Description

The invention relates to a rotating bowl mixer. More in particular, the invention relates to a conical mixer with screw and rotating tank. Such a mixer is intended for mixing dry products pulverulent or granular, possibly incorporating liquid for humidification or dough formation.

We already know in particular from documents DE-A-36 38 972, DE-A-29 14 307 and DE-A-29 02 570, conical bowl and screw mixers Archimedes. This type of mixer includes a fixed conical tank receiving the product to be mixed (powder or pasty product). The mixture of diverse components is carried out by an Archimedes screw (turn mounted on a tube support) with orbital motion. This orbital movement is obtained by a central or lateral motorization (single or double) and allows, hand, a rotational movement of the Archimedes screw around the axis of the tank along the internal circumference of the conical tank positioning the screw successively tangentially to each generator of the cone, and on the other hand, an axial rotation of the screw on itself allowing to move the powdered product from bottom to top and to realize thus mixing.

The mechanics of these drives are complex: a first drive device provides a slow rotational movement around the axis of the conical tank; a second drive device allows, generally via a pinion transmission conical implanted in the support arm of the screw, to obtain rotation axial of the coil on itself.

In each of the three documents DE-A-36 38 972, DE-A-29 14 307 and DE-A-29 02 570, the Archimedes screw is carried by a mounted cover rotatable along the axis of the conical tank. A first motor drives the cover rotating around the axis of the tank, a second motor carried by the cover rotates the screw along its axis.

A difficulty is to ensure the electrical supply of the motor mobile mounted on the cover. Knowing that such mixers are intended to be used for mixing powdery products, understands that the means of transmitting electrical energy must operate in an atmosphere laden with dust or powder, so that sliding contact power supplies are subjected to harsh test and present significant risks of defects, in addition to are complex and require protective devices.

In addition, with known mixers, it turns out particularly delicate and expensive to multiply the screws or other mixing devices, all of which are driven devices rotation around the axis of the tank.

A first object of the present invention is to provide a mixer which overcomes the disadvantages or limits of those known to the state of technique.

Another object of the present invention is to provide a mixer with mechanical drive characteristics of simple constitution, and therefore reliable.

Another object of the present invention is to provide a mixer in which a combination of different rotational movements producing a multidirectional effect applied to the entire moving mass, allowing very good homogenization and perfect dispersion of the particles of product.

To this end, the invention provides a mixer comprising a conical tank with a substantially vertical axis, closed in its upper part by a cover and having at its lower part a drain flap, the cover carrying at least one mixing tool such as 'a mixing screw and a first gear motor, to drive the mixing screw in axial rotation, the mixer further comprising a frame associated with a support; according to the invention:
  • the tank is carried by a connecting element interposed between the tank and the chassis and adapted to allow the rotation of the tank relative to the chassis around its axis,
  • the tank is rotated by means of rotational drive,
  • the cover and the mixing tools that it carries are fixedly mounted on the chassis.

According to an advantageous embodiment, the connecting element includes a ball crown fixed to the tank in a plane generally perpendicular to the axis of the tank, carried by a horizontal bearing integral with the chassis and on which come to bear balls of the ball crown.

The rotary drive means may include a toothed crown secured to the conical tank, and a second element integral with the chassis and rotated.

In this case, the ring gear can advantageously be a ring gear, acting both as a connecting element and as a rotational drive.

The invention also relates to a mixer comprising combination of the features mentioned above and described below.

  • la figure 1 est une vue schématique générale, de côté, d'un mélangeur selon un mode de réalisation conforme à l'invention ;
  • la figure 2 est une vue de face d'un mélangeur selon un autre mode de réalisation conforme à l'invention, sur lequel sont implantés plusieurs outils de brassage ;
Other characteristics and advantages of the present invention will become clear on reading the following description which refers to the appended figures which represent preferred embodiments of the invention and in which:
  • Figure 1 is a general schematic view, from the side, of a mixer according to an embodiment according to the invention;
  • Figure 2 is a front view of a mixer according to another embodiment according to the invention, on which are implanted several brewing tools;
  • Figure 3 is a partial front view in section, illustrating an embodiment of the holding means of the drain flap; and
  • Figure 4 is a partial front view in section, illustrating another embodiment of the holding means of the drain flap.

Such a mixer is intended for mixing products dry powdery or granulated, with possible incorporation of liquid for humidification or paste formation.

The mixer comprises a conical tank 1 provided in its part upper part of a cover 2 and having at its lower part a drain hatch 3. The cover 2 is provided with a number orifices intended for example to allow the supply of the tank with products to be mixed, when passing a sprinkler pump, when passing a or more mixing screws, when passing one or more special tools intended to improve the dispersion and homogenization of the mass to mix etc.

In FIG. 1 is shown a single mixing screw 4, driven in axial rotation by a first gear motor 5, and oriented tangentially to a generator of the conical tank wall 1 for stay permanently near the inside of the tank. The particular structure of the mixer according to the invention makes it possible to adapt easily and inexpensively a plurality of mixing or mixing tools brewing. For example, in the embodiment of Figure 2, the mixer according to the invention comprises at least a first mixing screw 4 and a second mixing screw 104. In the latter case, the first screw mixture 4, driven in axial rotation, is oriented tangentially to a generator of the tank wall 1 to remain permanently at close to the inner face of tank 1, and may have a turn net having a pitch, i.e. the distance separating two turns consecutive, variable. In other words, the net of the turn of the first mixing screw 4 has a number of steps of a dimension x and a number of steps of dimension y with x greater to y. The second mixing screw 104 may include a turn thread having the same configuration, except that the steps of an x dimension of the first mixing screw 4 are opposite the steps of dimension y of the second mixing screw 104 and vice versa. The difference in speed displacement of the powdered product caused by differences in dimension of the steps of the turns makes it possible to obtain in the product messy, multi-directional movements that speed up and improve the speed and quality of the mixture.

Also, to increase the disordered stirring effect, the second mixing screw 104, driven in axial rotation, is oriented obliquely and further away from the tank wall 1, placed at the heart, for stir the central part of the product to be mixed.

Dans le mode de réalisation de la figure 2, on a également prévu un outil émotteur-disperseur 204, constitué d'un moteur entraínant un arbre à hélice orienté verticalement selon l'axe vertical 20 de la cuve 1.In the embodiment of FIG. 2, provision has also been made a lump-disperser tool 204, consisting of a motor driving a propeller shaft oriented vertically along the vertical axis 20 of the tank 1.

Le mélangeur conforme à l'invention comprend un premier ensemble maintenu fixe par rapport à un axe vertical 20 et un second ensemble pourvu d'un mouvement de rotation par rapport au même axe vertical 20.The mixer according to the invention comprises a first set held fixed relative to a vertical axis 20 and a second set provided with a rotational movement relative to the same vertical axis 20.

The first set is held fixed by attachment to a frame 6 'associated with a support 7 of the mixer. This first set includes the cover 2 of the tank 1 on which are fixed the tools mixing such as the first mixing screw 4, the second mixing screw 104, the lump-disperser tool 204. The first mixing screw 4 is fixed on the cover 2 so that its axis of rotation 18 is parallel to the wall of the conical tank 1 and that the free end of its whorl is flush with the drain hatch 3. This characteristic is possible due to the use, in the mixer of the invention, of a valve with guillotine 14 manually or mechanically operated as a means of closing off the drain flap 3. This knife gate valve 14 is fixed to the support 7 of the mixer. A ball valve can also be used.

To seal between the base of tank 1 and the valve guillotine 14 are provided sealing means constituted in particular by a seal 19 inserted between the body 21 of the knife gate valve 14 and a rotating flange 15. The: rotating flange 15 is integral with the tank 1, and vertically carries the central part 24 of the valve body 21 in allowing the relative rotation between the rotating flange 15 and the body 21 valve via a ring 22 of non-stick material such that polytetrafluoroethylene, in the embodiment of FIG. 3, or of a ball crown 23 in the embodiment of FIG. 4. In the two cases, the valve body 21 is locked in rotation by the support 7 of the mixer, to which it is fixed by its offset part 25.

In the figures, the cover 2 of the conical tank 1 and the chassis 6 are in one piece but it should be understood that such realization can be replaced by another, since the cover 2 is kept fixed relative to the vertical axis 20.

The rotation of the tank 1 is obtained by a first element 8 secured to the tank conical 1 and movable relative to the chassis 6, a second element 9 which is integral with the chassis 6 and which is rotated, and finally a connecting element 10 interposed between the tank 1 and the chassis 6. The element link 10 is adapted to carry the tank 1 and allow its rotation along its axis 20.

The first element 8 is a toothed crown with balls which is fixed to the tank 1 along a plane generally perpendicular to the axis 20 of the tank 1. This toothed ring 8 constitutes the movable frame of a ball bearing and is carried by a horizontal track 10b integral with the chassis 6 constituting the fixed frame of the bearing and on which come to roll the balls 10a of the ring gear 8.

Such a connecting element 10 with a toothed crown 8 will be mainly used in small capacity mixers. For mixers at high capacity, the ball crown 8 can be replaced by a raceway with guidance by several bearings allowing ensure rotation guidance and recovery of the vertical load.

The second element 9, which comes in reciprocal cooperation with the ring gear 8, comprises at least one gear wheel and / or at least one pinion having an axis of rotation 16 parallel to the axis 20 of the tank 1. This second element 9, consisting of a gear system, is driven in rotation by a second geared motor 11 fixed on the chassis 6 or the support 7 of the mixer. The gear system can be of the type helical, cylindrical, conical or equivalent. Alternatively, depending on the size of the mixer, we can ensure a rotational drive by sprockets, wheels and chains.

From all of the above; we understand that the rotation of the geared motor 11 drives via the gear system constituted by the pinion 9 and gear ring 8 with ball bearings, the rotation of the tank 1 conical.

To seal between the rotating conical tank 1 and the fixed cover 2 is provided according to the invention, a seal 13 arranged all along the upper circumference of the conical tank 1.
