case, the applicator member is wrung out only on the profiled part of the neck.
- the edge is sharp (that is to say defined by the intersection of two planes).
- said first edge is defined by the intersection of two planes forming an acute angle.
- the neck has at least one thread located on the base.
- the cap has a sealing plate.
- the end profile upper neck ensures better contact with the sealing plate of the cap, and therefore improves the overall tightness of the application assembly.
- the projecting edge of the neck allows easy deformation of the plate sealing after screwing on the cap, deformation allowing to maintain a perfect seal between the neck and the cap.
- the small thickness of the edge facilitates the elimination of any deposit of product on the edge during deformation of the sealing plate during screwing.
- the neck may have a lip surmounting the base and ending by said upper end of the neck.
- the lip thus allows a greater ease of wringing of the applicator member, the latter then being better wrung out, with greater precision.
- the base can have a wall thickness e 1 and said lip can have a wall thickness e 2 , in the direction orthogonal to the axis X, less than e 1 , these thicknesses being measured in a direction orthogonal to l 'axis (X).
- the ratio e 2 / e 1 is preferably less than 0.9 and, preferably, ranges from 0.1 to 0.8.
- the base has a height H and the lip has a height h such that the h / H ratio is less than 6 and preferably ranges from 0.03 to 4, the heights H and h being measured along the axis X of the reservoir.
- the section of the internal wall of the neck can be constant or variable, along the X axis.
- the internal section of the upper part of the neck, located towards the upper end may be smaller than the internal section from the bottom of the neck located towards the tank.
- the bottleneck presents then an internal constriction, in particular in the form of a cone, the most large opening is directed towards the bottom of the tank.
- This profile of the inner wall makes it possible to spin the applicator member inside the reservoir itself, before spinning on the upper end of the neck. In addition, the release of the reservoir application member is facilitated. Indeed, the lower part of larger internal section makes it easier to lean in relation to the axis (X), the applicator member, when it leaves the reservoir.
- the neck can be made in one piece, which allows reduce the manufacturing costs of the application assembly.
- the tank with the neck can be made in one piece.
- the tank can be made of glass, plastic or metal.
- the tank may have an attached bottom.
- it can be done in one material treated in its mass or treated externally (external face), in order to provide more slippery to limit the adhesion of the product and / or improve the aesthetics and / or limit the breakage.
- the cap may include a sub-capsule.
- the sub-capsule can be provided with a thread cooperating with the thread of the base.
- the neck may include a counter ring, integral with the reservoir, which carries the base.
- the outer diameter of the counter ring is substantially close to the outer diameter of the cap but may be larger or smaller.
- the applicator member can be a brush, a foam, a feather, a plastic flocked or molded plastic.
- the applicator member When the applicator member is a brush, it consists of a tuft bristles, the bristles being capable of being made of any material and in any known form of the skilled person.

- Figure 6 shows an axial section of a tank according to a fourth variant of the invention.
- Figure 6a shows in detail the upper end of the neck.
- Figure 7 shows an axial section of a tank according to a fifth variant of the invention.
- a designated application set generally by reference 2 comprising a reservoir 4, having a longitudinal axis (X) of symmetry, and a cap 6.
- the reservoir 4 contains a product 3 liquid or viscous to be applied, which can for example be a composition of nail polish.
- the reservoir 4 comprises a neck 8 comprising a base 10 supporting a lip 12, this lip having a wall thickness e 2 in the direction orthogonal to the axis X and a height h along the axis X.
- the internal diameter of the neck is substantially constant.
- the base 10 has a thread 14 which is distant from the upper open end 13 of the lip 12.
- This free end 13 of the neck has a first projecting edge 15 located above a second edge 17, measured along the axis X.
- the edge 15 is located on the internal wall 21 of the neck while the second edge 17 is located on the external wall 19 of the neck. It can be seen in FIG. La that the edge 15 is defined by two planes P and P 'which form an acute angle between them.
- the plane P forms an obtuse angle with the X axis, measured clockwise.
- the base 10 has a wall thickness e 1 , measured at the bottom of the thread of the thread 14, in the direction orthogonal to the axis X and a height H along the axis X. As visible in FIG. 1, the thickness e 2 is less than the thickness e 1 .
- e 1 can be chosen from 1 to 4 mm and e 1 from 5 to 10 mm. More specifically, e 1 is equal to 7 mm and e 2 is equal to 2 mm.
- h is chosen, in practice, from 1 to 12 mm and H ⁇ 3 mm and up to 30 mm.
- the reservoir-base-lip assembly is made in one piece, in particular in glass.
- the cap 6 comprises a skirt 16, the internal wall of which is provided with a thread 18 complementary to the thread 14 of the base 10.

- the other end 22b of the rod is fixed to a support 24 which is forced into the cap 6.
- the support 24 has a circular flat 26 which constitutes a sealing plate.
- the cap 6 When the application assembly is closed, the cap 6 is screwed onto the reservoir 4. The flat 26 is then crushed against the edge 15 of the lip 12, then deformed along the edge of the edge 15, thus ensuring the tightness of the application assembly, including after several uses.
- Figure 3 shows an alternative embodiment of the application set differentiating from that of Figure 1 by the shape of the neck.
- the bottleneck has a counter ring 28 integral with the tank and carrying the base 10. This creates a space in the tank, constituting an expansion chamber for the product.
- the counter ring it is possible to provide a screwing guide cord the cap on the neck, located on the neck between the threads of the base and the contrabague.
- FIG. 4 shows an alternative embodiment of the invention which differs from that of FIG. 3 by the fact that the base 10 has a thread 14 only in the lower part, which is therefore further from the upper open end 13 of the lip 12 as in the whole of FIG. 3.
- the profile of the upper end 13 of the neck 8 is homogeneous, that is to say continuous all around the periphery of the end 13.
- the profile could be only on part of the periphery of the neck, the rest of the periphery with a flat profile.
- FIG. 5 shows an alternative embodiment of the invention different from that of figure 1 by the profile of the upper end 13 of the neck 8.
- the projecting edge 15 is located on the outer wall 19 of the neck while the edge 17 is located on the internal wall 21 of the neck.
- the plane P defining the projecting edge 15 with the plane P ', forms an acute angle with the axis X, measured in the direction of the needle of a watch.
- the planes P and P ' also form an acute angle between them. In this conformation, plane P makes the flow towards the interior of the tank even better 4 of the excess product wrung out.
- the cap 6 has a sub-capsule 30 fitted into the cap 6 and which is provided in its inner wall with a thread 32 intended to cooperate with the thread 14 of the base 10.
- the sealing plate 34 is provided with a flange 36 allowing the support 24 to be force-fitted into the sub-capsule 30.
- the plate 26 is deformed on either side of the upper edge 15 thus improving the sealing of the application assembly.
- FIG. 6 shows a reservoir in which the base 10 of the neck 8 has at its free end 13 two edges 17a, 17b located at the same level relative to to the X axis, as well as a projecting edge 15 situated above the edges 17a, 17b.
- the edge 17a is located on the outer wall 19 of the neck while the edge 17b is located on the internal wall 21 of the neck.
- the planes P and P ', defining the projecting edge 15, define between them an acute angle.
- the plane P forms an acute angle with the axis X while the plane P 'forms a obtuse angle with the X axis, angles measured clockwise.
- Figure 7 shows a tank differentiating from that of Figure 6 by the conformation of the neck. Furthermore, the base 10 of the neck is surmounted by a lip 12. It can be seen in this FIG. 7 that the internal diameter d 1 of the neck at the level of the base 10 is greater than the internal diameter d 2 of the neck at level of the lip 12.
- the throttling zone 30 of the internal wall 21 of the neck allows the brush 20 to be wrung beforehand when it comes out of the reservoir 4, thus limiting the quantity of product to be wrung on the free end of the neck .
- the larger diameter area d1 makes it easier to tilt the brush 20 relative to the axis X, thereby facilitating its exit from the reservoir 4.
- the brush rod can also be mounted with the screw sub-capsule, in one piece.
